    In our article we describe the usefulness of stents in the aorta and pelvic arteries. Through our own study we describe the method, possible complicationsand results of stent placement into pelvic ... arteries. We used a stent in 37 cases. Technical success was 97%, primary cumulative patency was 86% after one year, 82% after two years and 82% after three years. The patencyrate is comparable with great world studies. There were twice as much complication rates in our study compared to wolrd studies (20% : 10%) but complications necessitating treatment did not differe (5.4% : 5.2%). We conclude that stent support a wider range of indications including extensive, calcified and ulcerated lesions, and has enhanced long term patency. We give some suggestions about use of stent in pelvic arteries.
