Theoretical background: In the diploma thesis we presented the legal and ethical basics for the implementation of the emergency medical service, as well as the role and importance of health rescuers, ...graduates and graduate nurses in the operation of emergency medical assistance. Methods: We used a review, literature search by database (Cobiss, Google) and printed sources. The data collection methodology with a structured questionnaire of 25 questions was used and was adapted for the needs of this research. Data were processed with computer programs 1Ka.si and Excel 2016. Results: Health rescuers, graduates and graduate nurses, involved in the work of emergency medical help are only 14% fully acquainted with the Codex of Ethics in Nursing and Care, 52% of those are familiar with and 25% of them are just acquainted partially. 3% of the above-mentioned nursing workers are not familiar and 6% are completely unfamiliar with the Codex, which indicates that the data are of concern. The survey confirmed the fact that there are among employees, according to age and years of service, differences about the knowledge and consideration of ethical principles. Discussion: The survey show that employees in emergency medical care were 23% more than once a month, 27% between 6 and 12 times a year, and 33% less than once a year in situations where they do not have adequate professional competencies for the implementation of procedures, knowledge, skills and equipment. For this reason, they violate legal ethical principles and do not follow the standards of the Codex of Ethics in Nursing and Care.
