  • Okužbe zgornjih dihal in zdravnik družinske medicine = Upper respiratory tract infections and general practitioners
    Poplas-Susič, Tonka, 1965-
Infections of the upper respiratory tract are the most important infectious diseases managed in family practice. Excessive prescription of antibiotics leads to an increase in antibiotic resistance, ... to more side effects and to increased costs in the health system. Patient expectations and demands are important elements which influence the increasing prescription of antibiotics.Providing multiple and varied antibiotic-related in formational messages may increase awareness of appropriate antibiotic prescribing and lower the demand for antibiotics. Clinical guidelines and medical education can help general practitioners (GP) to improve diagnoses and treatment of upper respiratory tract infections.
