  • Mehanske in korozijske lastnosti lotanih in lasersko varjenih spojev stelitne zlitine = Mechanical and corrosion properties of soldered and laser welded stellite alloy joints

    To determine which joining method provides the best mechanical and corrosion resistance for Reman!u~` GM 380 alloy frameworks, the properties of soldered joints and two types of laser welded joints ... were compared. Cylindrical sampleswere cast, and their tensile strength was measured using a Zwick Z 030 testing machine. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and electrochemical potentiodynamic polarization were used for assessment of corrosion resistance.After mechanical and electrochemical testing, the fracture surfacesand corrosion defects were analyzed with a scanning electron microscope. Tensile strength of the soldered joints was significantly greater than that of the laser welded joints. On fracture surfaces of the latter, a lot of porosity and unwelded areas were detected, which diminished the bearingarea of the joints. The results of the electrochemical measurements indicate that laser welded joints possess better corrosion resistance than soldered joints.
