    It is difficult to say that little was done to rescue euro and European union. One of the actions taken was also the Fiscal Stability Compact from the turn of the year. This overall strategy was ... presented as the only alternative to avoid worldwide economic catastrophe - breakdown of the euro. But all efforts turned out to be inefficient and not sufficient for solving all European financial and political problems. In past weeks, the leading European policy makers have gravitated toward the idea of creating a European banking union to alleviate the on-going debt and currency crisis. Nevertheless, all that actions taken cannot stop dividing EU into two parts. There are Mediterranean countries in the EU locked in desperation, and northern Europe locked into paying an endless flow of subsidies to them. Is European Banking union a solution or are we driving into two different directions?
