  • Petrološke, mineraloške in geokemične značilnosti kamnin karavanškega granitnega pasu : disertacija
    Dobnikar, Meta, 1964-
The central Karavanke igneous zone along the Periadriatic line in north northeastern Slovenia is built up of two parallel elongated massives, the northern granitic and southern tonalitic belt, ... separeted by metamorphic rocks. It enters Slovenia on Slovene-Austrian border on west, south of Peca andelongates towards east along Koprivna and Črna na Koroškem for about 35 km and sinks under Tertiary sediments of Pannonic sea near Plešivica. The width of northeren, granitic belt, under consideration, does not exceed 2 km. It presents a very heterogene massive consisting of predominant syenogranite and syenite and contemporaneous mafic and intermediate rocks of alkaline character. Mafic rocks consist of olivine-bearing gabbro and monzogabbro, which represent about 20% of the whole massif, and range in size from decimetric microgranular which show field, textural and chemical features which suggest that they formed as a rsult of the interaction between felsic and mafic magmas. The porphyry syenite with rapakivi texture which occurs in close spatial association with mafic enclaves represents another piece of evidence for such interaction.
