    Theoretical background: In addition to happiness, joy and satisfaction, the post-natal period also brings many questions and concerns about self-care, care and activities of the newborn, and health ... problems that can occur in the post-natal period. Home care providers play an important role in the post-natal period, offering help and support to the new mother. The purpose of research was to find out if the new mothers were satisfied how the home care providers had treated them and their new born babies. Method: The survey was based on the quantitative research. Primary data were collected by means of a survey based on a questionnaire. Secondary data was based on review of literature, journals, scientific papers and internet sources. COBBIS database was used. The research was conducted in September 2017. The research was carried out at the Health Center in Velenje. Of the 60 questionnaires distributed, 55 questionnaires were returned, representing 91.6% realization. Results: The survey shows that most new mothers are acquainted with post-natal healthy life style. Two thirds of new mothers are physically active for 60 or more minutes a day, 67% have four or more meals per day, and 91% have a balanced diet. New mothers are well aware of the fact that healthy living prevents obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The survey also shows that new mothers are familiar with home care providers' activities. 93% of new mothers are satisfied with the treatment and help with the new born baby. The survey shows that 80% of home care providers have a very good or excellent communication and attitude towards the new mothers. Discussion: Home care providers take a huge amount of responsibility when visiting new mothers at home and also provide health education. Therefore, it is important that they are well educated as well as well experienced. In this way they can do their job professionally
