  • Observations on changes of Sava river bed level at Ljubljana plane

    In the article long term observations and analysis of Sava river bed level changes in the region of Ljubljana plane are presented. First recorded data are available from the year 1890 whereas the ... first antrophogenic regulation dates in 1895. Since then several major changes of the river channel strongly influenced the sediment balance. At the observed area Sava flows over deep and sensitive alluvial deposits and recharges an important aquifer. The aquifer is an important source of drinking water, and that is why it was always carefully observed. In 1988 several head-drop structures were built to stabilise the river bed. Data gathered show us an improvement reflecting in the rise of the ground level
