  • Vloga specialista medicine dela pri oceni tveganja = The role of occupational doctor in risk assessment
    Dodič-Fikfak, Metoda ; Franko, Alenka
The essential role of an occupational doctor is to link the levels of exposurewith a risk for the worker to get a certain disease. When making risk assessments for people, there are numerous models ... that integrate scientific, economic and psychosocial tools. The models include the identification of hazards, the dose-response assessment, the assessment of exposure and the riskcharacterization. The establishment of a risk should be reported to the employer as well as to the workers. One of the essential questions in risk assessment is the perception of risk in all the participants (employers and workers), since the measures to eliminate the risks depend on this. In Slovenia, the manual Ocenjevalna analiza delovnega mesta (Assessment analysis of the workplace) is already available and it primarily deals with physiological loads and loads in the workplace. This analysis should further be developed and supplemented with an in-depth analysis of the ecological loads with a special reference to chemical hazards and with the analysis of the psychological loads and strains. Regarding a great importance attached to risk assessment, it would be necessary to devote more attention to a systematic learning of risk assessment during the specialization, and especially to teach the medical students how to link a risk with the disease.
