  • Testi za napovedovanje preeklampsije = Tests for predicting preeclampsia
    Šajina-Stritar, Barbara
Preeclampsia is a disease which developes only when chorionic tissue is present. Every year app. 5% of pregnant women in Slovenia develop preeclampsia. Detection, prevention and treatment of ... preeclampsia will be ineffective as long as the etiology and early development of the disease is not completely known. Prenatal care can identify population at risk. High hemoglobin and high serum iron levels as well as low transferrin levels are predictive of later gestosis. Elevated plasma fibronectine values and serial measurements of platelet volume have the highest predictive value, but are currently not useful for clinical practice. Doppler blood flow velocity analysis of the uterine arteries at the end of 24th week of gestation has beenthe most useful test for detecting groups at risk for preeclampsia. Close follow up of high-risk group can help in early diagnosis, and the development of complications can be prevented with appropriate treatment and interventions. Low-dose acetylsalicylic acid is moderately effective for the prevention of preeclampsia in high-risk groups of patients for early-onset of the disease.
