The objective of this study is to analyze oncological outcomes of patients with peritoneal metastases (PM) of colorectal origin treated with Pressurized IntraPeritoneal Aerosol Chemotherapy (PIPAC).
...PIPAC has been demonstrated to be a feasible and safe novel treatment for patients with PM of various origins. Only small series reports on survival after PIPAC by disease entity.
International retrospective cohort study of consecutive patients with PM of colorectal origin. Outcome measures were overall survival (OS), radiological response according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST), histological response (peritoneal regression grading score PRGS: complete response: 1-4: no response), change of peritoneal cancer index (PCI), and symptom control.
Seventeen eligible centers compiled 256 non-selected patients (mean age 61 50.6-69.2, 43% female) and 606 procedures. Sixty-three percent were treated after 2 lines of chemotherapy, median PCI at PIPAC1 was 18 (interquartile range IQR = 10-27). Median OS was 19.00 months (IQR = 12.9-29.8) from diagnosis and 9.4 months (IQR = 4.5-16.8) from PIPAC1. One hundred and four of 256 patients (40.6%) had ≥3 procedures (per protocol pp) with the following outcomes at PIPAC3: RECIST: 59.3% partial response/stable, 40.7% progression; mean PRGS: 2.1 ± 0.9. Median PCI was 21 (IQR = 15-29) at baseline and 20 (IQR = 12-27) at PIPAC3 (
= 0.02). Fifty-six (54%) and 48 (46%) patients were symptomatic at baseline and PIPAC3, respectively (
= 0.267). Median OS for the pp cohort was 11.9 months (IQR = 10.7-15.0) from PIPAC1. Independent predictors for survival were radiological response (HR = 3.0; 95% CI = 1.6-5.7) and no symptoms (HR = 4.5, 95% CI = 2.2-9.1) at PIPAC3.
Objective treatment response and encouraging survival were demonstrated after PIPAC for colorectal PM. Prospective registry data and comparative studies are now needed in to confirm these data.

•Krieselite was synthesized at 600 °C and 100 MPa by hydrothermal method.•Single crystal structure was refined by XRD.•The assignment of Ag bands in non-polarized Raman spectra was ...carried out.•Lattice dynamic calculations agree with experimental Raman data.•Krieselite Raman spectra are obtained as function of pressure up to 30 GPa.
Spontaneous crystals of krieselite (Ge analogue of topaz) with the chemical formula Al2(Ge0.75Si0.25)O4(F1.63OH0.37) were synthesized using a thermo-gradient hydrothermal method at a temperature of 600/650 °C and pressure of 100 MPa. The unit cell parameters are: a = 8.9732(8) Å, b = 8.4823(7) Å, c = 4.7379(5) Å, V = 360.62(6) Å3, space group Pnma. The F-/OH– content of the samples was refined by FTIR spectroscopy method. Raman spectroscopy showed the main differences between the spectra of krieselite and topaz at the ambient conditions. The assignment of observed and calculated Ag bands (cm−1) for non-polarized Raman spectra was carried out. Using in situ Raman spectroscopy at high pressures, the dependence of the shift in the position of the main bands of the krieselite Raman spectrum on the pressure was established, and the corresponding paths of pressure induced distortion of crystal structure was assumed. According to the data of Raman spectroscopy, it was revealed that krieselite does not undergo the phase transitions up to 30 GPa. The probable way of crystal structure distortion within the space group Pnma was proposed based on simulation of high-pressure Raman spectra.
Liver morphology, intensity of apoptosis, and activity of xenobiotic metabolism enzymes were studied in a chronic model experiment in rats receiving a mixture of 6 pesticides against the background ...of life-long diets with adequate and insufficient supply of water-soluble vitamins. The dose of each pesticide in the mixture did not exceed the acceptable daily intake (1 ADI). It was found that chronic exposure to low doses of anthropogenic toxicants in combination with permanent vitamin deficiency provokes a number of liver changes, such as increased apoptosis activity, cytochrome P450 system depletion, steatosis, and inflammatory infiltration, which is a potential health risk factor.

Molecular docking was carried out in order to search for possible protein targets for the obtained 1,2,4-thiadiazoles. One of the compounds showed a pronounced antidote effect against the herbicide 2,4-D in a laboratory experiment on sunflower seedlings and under field conditions.
Background and Aims Endoscopic forceps biopsy and fixation are laborious and prolong the procedure and anesthesia. Multiple biopsy overcomes these shortcomings with a single endoscope pass that cuts, ...like a needle biopsy, up to 25 biopsy samples of uniform size and depth during endoscope withdrawal. Biopsy specimens are collected in acquisition order and stored in a perforated plastic storage chamber within the perforated metal tip. The tip is cut off, immersed in fixative, and sent to pathology. A formatted log identifies each biopsy specimen by site and position. In pathology, the plastic storage cylinder, designed for processing and microtomy with biopsy specimens in situ, supports rapid diagnosis by frozen section and microwave or routine paraffin processing. Methods After a 10-patient Institutional Review Board safety study and US Food and Drug Administration registration, biopsies were performed in 57 patients during colonoscopy, upper GI endoscopy, and ERCP. A blinded retrospective study compared colon surveillance biopsies in 15 patients who underwent multiple biopsy with 15 patients who underwent forceps biopsies performed by anonymous physicians on the same day. Patient information was removed from slides, and forceps biopsies were oriented manually for blinding. Results Multiple biopsy specimens fixed and processed in situ were not significantly different from batched processed forceps biopsy specimens for depth, orientation, fixation, artifacts, and diagnostic information. Multiple biopsy colonic specimens were significantly (26%) smaller with better epithelial preservation than forceps specimens. Each biopsy saves 61 seconds during withdrawal. Conclusions Single-pass multiple biopsy reduces biopsy time with less specimen damage, work, workplace risk, and soiling. Diagnostic quality is equal to forceps biopsy with better epithelial preservation, although 26% smaller. In pathology, in situ processing and microtomy reduce work and workplace risk. Grossing and manual orientation are unnecessary. Rapid diagnosis by frozen section and microwave or paraffin processing are facilitated. Multiple biopsy speeds diagnosis and improves productivity in endoscopic biopsy and histopathologic processing.
The optimization of the parameters of laser cooling and the investigation of the heating rate in ion traps require the measurement of the temperature of ion chains for which the Lamb–Dicke regime is ...satisfied. A novel method based on the investigation of the dynamics of Rabi oscillations at a narrow electron transition in an individual ion of the chain has been suggested for such measurement. An analytical expression for the population of the upper state as a function of the excitation time is derived taking into account the thermal distribution of phonons over the vibrational modes of a chain with an arbitrary number of ions. The method is tested experimentally for the chain of five
ions using the quadrupole transition at 435 nm, as well as for a single ion. The heating rate measured for the axial vibrational mode in the implemented trap is 8 × 10

Abstract
When studying the influence of excavator bucket capacity on haul truck loading time, it is necessary to assess the technical and economic performance of the complex. If the cost of the ...machine shift of the complex will not cover the increase in productivity, then it is inexpedient to use this complex. This issue requires further, more detailed study and performance of detailed technical and economic analysis. Also, it is necessary to consider classical recommendations about ratio of excavator bucket capacity and haul truck body. It should be noted that at present, there is a significant divergence in the size range of excavators: powerful, with a large capacity bucket, rope shovels are used for mining the coalless zone; small maneuverable hydraulic shovels – for mining the coal-bearing zone. In this paper, we will try to combine the first and the second: consider hydraulic excavators with maximum bucket capacity, which is reasonable to use when mining overburden. In addition, a detailed study of the options of mutual arrangement of excavator and haul truck has not been performed until recently, this work is intended to fill this gap.
