This paper explains the process of creating a novelette entitled Dian-Tara. The novelette was written in one linear plot with external narration using narrative theory or narratology. Tragedy and ...gothic fiction were chosen as the genres since they could create a sense of eeriness in the audience. The issues and phenomena raised in the novelette were the impact of a broken family on children and also what society can do to help the victims. This undergraduate final work adapted Aristotle’s Poetics by having the three-act structure and catharsis for the resolution. The theory of narrative by Tzvetan Todorov was applied for the plot development. Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalytic theory was also used for the characters’ design in terms of creating their past and how it influenced their decision-making in the story. For the character types, this novelette used a protagonist and an antagonist. The characters’ design was separated into three aspects of life (professional, personal, and private). The result of the final work showed that the past life of each protagonist and antagonist character contributed to their decision-making and helped to drive the plot forward as a tragedy was chosen to end the story. Their bad childhood memories and the tragic ending were meant to raise the awareness of the readers, as the impact of this phenomenon cannot be denied.
ObjectivesThis study aimed to examine the differences in multimorbidity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous Australians, and the effect of multimorbidity on health ...service use and work productivity.SettingCross-sectional sample of the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia wave 17.ParticipantsA nationally representative sample of 16 749 respondents aged 18 years and above.Outcome measuresMultimorbidity prevalence and pattern, self-reported health, health service use and employment productivity by Indigenous status.ResultsAboriginal respondents reported a higher prevalence of multimorbidity (24.2%) compared with non-Indigenous Australians (20.7%), and the prevalence of mental–physical multimorbidity was almost twice as high (16.1% vs 8.1%). Multimorbidity pattern varies significantly among the Aboriginal and non-Indigenous Australians. Multimorbidity was associated with higher health service use (any overnight admission: adjusted OR=1.52, 95% CI=1.46 to 1.58), reduced employment productivity (days of sick leave: coefficient=0.25, 95% CI=0.19 to 0.31) and lower perceived health status (SF6D score: coefficient=−0.04, 95% CI=−0.05 to −0.04). These associations were found to be comparable in both Aboriginal and non-Indigenous populations.ConclusionsMultimorbidity prevalence was significantly greater among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders compared with the non-Indigenous population, especially mental–physical multimorbidity. Strategies are required for better prevention and management of multimorbidity for the aboriginal population to reduce health inequalities in Australia.
Introduction: Technology is a proven teaching aid, and online teaching has facilitated teaching across borders; however although technology has been proved to be an effective teaching aid, it cannot ...replace a teacher. There are many reports that discuss the constraints of only using online classes, as a result the use of both online and face to face classes has been advocated. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, has forced teachers and lecturers to rely solely on online classes.
Methods: The authors conducted a survey among the teachers and students of selected schools in India and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to assess their experiences of the effectiveness of online teaching over traditional classroom teaching; the possible ways to improve the teaching and learning experiences; and to find innovative ways and means that can make online teaching more effective. The responses were then represented as percentages, and statistical analysis was conducted to find the degree of agreement.
Conclusion: Some degree of agreement regarding focus in lectures, interactions and summative online assessments was found between students and faculties. Internet speed and technical issues were revealed to be the main constraints of this format, whereas flexibility, availability of content for revision, and fewer distractions were the positive features. The majority of the students and faculty felt that online teaching could not replace traditional face-to-face teaching. The use of animated and video content would help students’ understanding and retention of topics. Frequent summative and formative assessments are vital to draw attention, help with retention and address the issues relating to learning and teaching.
The Covid-19 pandemic has become a stressful situation for teenagers and children, thus affecting their health and immune system. Prolonged stress (chronic stress) impacts the body's immune system. ...Stress has an emotional, cognitive, physiological, and behavioural impact. Individuals with high-stress levels will have more difficulty manifesting positive thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Good mental health is essential for a person to deal with stress in life and is vital in the physique health of adults and children. Therefore, community service was carried out to help with stress management and relaxation therapy. This community service aims to reduce stress among children and adolescents in Saint Beatrix orphanage Sidoarjo. This program involved thirty female children and adolescents in Saint Beatrix orphanage Sidoarjo. They took a pre-test, which indicated a low knowledge of stress management. The results showed that the participants had poor knowledge about stress management. Methods used for stress management education were lectures and discussions. Evaluation of the program successfully before and after the activity was measured after the participants filled out a questionnaire that measured their knowledge about stress management. Meanwhile, the evaluation of relaxation therapy training was carried out through demonstration. After conducting the program, it showed that the number of participants with a high level of knowledge went up to 77%. Based on the Wilcoxon Sign Rank Test result, it's known that the p-value = 0,000 with (ɑ<0.05), which means this program may enhance participants’ knowledge.
Berdasarkan hasil analis situasi kondisi, untuk membuat laporan keuangan yang sesuai standar, tidak hanya diperlukan pedoman seperti standar akuntansi keuangan, tetapi juga diperlukan adanya sumber ...daya yang memiliki kemampuan dan pemahaman yang memadai. Masalah utama yang dihadapi pengelola Masjid Nidaaul Khoirot saat ini adalah Masjid hanya melakukan pencatatan atas kas masuk dan kas keluar saja, tidak melakukan pencatatan invetarisasi terhadap harta yang dimiliki sehingga nilai ekonomis dari Masjid tidak dapat diketahui. Sehingga, untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut tujuan pemberdayaan masyarakat pemula ini adalah mendampingi pengurus masjid Masjid didalam penerapan ISAK 35 dan pengembangan sumber daya Masjid sebagai upaya peningkatan akuntabilitas dana dan manajemen Masjid. Hasil pengabdian ini berupa Sistem Akuntansi Laporan Masjid yang mendukung laporan keuangan masjid semakin akuntabel.
