  • Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae adhesins associated with efectivity and pathogenicity : Adhezini mikroorganizama Mycoplasma gallisepticum i Mycoplasma synoviae koji se povezuju s infektivnošću i patogenošću

Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) adhesins enable colonization of the upper respiratory tract (URT) of poultry infected with these mycoplasmas. In our experimental infections ... of URT of chickens with MG strains only highly passaged culture of A 5969 strain (A 5969 HPK over 500 passages) did not colonize URT. In contrast, a low passage of the same strain (culture A 5969 LPG (some 10passages) colonized URT of all inoculated chickens. Immunoblotting analyses revealed that A 5969 LPG culture synthesized "normal" 67 kDa pMGA [below](1.2) adhesin, while A 5969 HPK culture produced 69/70 kDa p MGA with the extended N-terminal region lacking epitope of pMGA [below](1.1/1.2). Indeed, the N-terminal amino acid sequencingof the 69/70 kDa pMGA and DNA sequencing of the transcribed gene revealed that A 5969 HPK culture cells produced a recombinant pMGA. This mightbe relevant to incapability of A 5969 HPK culture to infect chickens. In infective A 5969 LPG culture the majority of the population produced pMGA [below] 1.2 as a 67kDa protein. In comparison with MS strain F10 2AS, the typestrain of MS WVU-1853 showed poor capability to colonize URT of chickens. On the other hand, the hemagglutination positive (HA [up]+ (cultures of WVU-1853 strain induced rather efficiency acute synovitis following inoculation into hock joints of chickens. In MS cultures their infectivity as well as pathogenicity seems to be associated with pMSA and p MSB proteins which are cleavage products of MS hemaglutinating proteins.
