  • Adhezijsko cementiranje keramičnih inlejev in onlejev = Adhesive cementation of ceramic inlays and onlays
    Kopač, Igor ; Pohlen, Boštjan
Prosthetic restoration of teeth with porcelain inlays or onlays is aesthetically pleasing and successful in the long term due to adhesive cementation, which ensures a good micromechanical and ... chemical bond between the restoration and the tooth. Adhesive cementation consists of several clinical steps, which include inlay / onlay inner surface treatment and adequate tooth surface treatment. To provide good bonding of composite cement to the ceramic surface, the inner inlay / onlay surface needs to be acid etched using hydrofluoric acid, cleaned in ultrasonic bath, and then silanized. The cavity surface is treated by airborne-particle abrasion of the composite applied to the prepared tooth to seal the exposed dentinal tubules (immediate dentine sealing). The tooth surface is then cleaned, and the enamelis acid etched. After rinsing and drying, silane is applied. The entire cavity is covered with unfilled lowviscosity composite or with adhesive resin which is not light-polymerized. Following application of composite cement, theinlay / onlay is inserted. Thorough removal of excess luting composite fromthe interdental areas is of the utmost importance. Next, the cavity margins are polished, and occlusion and articulation are checked. Corrective grinding of the inlay / onlay is followed by careful polishing.
