Rice lines need to be grown and evaluated for yield under different agro-ecological locations to identify stable and high-yielding lines for deployment in breeding programs. With this aim, a set of ...rice germplasm was evaluated for G×E in four different environments (E1-Dadesuguru-Wet 2020, E2-ICAR–IIRR-Dry 2019, E3-ICAR–IIRR-Wet 2020, E4-ICAR–IIRR-Dry 2020). The experimental trial was laid out in a randomized complete block (RCB) design with three replications at each location for 118 rice lines. Data on yield per plant was analyzed using the Additive Main Effect and Multiplicative Interaction (AMMI) and Genotype, and Genotype × Environment Interaction (GGE) models. The combined analysis of variance (ANOVA) manifested significant variations for tested genotypes, locations, years, genotype × year, and genotype × location interactions revealing the influence of environmental factors on yield traits. All four environments showed discrimination power, whereas E2 and E3 were found as the representative environment as they fall near the Average-Environment axis (AEA). The AMMI biplot PC1 contributed 79.20% variability and PC2 contributed 15.18% variability. From the GGE biplot analysis, the rice lines Phouren, JBB-631-1, and JBB-1325 were found to be the best and most stable. The rice lines Phouren, PUP-229, and TI-112 were stable in the first sub-group Dhadesugur-Wet 2020 (E1). The rice lines Langphou, and NPK-45 were stable in the second sub-group ICAR-IIRR-Wet 2020 (E3). Environment ICAR-IIRR-Dry 2019 (E2) was the third subgroup and the rice lines Moirangphou-Yenthik and TI-3 topped for the same. The ICAR IIRR-Dry 2020 (E4) environment formed the fourth subgroup where Phouren-Amubi, TI-128 and JBB-1325 topped the season. In conclusion, this study revealed that G × E interactions are significant for yield variation, and its AMMI and biplots analysis are efficient tools for visualizing the response of genotypes to different locations.
Due to depleting reserves of fossil fuels, political uncertainties, increase in demand of energy needs and growing concerns of environmental effects, bioenergy as an alternative source of energy ...needs had taken centre stage globally. In this report, we review the progress made in lignocellulose, cellulose and fermentation based biofuels in addition to tree borne oil seeds. Algae as a source of feedstock for the biofuel has also been reviewed. Recent efforts in genome sequencing of biofuel crops and molecular breeding approaches have increased our understanding towards crop improvement of major feedstocks. Besides, patenting trends in bioenergy sector were assessed by patent landscape analysis. The results showed an increasing trend in published patents during the last decade which is maximum during 2011. A conceptual framework of "transgenesis in biofuels to industrial application" was developed based on the patent analytics viz., International Patent Classification (IPC) analysis and Theme Maps. A detailed claim analysis based on the conceptual framework assessed the patenting trends that provided an exhaustive dimension of the technology. The study emphasizes the current thrust in bioenergy sector by various public and private institutions to expedite the process of biofuel production.

The oscillation or ...vibration caused by the wind is used to generate the electric current. As a result, piezoelectric material or a linear alternator are used to generate electricity. In this project effort, we attempted to increase the vortex-induced vibrations of the turbine built of Epoxy Carbon UD (230GPa) by altering the design of the mast and base. The maximum deflection is 0.22775m (condition 7) at 10 m/s2 acceleration.
Background: This study was aimed to evaluate the protective effects of a novel anti-hyperglycemic “Mcy protein” isolated from the fruits of Momordica cymbalaria in streptozotocin induced- diabetes ...rat model. Materials and Methods: Wild type and Streptozotocin induced diabetic male wistar albino rats were either treated with single intraperitoneal injection of 2.5 mg Mcy protein/kg body weight or acetate buffer daily for 30 days. Fasting blood glucose and, serum and tissue lipid levels were measured along with biochemical analysis for hepatic and renal function tests. Results: Mcy protein significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose and, serum as well as tissue lipid levels (p<0.05), besides normalizing the levels of liver and kidney function markers in the treated diabetic rats when compared to the diabetic controls. Our studies also showed the pancreatic islet regeneration in Mcy treated rats. Conclusion: Mcy protein can alleviate hyperlipidemia and help manage diabetes by stimulating insulin secretion without evident toxic effects on liver and kidney.

There have been a number of techniques that have demonstrated the generation of multimedia data for one modality at a time using GANs, such as the ability to generate images, videos, and audio. ...However, so far, the task of multi-modal generation of data, specifically for audio and videos both, has not been sufficiently well-explored. Towards this, we propose a method that demonstrates that we are able to generate naturalistic samples of video and audio data by the joint correlated generation of audio and video modalities. The proposed method uses multiple discriminators to ensure that the audio, video, and the joint output are also indistinguishable from real-world samples. We present a dataset for this task and show that we are able to generate realistic samples. This method is validated using various standard metrics such as Inception Score, Frechet Inception Distance (FID) and through human evaluation.
