We perform a full amplitude analysis of the process e+ e- → J/ψ$D\bar{D}$, where D refers to either D0 or D+. A new charmoniumlike state X*(3860) that decays to$D\bar{D}$ is observed with a ...significance of 6.5σ. Its mass is (3862 $+26+40\atop{-32-13}$) MeV=c2, and its width is (201 $+154+88\atop{-67-82}$) MeV. The JPC 0++ hypothesis is favored over the 2++ hypothesis at the level of 2.5σ.
Here, we report the first search for the JPC=0-- glueball in Υ ( 1S ) and Υ ( 2S ) decays with data samples of ( 102±2 ) ×106 and ( 158±4 ) ×106 events, respectively, collected with the Belle ...detector. No significant signals are observed in any of the proposed production modes, and the 90% credibility level upper limits on their branching fractions in Υ ( 1S ) and Υ ( 2S ) decays are gained. The inclusive branching fractions of the Υ ( 1S ) and Υ ( 2S ) decays into final states with a χc1 are measured to be B ( Υ ( 1S ) → χc1+anything ) = ( 1.90±0.43 ( stat ) ±0.14 ( syst ) ) ×10-4 with an improved precision over prior measurements and B ( Υ ( 2S ) → χc1+anything ) = ( 2.24±0.44 ( stat ) ±0.20 ( syst ) ) ×10-4 for the first time.
We report the first search for the JPC= 0-- glueball in Yð1SÞ and Y=ð2SÞ decays with data samples of (102 ± 2) × 106 and (158 ± 4) × 106 events, respectively, collected with the Belle detector. No ...significant signals are observed in any of the proposed production modes, and the 90% credibility level upper limits on their branching fractions in Y(1S) andY(2S) decays are obtained. The inclusive branching fractions of the Y(1S) and Y(2S) decays into final states with a χc1 are measured to be B(Y(1S) → χc1 þ anything = (1.90± 0.43(stat) ± 0.14(syst)) × 10-4 with an improved precision over prior measurements and → χc1 + anything) = (2.24 ±0.44(stat) 0.20(syst)) × 10-4 for the first time.
With data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider, we measure the energy dependence of the e+e- → hb ( nP ) π+π- ( n=1 , 2) cross sections from thresholds up to ...11.02 GeV. We find clear Υ ( 10860 ) and Υ ( 11020 ) peaks with little or no continuum contribution. We study the resonant substructure of the Υ ( 11020 ) → hb ( nP ) π+π- transitions and find evidence that they proceed entirely via the intermediate isovector states Zb ( 10610 ) and Zb ( 10650 ) . The relative fraction of these states is loosely constrained by the current data: The hypothesis that only Zb ( 10610 ) is produced is excluded at the level of 3.3 standard deviations, while the hypothesis that only Zb ( 10650 ) is produced is not excluded at a significant state.
Abstract We present the first model-independent measurement of the CKM unitarity triangle angle ϕ 3 using B ± → D( K S 0 $$ {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0 $$ π + π − π 0) K ± decays, where D indicates either a D ...0 or D ¯ $$ \overline{D} $$ 0 meson. Measurements of the strong-phase difference of the D → K S 0 $$ {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0 $$ π + π − π 0 amplitude obtained from CLEO-c data are used as input. This analysis is based on the full Belle data set of 772 × 106 B B ¯ $$ \overline{B} $$ events collected at the Υ(4S) resonance. We obtain ϕ 3 = ( 5.7 − 8.8 + 10.2 $$ {5.7}_{-8.8}^{+10.2} $$ ±3.5±5.7) ° and the suppressed amplitude ratio r B = 0.323±0.147±0.023±0.051. Here the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic, and the third is due to the precision of the strong-phase parameters measured from CLEO-c data. The 95% confidence interval on ϕ 3 is (−29.7, 109.5) ° , which is consistent with the current world average.
Here, we show a measurement of the CP -violation parameter φ1 obtained in a time-dependent analysis of B0 → D ¯ ( * ) 0h0 decays followed by D ¯ 0 → KS0π+π- decay. A model-independent measurement is ...performed using the binned Dalitz plot technique. The measured value is φ1=11.7°±7.8° ( stat ) ±2.1° ( syst ) . Treating sin2φ1 and cos2φ1 as independent parameters, we obtain sin2φ1=0.43±0.27 ( stat ) ±0.08 ( syst ) and cos2φ1=1.06±0.33 ( stat ) -0.15+0.21 ( syst ) . The findings are obtained with a full data sample of 772×106B B ¯ pairs collected near the Υ ( 4S ) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider.
We detail the analysis of the three-body e+e- → B B ¯ π± , B B ¯ *π± , and B* B ¯ *π± processes, including the first observations of the Zb± ( 10610 ) → B B ¯ *+ c . c . ± and Zb± ( 10650 ) → B* B ...¯ * ± transitions that are found to dominate the corresponding final states. We measure Born cross sections for the three-body production of σ ( e+e- → B B ¯ *+ c . c . ±π∓ ) = 17.4±1.6 ( stat ) ±1.9 ( syst ) pb and σ ( e+e- → B* B ¯ * ±π∓ ) = 8.75±1.15 ( stat ) ±1.04 ( syst ) pb and set a 90% C.L. upper limit of σ ( e+e- → B B ¯ ±π∓ ) <2.9 pb . The results are based on a 121.4 fb-1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at a center-of-mass energy near the Υ ( 10860 ) peak.
The branching fractions of the Υ ( 1S ) inclusive decays into final states with a J / ψ or a ψ ( 2S ) are measured with higher precision to be B ( Υ ( 1S ) → J / ψ+anything ) = ( 5.25±0.13 ( stat ) ...±0.25 ( syst ) ) ×10-4 and B ( Υ ( 1S ) → ψ ( 2S ) +anything ) = ( 1.23±0.17 ( stat ) ±0.11 ( syst ) ) ×10-4 . The first search for Υ ( 1S ) decays into XYZ states that decay into a J / ψ or a ψ ( 2S ) plus one or two charged tracks yields no significant signals for XYZ states in any of the examined decay modes, and upper limits on their production rates in Υ ( 1S ) inclusive decays are determined.
We search for lepton-flavor-violating τ decays into a lepton (electron or muon) and an f0(980) meson using 671 fb−1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e− ...collider. No events are observed and we set the following 90% C.L. upper limits on the branching fraction products: B(τ−→e−f0(980))×B(f0(980)→π+π−)<3.2×10−8 and B(τ−→μ−f0(980))×B(f0(980)→π+π−)<3.4×10−8. This is the first search performed for these modes.
