In this study, we build the optical model for GaN LED to study light extraction efficiency of LEDs based on the simulation with Monte Carlo ray tracing. According to this model, we ...change the LED-to-LED spacing of 3 × 3 LEDs array to analyze the light extraction efficiency with or without silicon. We analyze the light extraction efficiency for GaN LEDs array with different type of LED and LED-to-LED spacing. Finally, we compare the experiment with simulation results, and present the optimum enhancement of light extraction efficiency with different silicon shape parameters in each type of GaN LED.
Urban water ecological carrying capacity can effectively reflect mutual feedback relationship of various factors in the compound system of water resources-water environment-water ecology-economy and ...society. The construction of a water ecological civilization city(WECC) has a multi-faceted impact on the urban water ecosystem. It has important theoretical value and practical significance to scientifically analyze the changes in the urban water ecological carrying capacity before and after the construction of the WECC. This paper took the "society-economy-nature" compound ecological theory as the guidance, fully considered the response relationship between human activities and urban water ecosystem, selected DPSIR model to build the evaluation index system of urban water ecological carrying capacity. Moreover, taking Wuhan City as an example, we comprehensively used entropy weight method, TOPSIS Model and obstacle diagnosis model to analyze the change trend and influencing factors of water ecological carrying capacity of Wuhan City from 2008 to 2019. The results of the TOPSIS model showed that the construction achievements were mainly reflected in the improvement of indicators in the pressure and impact rule level, as well as the substantial improvement of indicators in the response rule level. This revealed that while the economy and society of Wuhan City are achieving rapid development, the pressure on urban water ecosystem was gradually increasing, and the changes in the aquatic environment of Wuhan City had a certain impact on production and life. Moreover, the average level of water ecological carrying capacity(0.552) of Wuhan City during the pilot construction period(2015-2017) was higher than that before(0.361) and after(0.438) the pilot construction. How to maintain the positive impact of the construction achievements of the WECC construction was an urgent problem to be solved. Based on the obstacle diagnosis model, we found the main factors hindering the improvement of water ecological carrying capacity of Wuhan City were indicators of ecological environment index, the green coverage rate of built-up area, the average water consumption per mu of farmland irrigation, acid rain frequency, and the water quality compliance rate of drinking water source. The results provided decision-making reference for the planning, management and protection of urban water ecosystems, and can also explore the achievements and obstacles of the construction of a water ecological civilization city. Furthermore, the suggestions were proposed to improve the water ecological carrying capacity of Wuhan City, such as the symbiotic and co-prosperity development model of water city and the transformation of industrial structure.
Different SiGe processes and device designs are the critical influences of ionizing radiation damage. Based on the different ionizing radiation damage in SiGe HBTs fabricated by Huajie and an IBM ...SiGe process, quantitatively numerical simulation of ionizing radiation damage was carried out to explicate the distribution of radiation-induced charges buildup in KT9041 and IBM SiGe HBTs. The sensitive areas of the EB-spacer and isolation oxide of KT9041 are much larger than those of the IBM SiGe HBT, and the distribution of charge buildup in KT9041 is several orders of magnitude greater than that of the IBM SiGe HBT. The result suggests that the simulations are consistent with the experiment, and indicates that the geometry of the EB-spacer, the area of the Si/SiO2 interface and the isolation structure could be contributing to the different ionizing radiation damage.

Excessive stimulation of glutamate induces neuronal damage through receptor-mediated excitotoxicity, which is thought to be involved in chronic neurodegenerative disorders. ...Several studies indicated that calcium influx into the cytoplasm in SCA transgenic cell by activation of glutamate receptors and increased toxic cascades, including the disturbance of mitochondrial function and the enhancement of apoptotic pathway. Spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) type 17, a neurodegenerative disorder, is caused by polyglutamine (polyQ) expansion (>42 glutamines) in the basal transcription factor TATA binding protein (TBP). The polyQ expansion interferes, increases protein aggregation and results in cell death. It is believed that Chinese herbal medicines (CHMs) prescription might be a new perspective for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorder. Accordingly, we proposed to identify effective compounds of CHMs protecting cells from glutamate-induced excitotoxicity in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. We found that NH043-1 protected human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells from cell death induced by glutamate-mediated excitotoxicity, attenuated the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), and decreased the expression of Calpain-2, SBDPs and Bax/Bcl-2 ratio for 6 h, and the expressions of cleaved-caspase-9, cleaved-caspase-3 and cleaved-PARP for 24 h. NH043-1 also blocked the decrease of mitochondrial membrane potential by MSG. In nTBP/Q79-EGFP cell model, NH043-1 also showed the remarkably protective activity against the neuronal cell death and decreased the expression of cleaved-caspase-9, cleaved-caspase-3, and cleaved-PARP for 24 h. NH043-1 also inhibited the protein aggregation. In SCA17 animal model, NH043-1-treatment SCA17 mice performed better than Saline-treatment SCA17 mice on an accelerating rota-rod and footprint experiments in 5 months. NH043-1 attenuated expression of TBP protein aggregation and cleaved-caspase-3 in cerebella of SCA17 mice. The results suggest that NH043-1 could be a potential medicine in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders (SCA17) through inhibition of glutamate-induced apoptosis via mitochondria pathway.
