  • Proteinurija v klinični diagnostiki obolenja ledvic pri mačkah, okuženih z mačjim virusom imunske pomanjkljivosti : Proteinuria in clinical diagnostic of renal disease in cats infected with feline immunodeficiency virus
    Tozon, Nataša
In our research were examined 93 cats. 25 naturally infected (group A) and 64 SPF cats of which 25 were infected with viral isolate Petaluma which we grew from approximately 160 passages on cell ... culture (group B1), 28 infected with viral isolate Pisa M2 which was gained on live animals (group B2), 11 infectedwith both viral isolates (group B3) and 4 SPF serologically negative cats as a control group (Bk). With Western blot and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) techniques we confirmed in all cases the result of ELISA rapid test. Proteinuria appears less frequent in the experimentally infected cats and is also less prominent. Average higher concentrations of proteins and creatinine were discovered in cats infected with the viral isolate Pisa M2. With qualitative analysis of proteins in urine in naturally infected cats we discovered glomeruloselective (GS ) proteinuria (2ž21), glomerulononselective (GNS) proteinuria (11/21) and GNS and tubular proteinuria (8ž21). With SPF cats we discovered GNS proteinuria (16ž21) and GNS and tubular proteinuria (5ž21). Proteinuria may be an important clinical parameter to diagnose illnesschanges on kidneys in infected cats.
