El presente artículo tiene por objeto explorar la relación entre imagen y ficción en el pensamiento de Jacques Rancière. El concepto de ficción ha sido ampliamente desarrollado por Rancière. Desde ...diversos materiales ha explorado el potencial crítico de la ficción en la configuración de escenas de litigio de lo común, en su cuestionamiento a una lógica de la identidad y en la disputa de un orden establecido. Sin embargo, la recepción crítica que se ha hecho de estos desarrollos se centra principalmente en la relación entre la ficción y la política o la ficción y la literatura, ignorando casi por completo la singularidad de la relación entre imágenes y ficción.
Vilém Flusser desarrolla un pensamiento del medio inscrito en una dimensión tecnológica y cultural, para desde ahí pensar el cambio de paradigma que comporta para él la invención de la fotografía ...como creación de las primeras imágenes técnicas. Se trata de una transformación que ha modificado radicalmente nuestra existencia al abrir la posibilidad de automatizar nuestros procesos de creación. De ahí que todos los esfuerzos de análisis crítico que Flusser aporta se centren en pensar operaciones y modos de uso desde los que resistir a la figura del «funcionario», que para él representa el carácter tendencial de nuestra relación con los aparatos y el medio que nos rodea. En este artículo nos proponemos atender a las características estructurales que definen el carácter de «la condición funcionarial», para desde ella repensar la categoría crítica de imágenes improbables, explorada por Flusser, como forma de creación que trabaja desde la materialidad y genealogía de los medios para producir su posibilidad. Si bien Flusser propone que la creación de imágenes habría de tender a su improbabilidad, esto es, imágenes que aporten una información nueva, en su análisis estas serían generadas por una práctica contra el programa del aparato que las produce. El presente análisis sostiene que no es posible crear imágenes improbables sin una atención a su arqueología medial. Por lo tanto, no se trataría tanto de pensar contra los aparatos sino entre-los-medios, lo que reclama un giro de la supuesta inmaterialidad de las imágenes, al tiempo que exige una reflexión de su dimensión infraestructural.
The tropical dry forest is one of the world's most threatened ecosystems and is the habitat of the Robinson's Mouse Opossum (Marmosa robinsoni), a small marsupial within the Didelphidae family. This ...study aimed to describe cases of cuterebriases in free-ranging M. robinsoni by examining individuals caught in live animal traps. Sherman traps were deployed in four different sites over three different periods in five days. All animals passed through biometry, weighing, sampling parasites, and sampling feces. Only animals captured in the study site located close to the city were anesthetized and examined. The evaluation included blood samples and a clinical examination. Animals received anesthesia under physical restraint by intramuscular injections of ketamine and xylazine. For anesthetic reversion, the protocol was Yohimbine administered before release. In total, 8% (5/60) of all captured animals had fly larvae extracted from wounds. The molecular Barcode of the mitochondrial Cytochrome Oxidase I gene showed no match with any recognized species of Cuterebra. The animals weighed from 35 to 80 g and had lesions in the scapular region with parasites under their skin in sizes ranging from 1.3 to 2.2 cm. The animals with parasites were in good physical condition without evidence of disturbances in health conditions. This is compatible with literature, reporting little effect on population dynamics of other host species infected with Cuterebra larvae. The study included 24 animals captured in three areas far from any city, which showed no evidence of cuterebrid infection, suggesting that proximity to the city could increase exposure to cuterebriasis. There are reports of cuterebrids in M. robinsoni in Brazil; however, this is the first report of cuterebriasis in M. robinsoni in Colombia.

El presente artículo parte de la siguiente hipótesis: en las reflexiones sobre la emancipación de Jacques Rancière, los modos de aparecer de los movimientos sociales no tienen un carácter sociológico ...agregado, sino que en ellos se juega la creación de su escena de apariencia. En la medida en que para Rancière las relaciones entre el arte y la política no se fundan en sus contenidos sino en los modos mismos de su efectuación, su configuración no pasa sólo por las formas discursivas, sino que las imágenes también son fundamentales en la creación de los mundos sensibles contra la puesta en escena del discurso dominante. Partiendo de esta hipótesis, este artículo tiene por objetivo sostener que en el pensamiento de Rancière existe una ‘metodología de los bordes’ que resulta fecunda para explorar el poder ambivalente de las imágenes en los usos geopolíticos para producir territorio, trazar líneas de reparto y visibilidad. Desde esta perspectiva, atenderemos al doble sentido que adquiere la noción de frontera: al tiempo que es un espacio en el que se establece un límite, es también el lugar donde se juega su ruptura; no se trata sólo de una línea que separa, pues es siempre un intersticio, un lugar de flujo y deseo, y de ahí su fragilidad.
Among primates, the Neotropical Callitrichid monkeys (tamarins and marmosets) exhibit a particular ability to adapt to disturbed and urbanized environments. However, little is known about ...physiological and health status in contrasting ecological contexts. An example of adaptation to urban environments is the white‐footed tamarin (Saguinus leucopus), an endangered species endemic to the central Andes in North West Colombia. This species was used as a model to contrast physical condition, physiological parameters and the parasite community of wild populations in rural and urban settings. Overall, the tamarins seemed to be in good body condition in both environments; however, urban tamarins exhibited overweight, elevated body mass, and higher cholesterol levels, while rural tamarins showed larger diversity and prevalence of parasites. Variation in several hematological parameters associated with altitude was also observed. Our data provide preliminary evidence of differential physiological responses to urban and rural environments in tamarins. These results may be attributed to nutritional factors, physical activity, and specific parasite‐host ecological interactions in these two environments. Also, abundance and diversity of the parasite community in urban environments may be potentially constrained by habitat fragmentation and relatively fewer reservoirs. Finally, significant physiological and ecological disparities between white‐footed tamarins occurring in urban and rural habitats as well as physiological response to hypoxia at higher altitudes were evidenced here. This study provides important preliminary information that will be useful to determine the ability of New World primate populations to cope with urban development and rapidly changing environments.
Incomplete reproductive isolation and hybridization is relatively frequent in primates. However, no cases of hybridization between formally recognized species have been reported in tamarins (genus
...Saguinus
), a highly specious group of Neotropical primates. Here, we provide evidence from different sources to demonstrate three cases of hybridization in captivity between species of
Saguinus
distributed west of the Andes (trans-Andean). To do this, we described fur color patterns, genotyped 12 microsatellite loci, sequenced the mitochondrial hypervariable region I, and generated chromosomal R bands for the three formally recognized species and the new hybrids of trans-Andean tamarins. We identified one case of interbreeding between the white-footed tamarin (
Saguinus leucopus
) and the cotton-top tamarin (
S. œdipus
) and two independent reciprocal crosses of
S. leucopus
and the Geoffroy’s tamarin (
S. geoffroyi
). All these hybrids exhibit intermediate phenotypes between parental species, and genetic data are consistent with first-generation hybridization. Cytogenetic data suggest that the
S. leucopus
×
S. œdipus
hybrid is sterile, as it is a female with XY karyotype apparently affected by a condition known as gonadal dysgenesis. Trans-Andean tamarin species occur in northwest Colombia with parapatric distributions bounded by major rivers. Potential contact zones, either natural or anthropogenic, might facilitate hybridization in the wild, but this scenario remains to be assessed. Our findings warrant future studies focused on the evolutionary mechanisms of reproductive isolation in tamarins. Given the risk of hybridization, caution should be taken in management and conservation of tamarins.
El presente artículo tiene por objeto proponer un análisis crítico del proceso de regeneración urbana que supuso la edificación del conjunto residencial de emergencia denominado La Virgencica, a ...través de una práctica artística, como metodología alternativa para generar conocimiento relevante sobre las prácticas del habitar. Metodología que hace posible ahondar en las reflexiones en torno a los procesos de normalización espacial, pero sobre todo pensar en prácticas de resistencia a esos procesos de regularización: desde el cuidado de los vínculos que hace posible la existencia de una comunidad hasta las diversas maneras de apropiarse del espacio que pueden desbordar los aparatos arquitectónicos. Si bien toda producción del espacio urbano está estrechamente vinculada con unos modos específicos de disciplinar las formas de vida, nos interesa atender al potencial crítico de aquellas formas de vida que no se sujetan a sus modos de estandarización. Consideramos que la investigación artística tiene un rendimiento particular para recuperar la memoria del lugar y pensar en qué sentidos se pueden desarrollar metodologías para habitar insubordinadamente las formas segregadoras del presente.

Based on the analysis of a lullaby composed by the artists María Salgado and Fran MM Cabeza de Vaca, this article examines the lullaby genre in relation to the interruption caused by the pandemic and ...discusses how these artists bend the genre slightly insofar as they invite their audience to discover new potential worlds rather than avoiding and soothing danger. The first part of the text develops a relationship with the artists’ recovery of the insurgent sounds found in folk songs, as places that preserve the memory of futures that never materialized: specifically, a pamphlet created by Guy Debord of fragments of folk songs, including García Lorca’s ‘Nana de Sevilla’ (‘Seville Lullaby’). By distorting this melody and the folk lyrics, the artists compose a new lullaby for an era that can no longer sleep. Their aim is not so much to dwell on this loss but to explore the strength of our sound.Lullabies are considered a minor music genre, but the hypothesis of this text is that they have a collective strength that appears when they are sung. The politics of speech have traced a categorical social division between those who speak well and those who speak badly, between those who have a right to a voice and those who remain outside the distribution of words. And yet it is precisely in the so-called ‘poor’ verbal constructions that a richer, denser and more unique meaning emerges. That is the interest behind this artistic experiment that explores the ways in which we produce and perceive the interruptions that arise in sound, music and speech as a means of understanding where imbalances occur, or may occur, where it is possible to activate another sensitive imagination.
The aim of this article is to problematise Ernesto Laclau's interpretation of Jacques Rancière. Towards the end of On Populist Reason, the only work in which he refers to Rancière’s theories, Laclau ...highlights two aspects in which the French philosopher’s proposition bears some similarity to his own. At the same time, he refers to another two in which Rancière's perspective differs from his. The aim of this article is argues that Laclau’s interpretation of Rancière is flawed in terms of the theories he formulates to try and highlight the similarities with his own thinking as well as those that reveal the differences.
Este artículo tiene por objetivo problematizar la lectura que de Jacques Rancière hace Ernesto Laclau. Hacia el final de La razón populista, única obra en la que Laclau se refiere a los postulados de Rancière, señala dos aspectos en los que en el planteamiento del filósofo francés se acerca al suyo; y, a su vez, se refiere también a otros dos en los que Rancière se distanciaría de su enfoque. Pretendemos sostener que lectura que Laclau realiza de Rancière es deficiente, tanto de los postulados a partir de los cuales trata de acercarlo a su pensamiento como de aquellos en los que se distancia de él.
