In this paper, we describe visualization pursuant of developing 37 Honored Ones within the Diamond World Mandala. "The 37 Honored Ones" are a collective term for 5 Buddhas and 32 Bodhisattvas that ...were built on the basis of Vajrasekhara Sutra. Also, as core values of Buddhism, they represent ideas of Esoteric Buddhism systematically and symbolically. "The 37 Honored Ones" are completed by the development of 4 Buddhas from Vairocana and their interaction with 16 Great Bodhisattvas and 16 Offering Bodhisattvas that were also developed from Vairocana. So, in this paper, we analyze and visualize the development of "37 Honored Ones." This line of research is significant because it aims to convert narrative structure of the conventional Buddhism scriptures into various types of digital contents. Also, applications of the implemented visual digital contents can be as follows; educational service for Buddhist doctrines, development of the various Buddhist cultural contents, etc.
In this paper, the characteristics and structural meaning of the Palyupsimryeon mandala, which represent the high spiritual world among Korean traditional cultural relics, are analyzed and ...visualized. Various studies on foreign mandalas are being introduced, but there is a lack of systematic analysis of the meaning of existing Korean mandalas. In this paper, we visualize the seeds of the Palyupsimryeon mandala in Korea by matching them with the image of the mandala, which is based on the shape of the mandala. Through this process, it shows that Korea's unique seed mandala has a form of mandala that combines the existing the Diamond World Mandala and the Matrix Mandala. Applications include Mandara's characterization, digital storytelling, and games. 본 논문에서는 한국의 전통문화유물 중 고도의 정신세계를 나타내는 팔엽심련만다라의 특징과 구조적 의미를 분석하고 시각화를 기술한다. 다양한 국외 만다라에 대한 연구가 소개되고 있으나, 현존하는 한국의 만다라에 대하여 그 의미를 체계적으로 분석한 연구는 미진하다. 본 논문에서는 한국의 팔엽심련만다라의 종자를 형상 위주의 만다라에서 나타난 존상과 매칭하여 시각화하고, 이런 과정을 통하여 우리 고유의 종자(種字)만다라가 기존 금강계만다라와 태장만다라가 융합된 만다라로서의 형태를 가지고 있음을 보인다. 응용 분야로는 만다라의 캐릭터화, 디지털 스토리텔링, 게임 등이다.

In this paper, we implement a digital content that visualizes the ten kings of Hell kings appearing in Buddhist myths according to their keyword. The ten kings of Hell are called ShiWang, and can be ...found in ordinary temples as tangible cultural Heritage such as paintings of the Buddha. ShiWang is a great king who controls the underworld and has been passed on in various forms in shamanism and Buddhist culture. We analyze the ShiWang, who appears in ancient literature, analyzes its features by hell and categorizes keywords. When the public chooses keywords of interest from implemented digital content, digital content represents the ShiWang and Hell image and descriptions associated with the selected keywords. Applications of the digital content are as follows; development of games and cultural characters, digital storytelling using traditional culture, teaching Buddhist culture and doctrines, games, etc. 본 논문에서는 불교 신화에 등장하는 10명의 지옥 왕을 주제어에 따라 시각화하는 디지털 콘텐츠를 구현한다. 10명의 지옥 왕은 시왕으로 불리며, 탱화와 같은 유형문화재로서 일반 사찰에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 시왕은 저승 세계를 관장하는 대왕으로 무속 및 불교문화 속에서 다양한 모습으로 전래되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 고문헌에 등장하는 시왕을 지옥별로 그 특징을 분석하여 주제어를 선별하고, 일반인이 특정 주제어를 선택하면 그에 따른 지옥과 왕을 시각적으로 나타내는 디지털 콘텐츠를 구현한다. 응용 분야로는 게임 및 문화 캐릭터의 개발, 전통문화를 활용한 디지털 스토리텔링, 불교문화와 교리 교육, 게임 등에 그 활용을 기대할 수 있다.
In this paper, we implement a digital content that visualizes 33 Avalokitesvara-Bodhisattva according to the wishes of the public. The 33 Avalokitesvara-Bodhisattva is described in the ...Avalokitesvara-Bodhisattva tale that is found in the ancient literature "Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms" as Tangible Cultural Heritage. Also, it is easily found in a wall painting of traditional Buddhist temples. The 33 Avalokitesvara-Bodhisattva is the saint of mercy that transforms into 33 various forms according to the wishes of the public. The Avalokitesvara-Bodhisattva tales deal with differences in the types of wishes of the public, and the tales have been speeded like wildfire among the people. So, in this paper, we classify them into 4 groups by the wishes (healing, security, academic achievement, disaster relief) of the public, and then analyze its symbolism and activity of the 33 Avalokitesvara-Bodhisattva. Also, we implement a 2D digital content that represents visually it according to the wishes of the public. Applications of the implemented visual content are as follows; development of character, game, and digital storytelling associated with traditional culture, education service for Buddhist doctrines, etc. 본 논문에서는 관음 설화에 등장하는 33관음을 일반인의 기원에 따라 시각화하는 디지털 콘텐츠로 구현한다. 33관음은 유형문화재인 삼국유사의 관음 설화와 일반 사찰의 벽화에서도 쉽게 찾아볼 수 있다. 33관음은 일반인의 기원에 따라 33가지 모습으로 변신하고 자비를 베푸는 보살로서, 변화된 모습에 따른 다양한 관음 설화가 민간에 전래되어 확산되었다. 본 논문에서는 33가지 관음을 일반인들의 기원에 따라 치유, 안심, 학업성취, 재난 구호의 4가지 기원으로 분류하고, 각 관음에 대한 상징성과 활동성을 분석한다. 또한 일반인들의 사용 용이성을 지원하기 위한 2차원 디지털 콘텐츠를 제작한다. 응용 분야로는 전통문화 캐릭터 개발, 전통문화의 디지털 스토리텔링, 불교의 교리 교육, 게임 등 불교문화에 대한 서비스 등에 활용할 수 있다.

In this paper, we analyze semantics on mudras of Sahasra-bhuja Avalokitesvara and implement visual content as its application. The mudras are described in the Odaejineunjib that is a tangible ...cultural property. The semantics analysis on the mudras are essential for understanding the meaning of the 42 Hands(mudras) that present symbolic difference of hands holding on various items. So, in this paper, we analyze the semantics on the 42 Hands according to 5 parts which are basic classification of Honored Ones on Esoteric Buddhism. We implemented a visual contents showing Avalokitesvara according to semantics on the 42 Hands. And, in the process, we are able to provide the public with easy accessibility on mudras of Sahasra-bhuja Avalokitesvara. Applications of the mudras are as follows; game contents, traditional cultural contents, etc. 본 논문에서는 유형문화재인 오대진언집에 기술된 천수관음 42수에 대한 의미 분석과 그에 따른 응용으로 시각화 콘텐츠를 구현한다. 천수관음은 각 손에 다양한 지물을 가지면서 내포하는 상징적 의미가 차이가 있으므로 그 의미를 이해하기 위해서는 의미 분석이 중요하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 천수관음의 수인을 밀교의 기본적인 불보살 분류법인 5부에 따라 각 수인을 분석하고, 시각 콘텐츠로서 42수 의미에 따른 관음상을 나타내는 디지털 콘텐츠를 구현한다. 이러한 콘텐츠의 저작은 천수관음 수인에 대하여 일반인들의 접근성을 용이하게 할 수 있으며, 이러한 수인의 응용으로는 게임 콘텐츠 및 전통문화 콘텐츠 개발 등이 있다.

The importance of cultural contents industry is steadily growing owing to the Korean wave etc. and Buddhist cultural contents is a part of the cultural contents. However, the development of Buddhist ...cultural contents in many ways has left much to be desired. That is because, it is difficult for the public, who is not Buddhist scholar, to understand and take interest in conventional contents on Buddhist books themselves which are digitalized. Also, most contents researches are discussed on the necessity of contents development and just stay in these subjects, but it is insufficient to study a semantic analysis and visualizing contents on Buddhist books. So, in this paper, we analyse mandala's twinning rite in the Buddhist books and implement visual contents on the rite. The mandala is using toohadeokbul in a special way as the abhisinca rite. We analyse concept of the toohadeokbul and implement its visual contents which visualize ideological logic of Buddhism. The implemented contents are able to provide the public with Buddhist cultural experience of the yard. Additional, by trying to visualize descriptive expressions of Buddhist books, this paper could be a precedent for developing visual contents of unlimited data comprised in Buddhist books. 한류 붐 등에 기인하여 문화 콘텐츠 산업의 중요성이 높아가고 있으나 문화 콘텐츠의 한 부분을 차지하는 불교문화 콘텐츠에 대한 개발은 여러모로 미흡한 편이다. 그 이유로 기존 콘텐츠는 불교경전의 원형자체가 디지털화된 것에 불과하여 전문적인 불교학자 외에 일반인들이 관심을 가지고 이해하기는 어려운 편이다. 또한 대부분의 콘텐츠 연구가 개발 필요성을 논의하고 있지만, 원론 차원에 머물 뿐 경전의 의미 분석과 관련된 콘텐츠 시각화에 대한 연구는 미흡하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 불교 경전의 내용 중 만다라 결연 의식의 의미를 분석하고 시각 콘텐츠로 구현하고자 한다. 만다라에서는 관정이라는 의식에 포함된 결연 의식에서 투화득불(投花得佛)이라는 독특한 방법을 사용하고 있다. 여기에 내포된 개념과 의미를 분석하고 시각 콘텐츠로 구현하여 이념적 논리를 시각적으로 형상화할 때에 어렵게만 느끼는 만다라 결연 의식을 시각적 콘텐츠로 제공하여 일반인들에게도 불교문화 체험의 장을 마련할 수 있다. 더 나아가 경전의 서술적 표현을 시각화하는 시도를 통하여 불교 경전에 담겨있는 무한한 자료를 콘텐츠화 하는 선례로 남길 수 있다.

In this paper, we describe a symbolization analysis of a Diamond World Mandala animation. The mandala means the basic idea of the esoteric Buddhism. The Diamond World Mandala has a very high value as ...cultural archetype due to have better specific meaning and aesthetic quality than other mandalas. Most researches of Buddhist cultural contents have focused on cultural assets restoration and abstract discussion on contents industrialization until now. However researches on contents directly delivering Buddhism scriptures' meanings are insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze concept of mandala and symbolical meaning of appeared elements in mandala rather than theoretical development appropriateness of mandalas' contents, then implement a prototype of a mandala animation. The animation is made of intangible culture such as an intellectual legacy of mankind, and its applications are as follows; education service for Buddhist doctrines, and cultural services through easy accessibility of Buddhist culture, etc. 본 논문에서는 금강계만다라 애니메이션 제작을 위한 금강계만다라의 상징성 분석에 대하여 기술한다. 금강계만다라는 여타의 만다라와 비교하여 자체로서 특별한 의미와 심미적 요소로 인하여 불교 문화원형으로서 높은 가치를 가진다. 지금까지 불교 문화원형 콘텐츠에 대한 대부분의 연구가 문화자산의 복원과 콘텐츠 산업화에 대한 추상적인 논의가 주를 이루고 있으나, 불교 경전의 의미를 소재로 하여 이를 직접 전달하기 위한 콘텐츠 개발에 대한 연구는 미흡한 편이다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 원론적인 개발당위성에서 좀 더 나아가 본격적으로 금강계만다라에 내포된 개념과 등장 요소의 상징적인 의미를 분석하고, 만다라 애니메이션의 프로토타입을 구현한다. 인류의 지적 유산인 무형문화를 구현한 애니메이션의 응용 분야로는 불교 교리의 교육, 불교문화에 대한 용이한 접근성을 통한 문화 서비스 등에 활용할 수 있다.
Contrary to ubiquitous environments, indoor computing environments like home network doesn't support user mobility. This paper suggests UPnP A/V multimedia system using prediction of mobility for ...adaption of seamless multimedia service. The multimedia system enables indoor mobile users to play multimedia contents by transferring the current session to an adjacent device automatically. The system represents users' contextual information by Five Ws and One H model, and predicts user's movements by using contextual information and transitions of locations. The prediction basically includes multiple locations so that it improves accuracy of prediction. We evaluated the suggested system using in accuracy of prediction, time for prediction, handover time for service, and the system showed that adapt ion of seamless multimedia service was enabled by using prediction of mobility on mobile user. 사용자의 이동성을 제공하는 유비쿼터스 환경과 달리 홈 네트워크와 같은 실내 컴퓨팅 환경에서는 사용자 이동성이 제공되지 않는다. 본 논문은 다양한 단말 장치에서 끊김 없는 멀티미디어 서비스 적응을 위해 사용자 이동 예측을 이용하는 UPnP A/V 멀티미디어 시스템을 제안한다. 본 시스템은 실내에서 이동 중인 사용자에게 이동 중 인접 장치로 세션을 자동으로 옮겨 사용자가 끊김 없이 멀티미디어 서비스를 받을 수 있게 한다. 이를 위해 사용자 상황정보를 6하 원칙으로 표현하고 이 상황정보와 이동 경로 정보를 바탕으로 사용자 이동을 예측한다. 이때 하나 이상의 이동 위치를 예측하여 기본적으로 예측 정확도를 높였다. 그리고 제안한 시스템에 대하여 사용자 이동성의 예측 정확도, 예측에 걸리는 시간, 예측을 통해 사용자에게 서비스하는데 걸리는 시간을 평가하여 이동 사용자의 이동 예측으로 끊김 없는 멀티미디어 서비스 적응을 제공할 수 있음을 보였다.
This paper describes a tree-based conversational interface supporting efficient presentation of turn relations on online conversation. Most of conventional conversational interfaces are difficult to ...make use of formal conversation such as group meeting, decision-making, etc. due to very simplicity of a con versational interface and restriction of data structure of conversational messages. And a tree-based conversational interface supports formal conversation, but they are difficult to present turn relations because of jumpy display by locations of replied turns and distance between replied turns, etc. So this paper suggests a tree-based conversational interface to present efficiently turn relations using XML-based messages with merits of a text-based interface. The suggested conversational interface was implemented by using XML-, DOM, and JDK. And this paper showed that the conversational interface could be applied to conversation system using client- server architecture. Applications for the conversational interface are as follows: collaboration, distance teaming, online game, etc. 본 논문에서는 온라인 대화에서 대화자간 대화 메시지의 응답 관계를 효율적으로 프레젠테 이션하는 트리 기반 대화 인터페이스를 제안한다. 기존의 대화 인터페이스는 대화 인터페이스의 단순성과 대화 메시지 자료 구조의 제약으로 인하여 그룹 토의나 의사 결정과 같은 형식적인 대화를 지원하기 어려우며, 트리 기반 대화 인터페이스는 형식적인 대화의 지원은 가능하나 응답 관계에 의한 대화창의 이동 및 응답간의 거리에 의하여 대화 메시지의 프레젠테이션 등이 어렵다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 텍스트 기반 대화 인터페이스의 장점과 XML 기반 메시지를 이용하여 대화에서 응답 관계 프레젠테이션을 효율적으로 지원하는 트리 기반 대화 인터페이스를 기술한다. 제안한 대화 인터페이스의 구현은 XML, DOM, JDK를 이용하여 클라이언트/서버 구조의 대화 시스템에 적용한 예를 보였으며, 응용 분야는 협업, 원격 교육, 온라인 게임 등이다.
In this paper, we suggest a method for dynamic generation of SMIL documents by user profiles on the web. Generated multimedia documents are based on the SMIL (Synchronized Multimedia Integration ...Language) that are recommended by the W3C. The method generates automatically XSLT documents according to user profiles. SMIL documents are produced on real-time by integration of the XSLT documents and the XML documents that are made already. Most of conventional web-based documents are based on the HTML that is difficult to support reusability of documents are relation among multimedia abject. However, the suggested method is based on the XML, and so it supports reusability of documents and produces efficiently various SMIL-based multimedia documents. Application for the suggested method are as follows; Electronic commerce, tele-lecture, a web-based document editing, etc. 본 논문에서는 SMIL 기반 멀티미디어 문서를 웹에서 동적으로 생성하는 방법을 제안한다. 생성되는 멀티미디어 문서는 W3C에서 권장하는 SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language)을 사용한다. 제안한 방법은 사용자 프로파일에 따라 자동적으로 XSLT 문서를 생성한 후, 미리 작성된 XML 문서와 결합하여 SMIL 문서를 실시간으로 생성한다. 기존 대부분의 웹 문서가 HTML에 기반함으로써 재사용성 및 문서에 포함되는 객체들의 동기적 관계의 지원이 어렵지만, 제안된 방법은 XML에 기반함으로써 재사용성을 지원하고 SMIL에 기반한 다양한 멀티미디어 문서를 효율적으로 생성한다. 적용한 예로서, 원격 강의에서 학습자에 따라 문서 생성 시스템을 보였으며, 응용 분야로는 전자 상거래, 원격 강의, 웹기반 멀티미디어 문서 편집 등이다.
