Hâfız Hüseyin Ayvansarâyî tarafından XVIII. yy'ın sonlarında kaleme alınmış olan Hadîkatü'l-cevâmi' câmi ve mescitler başta olmak üzere, tekke, mekteb, medrese, çeşme, sebil ve kasır gibi İstanbul'un ...dinî ve sivil mimârî eserleri hakkında topoğrafik olarak bilgi veren en önemli kaynak eserdir. Eser İstanbul mimârîsinin yanısıra, târihten edebiyata, sosyo-kültürel hayata kadar Osmanlı ilim, sanat ve kültür târihi bakımından da önemli bilgiler ihtivâ etmektedir.Ayvansarâyî eserini 1182/1768-69 yılında yazmaya başlamış, 1195/1781-82 yılında tamamlamıştır. Ali Satı Efendi, câmi ve mescitleri Ayvansarâyî'nin bıraktığı yerden 1253/1838 yılına kadar getirerek, bu kıymetli esere geniş ilâvelerle birlikte bir zeyil yazmıştır. Süleyman Besim Efendi de câmi ve mescitleri 1253/1838 yılından 1276/1859-60 yılına kadar getirerek ikinci bir zeyil hazırlamıştır.Ali Satı Efendi'nin hazırladığı zeyil Hadîkatü'l-cevâmi' ismiyle 1281/1865 yılında, Matbaa-i Âmire'de, iki cilt olarak basılmıştır. Bugün elimizde olan ve Hadîkatü'l-cevâmi' olarak tanınan matbû eser bu zeyildir.İnsanlık târihi boyunca tabiî güzellikleri ve coğrafî konumu itibâriyle dâima medeniyetlerin ilgi odağı olmuş olan İstanbul, üç büyük imparatorluğa başkentlik etmiş ve dolayısıyla târihî ve kültürel zenginliklerin merkezi olmuştur. İstanbul'un kaybolan târihî ve mimârî dokusu içinde, sâhip olduğumuz bu zenginliği idrâk etmek ve sanat eserlerimize lâyık oldukları değeri vermek büyük bir önem arzetmektedir. Bu noktadan hareketle İstanbul mimârîsi başta olmak üzere, Osmanlı ilim, sanat ve kültür târihi bakımından vazgeçilmez bir kaynak olan Hadîkatü'l-cevâmi' isimli eseri yeni nesillerin hizmetine sunmayı hedef edindik. Sanat târihi alanında çalışma yapanlar başta olmak üzere, günümüz araştırmacılarının en önemli müracaat kaynağı olan bu eserle ilgili olarak şimdiye kadar çeşitli çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Ancak eserin bugünkü harflerle tam neşrini yapmak mümkün olmamıştır. Yeni nesillerin eski harfleri okuma güçlüğü çekmeleri bu önemli eserden gerektiği nisbette istifâde etmelerine imkân vermemektedir.Çalışma alanı olarak kendimize eserin ikinci cildini seçtik ve Ali Satı Efendi'nin zeyli olan matbû Hadîkatü'l-cevâmi'i esas aldık. Matbû metni yazma nüshalarla karşılaştırarak Hadîka metninin hazırlanması ve bugünkü harflerle doğruya en yakın şekilde yazılması, çalışmamızın temelini oluşturmaktadır. Metni hazırlarken Ali Satı Efendi'nin ve Süleyman Besim'in zeyli olan yazma nüshaları görme imkânımız olmamıştır. İsveç, Uppsala Üniversite Kütüphanesi, nr. 673'te kayıtlı, Ali Satı Efendi'nin zeyli olan yazma nüshaya ulaşamadık. Yine Ali Satı Efendi'nin zeyli olan İ.Ü. Merkez Kütüphanesi, TY, nr. 2434'te kayıtlı nüsha ile Süleyman Besim'in zeyli olan İ.Ü. Merkez Kütüphanesi, TY, nr. 202'de kayıtlı nüshaları da, kütüphanenin 17 Ağustos 1999 târihindeki deprem sonrasında restorasyon sebebiyle araştırmacılara kapatılması nedeniyle göremedik. Bu sebeple matbû Hadîka metnini esas alıp, bu metni Ayvansarâyî nüshasından istinsâh edilen iki yazma nüsha ile karşılaştırdık. Karşılaştırmada istinsâh târihi bilinen yazma nüshalar içinde en eski târihli nüsha olan Süleymaniye Kütüphanesi, Es'ad Efendi, nr. 2248'de kayıtlı olan el-Hâcc Seyyid Ahmed Saîd b. Seyyid el-Hâcc Feyzullah b. Seyyid Mustafa b. Seyyid Abdullah'ın 15 Rebîülevvel 1230/25 Şubat 1815 târihli nüshası ile Ayvansarâyî'nin eserlerini istinsâh etmekle meşhûr olan Abdülhamîd Haşmet b. Mehmed Sâlim el-Üsküdârî'nin Süleymaniye Kütüphanesi, Es'ad Efendi, nr. 2247'de kayıtlı olan 22 Receb 1236/25 Nisan 1821 târihli nüshasını kullandık. Ayvansarâyî nüshasından istinsâh edilen nüshalarda olup matbû metinde yer almayan câmiler ve bilgiler mevcuttur. Ali Satı Efendi'nin çıkardığı bu bölümleri çalışmamızda köşeli parantez içinde dâhil ettik ve dipnotlarda ilgili varak numaraları belirttik. Hadîka metnini verirken -tesbit edebildiğimiz nisbette- dizgi hatalarını ve gözden kaçan diğer yanlışları, Ayvansarâyî'nin diğer eserlerine, dîvânlara ve konu ile ilgili târihî kaynaklara ve araştırmalara mürâcaat etmek sûretiyle düzelterek daha sağlıklı bir neticeye ulaşmaya çalıştık. Tezimiz giriş kısmı ile birlikte iki bölümden oluşmaktadır.
The effects of Rumex patientia and Urtica dioica on levels of blood glucose, plasma amino acids and other parameters, urine excreta, and liver and kidney histology were examined in diabetic rats ...induced by streptozotocin. Streptozotocin increased blood glucose and changed the levels of amino acids and other parameters, and caused degenerative changes in the liver and kidney. Rumex patientia had some protective effect on these parameters changed by streptozotocin, while Urtica diocia had no protective effects.
Natural compounds such as resveratrol, tannic acid, and quercetin may help to treat cancer. Tamoxifen is a non-steroidal anti-estrogen drug widely used in the treatment of patients with estrogen ...receptor-positive breast cancer. The aim of the study was to compare the effects of these natural compounds and tamoxifen in colon adenocarcinoma (CaCo-2) and breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7) cell lines, on telomerase enzyme activity, cell viability, number of cells and DNA fragmentation. In this study to determine telomerase enzyme activity was used PCR–ELISA kit. To determine cell viability and number of cells were used tripan blue stain. DNA fragmentation was determined by DNA ladder isolation kit. Tannic acid was more effective than resveratrol, with respect to reduction in telomerase activity, cell viability and cell count in breast adenocarcinoma. Tannic acid and tamoxifen was more effective than resveratrol and quercetin telomerase activity, cell viability and cell count in colon adenocarcinoma. Flavonoids such as resveratrol, tannic acid and quercetin which was studied on, has benefical effects on cancer therapy. These effects such as decreasing telomerase enzyme activity, cell viability and number of cells and inducing DNA fragmentation (apoptosis) must be studied for assist to develop new therapeutic pathways. There should be much more sudies in order to discover resveratrol, tannic acid and quercetin and other potential medicines.

In the ...present study, resveratrol and tannic acid were administrated in the CaCo-2 cell line at doses of 25, 50, and 100 microM. The CaCo-2 cells were grown and cultured in the Medical Biology Department, Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Eskisehir, Turkey in 2007. The effects of these agents on apoptotic index were determined by Apop Taq peroxidase kit and their effects on the ratios of Bak and FADD proteins by the immunohistochemical staining method at 24, 48, and 72 hours. Stained and non-stained cells in 30 separate areas of the 3 separate chamber slides, prepared for each group, were counted. The percentage of apoptosis, and Bak and FADD proteins was calculated with the control. Mean +/- standard error values were calculated for the 3 experiments.
Apoptotic index, Bak protein percentage ratio, and FADD protein percentage ratio values in all groups that received tannic acid and resveratrol increased when compared within the groups. This increase was found to be time and dose independent in all parameters.

in our study, genomic DNA was studied in a total of 237 individuals, 132 of them having been diagnosed as patients with schizophrenia and 105 of them being used as control subjects. In addition, sera from 31 patients with schizophrenia and 26 healthy subjects were used to compare serum ACE concentrations. By using polymerase chain reaction, we determined the frequency of ACE gene I/D polymorphism and measured the serum ACE concentrations by ELISA.
distribution of ACE gene I/D polymorphism and allele frequencies between the control group genotype proportions (II 19%, ID 44%, DD 37%) and the patient group (II 19%, ID 45%, DD 36%) were not significantly different. Serum ACE concentrations were 293.15 ± 23.29 ng/mL in the control group and 362.61 ± 19.96 ng/mL in the patients. It was observed that serum ACE concentrations significantly increased in patients with schizophrenia compared with those of the control group (p < 0.05). However, no significant difference could be observed according to genotypes in serum ACE concentration.
Cancer chemopreventive agents are designed to reduce the incidence of tumorigenesis by intervening at one or more stages of carcinogenesis. This study aimed to determine the effects of resveratrol ...(RES) and tannic acid (TA), which are chemopreventive agents, on the nitric oxide synthase (NOS) levels that are effective for development of cancer in colon and breast cancer cell lines. The CaCo-2 (human colon carcinoma cell line) and MCF-7 (Michigan Cancer Foundation-7; human breast adenocarcinoma cell line) cells were grown in the laboratory. RES and TA were used to treat CaCo-2 and MCF-7 cells. Nitric Oxide Synthase Assay Kit was used to determine the NOS enzyme activity of CaCo-2 and MCF-7. Statistical differences between control and RES- and TA-treated cells were calculated using the Student's t-test for double comparison. It was observed that NO activity was generally decreased in CaCo-2 and MCF-7 cells, in which RES and TA were applied. Results suggest that the phenolic compounds RES and TA have different effects on NOS enzyme activity of the colon and breast cancer cells.
Stroke is a multifactorial disease in which genetic factors play an important role. This study was carried out to determine angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene polymorphism in Turkish acute ...stroke patients and to establish whether there is an association of angiotensin-converting enzyme gene I/D polymorphism with clinical parameters. In this study 185 patients and 50 controls were recruited. We have investigated the association among the allelic distribution of the insertion/deletion (I/D) polymorphism of the ACE gene identified by polymerase chain reaction. Distribution of ACE gene I/D genotypes and allele frequencies in patients were not significantly different from controls. D allele frequencies were 57.8% in patients versus 53.0% in controls and I allele 42.2% versus 47% respectively. History of hypertension, stroke, renal, heart and vessel diseases incidence and age, gender, systolic-diastolic blood pressures and creatinine levels were significantly high in patients. But these results and ACE activities had no significant differences among the ACE genotypes in patients and controls. Our results suggest that the ACE gene polymorphism is not associated with the pathogenesis of stroke in Turkish stroke patients.
