    The prevalence of heart failure is increasing. It is predicted that at least 1% of whole population is affected: Accordingly, in .Slovenia approximately 20.000 patients suffer from heart failure. The ... aim of pharmacological treatment is to decrease symptoms and prolong life. In the last decade, there was substantial progress in pharmacologlcal treatment due to recognition of pathogenic processes involved in heart failure Consequently: ACE inhibitors and beta blockers have become an obvious part of pharmacological treatment strategy. Basic principle of treatement is to rely on rnodern recomrnendationsbased on evidence from clinical studies, and to treat each patient individually. Many studies show that a large share of patients with heart failure is still treated inappropriately or inadequately.
