    Pajič, Dijana
Theoretical background:A healthy lifestyle is crucial for every individual person. It is especially important in the period between pregnancy and breast-feeding. The purpose of the research is the ... role of a nurse in raising awareness among pregnant women, importance of a healthy diet during pregnancy and breastfeeding and if they have followed the principles of a healthy life. Method:In the study we used a quantitative method of work. In order to collect data, we used the survey questionnaire, which we designed on the basis of the literature reviewed. The research was conducted between 7.3.2018 and 9.4.2018 in the Dravograd Women's Health Center. Out of 80 divided polls, 76 polls were filled in correctly, representing 95% of the survey. The obtained results were statistically processed, graphically and tabulated using Microsoft Office Excel 2007. Results:The survey showed that women are well aware of the importance of healthy eating during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. 89.5% of women agreed that they should avoid raw or poorly baked meat due to the risk of infection, and that alcohol is harmful during pregnancy, and 71.7% of women are aware during breastfeeding. Women need to take as much as 60.5% of women a day to have 4-6 evenly distributed meals. Unfortunately, the respondents enjoyed too little fruit and vegetables, and did not drink enough fluids per day. We also found that, unfortunately, 7.9% of respondents still smoked during pregnancy. Discussion:The survey showed a positive attitude of respondents to a healthy lifestyle in pregnancy and breast-feeding. It is important that women are aware of a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and that they are aware of the negative factors that can affect the fetus. It is therefore right that the nurse takes health care work seriously and informs the pregnant and lactating mothers of everything necessary, all from the correct diet during the period during pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
