    The paper consists of five parts. After introduction, in part two, a framework for logistics outsourcing decisions is discussed. In part three, the logistics competencies are described. In part ... fourth, the paper presents the transport and logistics outsourcing in Europe, where the trends in logistics development and outsourcing are discussed. The paper will assist managers responsible for the development of logistics strategies. The paper offers a unique buyer-supplier partnership framework by proposing that the logistics outsourcing will increase the competitive advantage of manufacturing firms.
