Theoretical background: The role of ethics in the field of nursing care is of utmost importance, which nurses need to be especially aware of and have to acquire knowledge in ethics in the time of ...education. The purpose of the diploma work is to present the ethical principles in the field of nursing care from the point of view of students of the undergraduate study programme Nursing Care. Method: A quantitative method was used, data were collected using a questionnaire developed for the purpose of our research. 102 students filled out a questionnaire, containing the claims summarized from the Code of Ethics in Nursing and Care of Slovenia. Microsoft Office Excel 2010 was used to analyze the obtained data. To verify the hypothesis, the statistical software IBM SPSS 22 was used. Results: From the analysis of the obtained data, we see that the majority of surveyed students responded to the first part of the questionnaire, which is in average 76 (75%) of the surveyed students. The second part of the survey, containing 16 statements, was answered by 61 (59%) respondents in average. Discussion: According to the students' assessment, employees are under-aware of the violation of professional secrecy. We have come to the conclusion that as the time of service of the surveyed students increases, estimation decreases that employees in health institutions, by their ethical and moral actions, raise their own reputation, the reputation of the profession and their own professional organizations. For healthcare professionals, the health status of the patient has a greater impact on the treatment of the patient than the patient's gender.
