Kurangnya minat guru dalam menulis sastra berdampak pada rendahnya kemampuan menulis siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan menumbuhkan minat dan kemampuan guru bahasa Indonesia dalam menulis puisi ...dengan tema “Pesona Bengkulu” melalui kegiatan pelatihan secara luring dan daring berbasis teknologi Xmind dan Whitboard.Fi. Adapun metode pengabdian, yaitu deskriptif kualitatif dengan Model APTE (Analisis kebutuhan, Pelatihan, Tindakan, dan Evaluasi). Pengabdian kepada masyarakat mampu meningkatkan kemampuan, kreatifitas, dan produktivitas cipta puisi bagi guru bahasa Indonesia di Provinsi Bengkulu. Peningkatan tersebut terlihat dari kemampuan pemahaman menulis puisi guru menjadi sangat baik (rata-rata 82) dan kemampuan menulis puisi menjadi baik (rata-rata 73.15). Kegiatan berdampak kepada budaya literasi baca dan tulis karya sastra di sekolah.
Prose appreciation is a mandatory course taken by prospective primary school teacher education students in the first semester with a load of 2 credits. This research was carried out to develop Prose ...Appreciation teaching materials based on an experiential learning approach and to determine the validity and practicality of Prose Appreciation teaching materials based on an experiential learning approach. This research uses an R&D (research and development) approach, namely the Dick and Carey model. The data collection techniques used were interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques used were interviews and questionnaires conducted qualitatively and quantitatively. The research results show that the Prose Appreciation teaching lesson based on the Experiential Learning approach is valid and practical for use in lectures. The linguistic validation results show that the Prose Appreciation teaching material is very valid for use with a score of 0.89. The validation results of the presentation and graphics obtained a figure of 0.77 in the valid category. Meanwhile, the content/material expert assessment obtained a figure of 0.87, which is in the valid category. Furthermore, the small group trial showed that the Prose Appreciation teaching material was practical to use and the large group trial showed that the Prose Appreciation teaching material was very practical to use.
This study investigates the most dominant factors influencing Indonesian students' listening meta-cognitive strategies. The interaction of digital literacy skills research instruments and learning ...styles can improve the students' meta-cognitive strategies in listening skills. The role of digital literacy skills research instruments and learning styles is to enhance students' listening meta-cognitive strategies with a total sample of 242. This study uses quantitative research by applying the ex-post-facto method. Analysis of research data using descriptive and inferential statistics with a linear regression test. The results demonstrate that the pupils' digital literacy skills had the most dominant impact. The regression results disclosed that the R-value of the influence of the literacy variable on the meta-cognitive listening strategy was 0.468, meaning that it had an effect of 46.8%, while the learning style was only 19.20%. The interaction between digital literacy skills and learning styles could improve the students' meta-cognitive listening strategies, approximately by 50.40%. Digital literacy skills and learning styles have a positive role in improving students' meta-cognitive listening strategies. A student's meta-cognitive listening technique improves as his or her digital literacy skills and learning style improves.
Nowdays, there are many translation problems although software application to assist translation are available. The objectives of this research were to identify types of error in translation, ...students’ difficulties in translating text, and factors which influence students’ error in translating in English department of State Institute for Islamic Studies Bengkulu. This research used descriptive quantitative method. The results of this research showed that students’ difficulties in translating English text, were elliptical errors (67.29%), idioms (87.5%), and textual meaning (73.54). The difficulties of students in translating were lack of vocabulary (87,50%), difficult translating Islamic texts (75,00%), literary works (66,66%), and grammatical issues (62,50%). Then, the factors affected students’ error in translation were ignorance of ellipsis; unable to identify ellipsis, idiom, and lexical meaning; lack of strategy in translating ellipsis, idiom, and lexical meaning; translating words per word; most students lack a strong background on the content of the text. It was concluded that the students got three types of error in transalation, four points difficulties in translation, and six factors which influence the students’ error in translation.Keywords: Translation, difficulties, and English text

(2) To find out whether the ...English textbook used by second grade students at SD IT UMMI Kota Bengkulu relevant to KTSP curriculum. This research used descriptive qualitative content analysis as its research method. The data were collected from the English student book “Let’s Make Friends with English” for second grade students. The results showed that English textbook entitled “Let’s make friends with English” used by second grade students at SD IT UMMI Kota Bengkulu have fulfilled the criteria of a good textbook by achieving the Fair fulfillment. The textbook was categorized relevance to the KTSP curriculum, but the activities in the listening can be said irrelevant because they cannot cover the learning objectives in listening. It was then recommended that the teachers need to modify the tasks and activities on the textbook which did not fulfill the criteria of good textbook, especially in the area of accompanying materials (CD, Cassettes and pictures), language skill, and teach ability aspects.
