  • Stranski učinki terbinafina (Lamisil) pri zdravljenju eksperimentalno povzročene mikrosporoze mačk : Treatment with terbinafine of experimentally infected cats with M.canis: tolerability and side effects of the drug

    The aim of our study was to establish and estimate side effects and tolerability when treating cats with terbinafine hydrochloride. Two different doses of the drug were given to 27 experimentally ... infected catsČ 10-20 mgžkg SID and 30-40 mgžkg SID. We were monitoring the general condition of cats and we were performing CBC and biochemistry analysis. During the three monthsć treatment we established no alterations in biochemisty parameters using eitherlower or higher doses. The suppression of bone marrow was caused neitherby the lower dose (10-20 mgžkg) nor by the higher dose (30- 40 mgžkg). However, we did notice sporadical mild gastrointestinal disturbances especially at the beginning of the treatment.
