    Background. Henochoe-Schoenlein purpura is a small vessel vasculitis that often involves the kidneys. It is mainly a disease of childhood and is rare inadults over the age of 20 years. Renal ... involvement is the most important aspect of the disease, since it may cause permanent functional impairment.The majority of patients have a benign course. There is no agreement on the best therapeutic approach in patients with severe nephritis. Methods and patient 25-year old man with purpuric rash over his legs, arthralgias and nephrotic syndrom was admitted to our department. Kidney biopsy showed focal mesangial proliferative glomerulonephritis with more than 50% crescents. Aoccording to immunohistology and clinical evaluation diagnosis of Henoch Schoenlein nephritis was made. Patient was treated with glucocorticoids, enalapril and simvastatin. Benefical treatment effect was presented after six weeks. Conclusions. We report on an adult man with Henoch-Schoenlein purpura and nephrotic syndrome who was treated with glucocorticoids.
