  • VCO based current mode control of bi-directional multi-phase 6 kW DC-DC converter [Elektronski vir]
Truntič, Mitja ; Rodič, Miran ; Milanovič, Miro
This paper describes a complete digitally controlled bi-directional multi-phase dc-dc converter. The voltage and current mode control is based on a voltage control oscillator (VCO) performed ... measurements regarding output-voltage and inductorcurrent, respectively. When the VCO is used for the inductor current measurement, the (area) integral under the current (or voltage) curve is measured during the switching on-time and the switching action occurs based on this measurement. This principle enables full digitalization of the voltage and currentcontrol loop. All the tasks for current and voltage control were implemented within the FPGA. The algorithm was verified by simulation and experimentation at a switching-frequency of 25 kHz.
