    Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis is a chronic inflammatory disease which affects the nasal mucosa and ocular conjunctiva. It is one of the most prevalent chronic diseases of children. It's prevalence has ... increased greatly in the developed world in the past decades, meanwhile, the prevalence remains substantially lower in the developing countries. Both genetic and environmental factors play a role in the etiology of the disease. Treatment isalways individually based and encompasses allergen avoidance, medications and in some cases specific immunotherapy. Some studies have postulated that the disease has started to affect younger age groups. This hypothesis was not proven by our epidemiologic study.
