Ehl-i sünnet kelâmının simge isimlerinden biri olan, orijinal fikirleri, çarpıcı tespitleri ile dikkat çeken İmam Mâtürîdî, günümüze ulaşan eserleri itibariyle bu sahadaki görüşlerini Kitâbü’t-Tevhîd ...ve Te’vîlat adlı çalışmalarında ortaya koymuştur. Her ne kadar ilki kelâm, diğeri tefsir alanında ise de bu ikincisi de yine onun pek çok kelâmî görüşünü beyan ettiği bir eser hüviyetini kazanmıştır. Hatta kimi kelâmî konular itibariyle tefsiri bazen daha öncelikli bazen tek kaynak hüviyetini taşımaktadır. Onun tefsirinin öncelikli merci konumunda olduğu kelâmî meselelerden birini de imâmet ve buna bağlı olarak ashap mevzuu teşkil etmektedir. Şîa’nın imâmeti İslâm inanç sisteminin bir parçası haline getirmesi ve bu hususta kilit bir role sahip olan ashabı tekfir etmesi, Ehl-i sünnet kelâmcılarının da bu meseleyi gündemine almasına zemin hazırlamış, böylece konu artık ilgili boyutuyla inanç mevzuu haline gelmiştir. İtikadi sahada imâmet meselesinin bir alt konusu olarak kendisine yer bulan ashap tasavvuru bu alanda görüş bildiren kelâmcıların eserlerine de girmiş, başta Şîa olmak üzere diğer bazı itikādî fırkaların ve kimi şahsiyetlerin sahâbeyi alçaltan algılarına cevap olacak bir yapı teşekkül ettirilmiştir. Ehl-i sünnetin hiç kuşkusuz en önemli taşlarından biri olan İmam Mâtürîdî de konuyla ilgili farklı boyutlarıyla izahlar getirmiş ve sahâbeyi hak ettiği mevkie yerleştiren açıklamalarda bulunmuştur. Mâtürîdî, imâmet ve buna bağlı olarak ashap tasavvurunu kelâm eserinde doğrudan ortaya koymamışsa da bir kısım ihsaslarda bulunmuştur. Tefsirinde ise bu hususta önemli açıklamalar getirmiştir. Kelâmcılar, bu sahadaki eserlerinde ashapla ilgili hangi hususları öne çıkarmış, buna dair hangi meselelere temas etmişse o da tefsirinde çoğu kez bunlara değinmiştir. Mâtürîdî’nin görüşlerini çoğunlukla kelâm değil de tefsir eserinde ortaya koymasına bağlı olarak yoğunlaştığı veya temas ettiği konularda kısmi farklıklar göze çarpsa da ulaştığı sonuçlar kelâmcılarla örtüşmüştür. İmam Mâtürîdî, konuyla ilgili olarak sahâbîlerin üstün özellikleri, onlara karşı geliştirilecek tavır, Şîa’nın sahâbe algısına cevap, ashap arasındaki çekişme iddiaları ve mücadeleler, nihayet onları konumlarına uygun değerlendirme gibi başlıkların altında toplanabilecek açıklamalar yapmıştır. Bunların içerisinde ikinci başlık daha çok usûl-i fıkıh, sonuncusu neredeyse tamamen tefsir içerikli iken diğerleri ise kelâmda da yoğun şekilde ele alınan konular olmuştur. İşte bu çalışmada İmam Mâtürîdî’nin ashap tasavvuru ortaya konularak aklı hiçbir zaman ihmal etmeyen, ona büyük paye veren bir İslâm âliminin zihin ve kalp dünyasında sahâbenin neye karşılık geldiği gözler önüne serilecektir.
Imām Māturīdī, who is one of the symbolic names of Ahl as-Sunnah kalām and draws attention with his original ideas and striking determinations, revealed his views regarding kalām in his works called Kitāb al-tawhīd and Ta’wīlāt. Although the first one is in the field of kalām and the other is in the field of tafsīr, the second one has gained the identity of a work in which he declared many theological views. One of the theological issues in which his tafsīr is the primary authority is the imamate and accordingly the companions. The Shīʿa’s making the imamate a part of the Islamic belief system and the takfı̄r of companions, who have a key role in this matter, paved the way for Ahl as-Sunnah theologians to put this issue on their agenda, so the issue has now become a matter of belief in its relevant dimension. The imagination of the companions, which took its place as a sub-topic of the imamate issue in the theological field, also entered the works of the theologians who expressed their views in this field, and a structure was formed that would respond to the perceptions of the Shīʿa, some other theological sects and some personalities that demean companions. Imām Māturīdī, who is undoubtedly one of the most important stones of Ahl as-Sunnah, also explained the subject with different dimensions and made statements that placed the companions in the position they deserved. Although Māturīdī did not reveal the concept of imamate and, accordingly, the companions in his theological work, he made some suggestions. He made important explanations on this issue in his tafsīr. The theologians, in their works in this field, highlighted the issues related to the companions, and whatever issues they touched on this matter, he often mentioned them in his tafsīr. Although there are partial differences in the subjects that Imām Māturı̄dı̄ concentrates on or comes into contact with due to the fact that he reveals his views mostly in his work of tafsīr rather than theology, the results he reached overlapped with the theologians. Imām Māturı̄dı̄ made explanations on the subject that can be grouped under headings such as the superior characteristics of the companions, the attitude to be developed towards them, the answer to the Shiite perception of the companions, the claims of conflict and struggles among the companions, and finally, evaluating them in accordance with their positions. Among these, the second title was mostly usūl-i fiqh, the last one was almost entirely tafsīr, while the others were subjects that were dealt with intensively in kalām. In this study, Imām Māturīdī’s vision of the companions will be revealed and what the companions mean in the mind and heart of an Islamic scholar who never neglected the mind and gave it great importance will be revealed.

Zeydiyye mezhebine mensup iken Selef anlayışını seçen, itikadi görüşlerini daha çok İbn Teymiyye’nin fikirleri etrafında şekillendiren İbnü’l-Vezîr, diğer inanç konularının yanı sıra kader meselesi ...hakkında da düşüncelerini ortaya koymuştur. Bu son konu özelinde kader meselesine dalma yasağına dair de görüşlerini beyan etmiş, birtakım prensipler çerçevesinde fikirlerini izhar etmiştir. Daha çok hadis kaynaklarının şerhlerinde ve Selefiyye mensubu ilim ehlinin itikadi eserlerinde kendisine yer bulan mesele, bu kaynaklarda ağırlıklı olarak ilgili yasağın neleri kuşattığı üzerinden ele alınmaktayken İbnü’l-Vezîr, onu hem bu yönüyle hem de o yasağın neleri kapsamadığı çerçevesinde incelemiştir. Konuyu müstakil bir başlık altında ele alan müellif, önce bu yasağa kaynak olduğunu düşündüğü on hadise yer verip bunların sıhhat derecelerine dair bilgiler paylaşmış, ardından nasıl yorumlanması gerektiği hakkında görüşlerini beyan etmiştir. Bunu yaparken, mukayeseli bir yol izlemiş, ilgili hadislerin ortaya koyduğu yasağın neye yorulup neye yorulamayacağını dile getirmiştir. Yasağın özünü bidꜥata dalma ve kötülüklere neden olma maddesine dayandırmış, ayrıca birtakım kanıtlar üzerinden kader hakkında konuşmanın tümü ile yasak görülmeyeceğini temellendirmiştir.
Ibn al-Wazīr, who adopted the concept of salaf during his affliction with the Zaydiyya sect and centered his religious beliefs more on Ibn Taymiyyah’s theories, shared his opinions on the subject of predestination as well as other matters of faith. He discussed the restriction of delving deeply into the subject of predestination in this last topic, and he did it within the framework of several principles. Ibn al-Wazr examined the issue both from this perspective and within the context of what the prohibition does not cover, whereas the issue is primarily discussed in the commentaries of the hadith sources and the works of Salafi scholars. The author, who addressed the issue under a different heading, listed ten hadiths that he believed to be the foundation for this ban, provided information about their degree of reliability, and then offered his opinions on how they should be interpreted. He did this while using comparison to explain what can and cannot be attributed to the prohibition stated in the relevant hadiths. He based part of the evidence that discussing predestination would not be fully prohibited, as well as the prohibition’s core on the article of engaging in bid‘at and inciting evil.
Pek çok meselede görüş ayrılığına düşen Ehl-i Sünnet ile Mu‛tezile arasındaki tartışma konularından birini de ilâhî emirle ilâhî irâde arasındaki ilişki mevzuu teşkil etmektedir. Bu konuda görüş ...beyan edenler arasında Eş‛arî kelâmcısı Selmân en-Nîsâbûrî de bulunmaktadır. Önce mezhebinin konuyla ilgili yaklaşımını aktaran müellif, sonrasında aksi bir kanaate sahip olan Mu‛tezile’nin Allah’ın emrettiği iman, ibadet ve güzel davranışların, kullarından da aynı şekilde vukuunu irâde ettiği görüşünü benimsediklerini açıklamaktadır. Bu hususta Mu‛tezile adına temel olarak üç argümana yer vermektedir. Onların bu kanıtlarından ilkini, emir ile irâdenin birbirinden ayrı yönde olmasının imkânsızlığı, ikincisini ise kötülüğü murat etmenin de kötü olması üzerine bina ettiklerini belirtmektedir. Nihayet üçüncü olarak da Allah’ın, kullarının iyiliğini isteyip, kötülüklerini murat etmeyeceği muhtevasındaki ayetlerden istidlalde bulunduklarını ifade etmektedir.
Nîsâbûrî, Mu‛tezile’ye nispet ettiği bu delilleri, hemen bir cevapla geçiştirmemekte, ayrıca kendisinin vereceği cevaba yönelik gelebilecek muhtemel itirazları da gündemine almaktadır. Özellikle onlara izafe ettiği ilk delil üzerinden tartışmayı oldukça kapsamlı bir hale getirmektedir. Bu manada o, âmirin emrettiğine aykırı bir irâdeye sahip olamayacağı şeklindeki Mu‛tezile argümanını, emrinin yerine gelmesini istemeyen birtakım âmir örnekleri üzerinden çürütmeye çalışmaktadır. Bu konuda bir kısım itirazları da aktaran Nîsâbûrî, ortada emir-irâde uyumunun zorunluluğuna yönelik iddia varken, bu iddia sahiplerinin, kendi görüşlerinin aksini gösteren örneklere itiraz geliştirmelerinin tutarlı olmadığını belirtmektedir. Diğer bir ifadeyle ilgili örneklerin Mu‛tezile’nin zaruret iddiasını geçersiz kıldığını söylemektedir.
Nîsâbûrî, tartışmanın ileri safhalarında işin içerisine neshi de dâhil etmekte, bir hükmün kaldırılması anlamı taşıyan neshin, onların emir-irâde zorunluluğu anlayışına darbe vurduğunu savunmaktadır. Müellif, yine Mu‛tezile’nin irâdenin, emre aykırı olması durumunda asi ile itaatkârın karışacağı, dolayısıyla bunların uyumlu olması gerektiği muhtevasındaki yaklaşımını da hususi mahiyette incelemektedir. Bu iddia, kâfirlerin küfrüyle Allah’ın irâdesine itaat ettikleri anlamı tazammun ettiği için burada özellikle itaatin irâdeye değil, emre ittiba ile sağlanacağı yönünde açıklamalar getirmektedir. Öte yandan müellif, ilgili ayetlere bakılıp orada Allah’ın (kimi) kâfirlerin iman etmesini dilemediği görüldüğünde, aslında bir tartışmaya mahal kalmadığını vurgulayarak da muhataplarını ilzam etmeye çalışmaktadır.
Nîsâbûrî, Mu‛tezile’nin, ilâhî emirle ilâhî irâdenin muvafakat zorunluluğu hususunda kötülüğü dilemenin de kötülük olduğu şeklinde getirdikleri argümanı da incelemektedir. Bu konuda nispeten muhtasar açıklamalar yapan Nîsâbûrî, öncelikle bu delilin kaynağına işaret ederek ona şahit âlemden hareketle ulaşıldığını ifade etmektedir. Ardından bu hususta şâhit âlemle gâip âlemin aynı şekilde değerlendirilemeyeceği yönünde bazı açıklamalar getirmekte, Müslümanlar aleyhine gerçekleşen dünyevî işlerden Allah’ın sefahatine çıkarım yapılmadığına dikkat çekmektedir.
Nîsâbûrî, Mu‛tezile’nin Allah’ın kullarının hiçbir şekilde kötülüğünü dilemeyeceği muhtevalı ayetler üzerinden ilâhî irâde ile ilâhî emrin muvafakatine delil getirmesini de ele almaktadır. Bu aşamada müellif, daha çok ilgili ayetlerin başka şekilde değerlendirilmeye müsait olduğu yönünde yorumlar yapmaktadır. Bunun için kimi zaman dilsel açıklamalar getirmekte, kimi zaman diğer ayetlerin içeriğine atıf yapmakta, kimi zaman da istidlalde bulunulan ayetten maksut olan manaya işaret etmektedir. Hepsinde de nihai olarak, Mu‛tezile tarafından gündeme getirilen ayetlerin, onları desteklemediğini göstermeye çalışmaktadır.
Nîsâbûrî, ilgili kanıtları bir yandan bu şekilde hususi olarak çürütmekteyken, diğer yandan Mu‛tezile’nin savunduğu görüşün kabulü halinde doğacak sıkıntılara işaret etmektedir. Bu manada mezkûr görüşün, Allah’ın istemediği işlerin de vukuu anlamına geleceğine, bunun ise ilâhî hâkimiyete halel getireceğine dikkat çekmektedir. Sonuç itibariyle en azından Allah’ın iman etmeyeceğini bildiği kullarına dönük emriyle irâdesinin aynı yönde olmadığının altını çizmektedir.
One of the issues of discussion between Ahl al-Sunnah and the Mu‛tazila, who differ in many issues, is the relationship between divine command and divine will. Among those who express their opinion on is the Ash‛arī theologian Salmān al-Nīsābūrī. The author, who first cites his sect’s approach on this issue and then explains that Mu‛tazila’s contrary view, adopted the view that the belief, which follows as worship and good deeds commanded by Allah will be the same from his servants. In this matter he basically elaborates three arguments the Mu‛tazila. He states that they build the first of these proofs on the impossibility of the commandment and the will being in a separate direction, and secondly on the fact that the desire for evil is bad. Finally, he adds that they bring evidence from the verses which translates as Allah desires the good of his servants and doesn’t intend his evil deeds.
Nīsābūrī, doesn’t pass on these Mu‛tazilite proofs with an immediate answer, but also puts on his agenda possible other objections to those answers that he is giving. He makes the debate very comprehensive, especially on the first evidence he attributes to them. In this sense, he tries to refute the Mu‛tazila argument that the ruler cannot have a will contrary to what he ordered, based on some other rulers who would not want their orders to be fulfilled. Nīsābūrī, who cites some other objections on this issue, states that while there are claims regarding the necessity of order-will harmony, it isn’t consistent that these claimants develop their objections to the examples that show the opposite of their views. In other words, he says that these regarding cases invalidate Mu‛tazila’s claim of necessity.
Nīsābūrī includes abrogation in the later stages of the debate and argues that abrogation, which means the abolition of a decree, hits a blow to their understanding of the necessity of order-will. The author also takes objections to his agenda and responds to them. He also examines Mu‛tazila’s approach on the content that if the will is contrary to the order, the rebel and the submissive will be confused, so they must be compatible. Since this claim confirms the meaning that the unbelievers obey Allah’s will with their blasphemy, he makes explanations that obedience will be achieved by order, not by will. On the other hand, the author tries to bind his interlocutors by emphasizing that there’s no room for discussion when it is seen at the relevant verses and seen that Allah doesn’t wish (some) unbelievers to believe.
Nīsābūrī, also examines the argument made by Mu‛tazila as to the necessity of conformity between divine command and divine will, that wishing for evil is also evil. Nīsābūrī, who makes relatively more concise explanations on this subject, pointing to the source of this evidence and stating that it is reached from the realm of the perceptible (qiyas bi’l-shāhid). Then, he makes some explanations that the visible realm and the invisible realm cannot be evaluated in the same way and draws attention to the fact that Allah’s being unwise isn’t inferred from the worldly affairs that are happening against Muslims.
Nīsābūrī also deals with Mu‛tazila’s evidence for the harmony of divine will and divine order through verses stating that Allah wouldn’t wish his servants to harm. At this stage, he makes comments that the relevant verses are suitable to be evaluated in another way. For this, sometimes makes linguistic explanations, sometimes refers to the content of other verses, and sometimes points to the meaning of the verse used as the evidence. In all of them, he ultimately tries to show that the verses raised by Mu‛tazila do not support their claim.
While the author refutes those evidences, he also points out the problems that may arise if the view defended by Mu‛tazila would accepted. In this sense, Nīsābūrī points out that this view will also mean the occurrence of deeds that Allah does not want, and this would bring harm to the divine judgement. As a result, Nīsābūrī underlines that at least Allah’s order towards His servants, whom He knows won’t believe, isn’t in the same direction.

Infection is a serious cause of mortality in febrile neutropenia of pediatric cancer patients. Recently, monotherapy has replaced the combination therapy in empirical treatment of febrile ...neutropenia. Since there has been no reported trial comparing the efficacy of meropenem and piperacillin-tazobactam (PIP/ TAZ) monotherapies, the present retrospective study was conducted to compare safety and efficacy in febrile neutropenic children with cancer.
Charts of febrile, neutropenic children hospitalized at our center between March 2008 and April 2011 for hemato-oncological malignancies were reviewed. Patients received PIP/TAZ 360 mg/kg/day or meropenem 60 mg/kg/day intravenously in three divided doses. Duration of fever and neutropenia, absolute neutrophil count, modification, and success rate were compared between the two groups. Resolution of fever without antibiotic change was defined as success and resolution of fever with antibiotic change or death of a patient was defined as failure. Modification was defined as changing the empirical antimicrobial agent during a febrile episode.
Two hundred eighty four febrile neutropenic episodes were documented in 136 patients with a median age of 5 years. In 198 episodes meropenem and in 86 episodes PIP/ TAZ were used. Duration of fever and neutropenia, neutrophil count, sex, and primary disease were not different between two groups. Success rates and modification rate between two groups showed no significant differences (p>0.05). Overall success rate in the meropenem and PIP/TAZ groups were 92.4% and 91.9% respectively. No serious adverse effects occurred in either of the groups.
Meropenem and PIP/TAZ monotherapy are equally safe and effective in the initial treatment of febrile neutropenia in children with cancer.
Son dönem Osmanlı ulemasının önemli simalarından biri olan Çerkeşşeyhizâde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi, ilim ve tasavvuf ehli bir ailenin evladı olarak 1242/1826 yılında Ankara’da dünyaya gelmiş-tir. İlk ...tahsilini doğduğu şehirde aldıktan sonra İstanbul’a gelmiş, burada Vidinli Mustafa Efendi ile Hafız Seyyid Efendi gibi âlimlerin derslerini takip ederek onlardan icazet almıştır. İmparatorluğun çeşitli bölgelerinde mevleviyet görevlerinde bulunmuş, Medine’de kadılık yapmış, sonrasın-da Ankara’ya dönerek müderrislik yapmıştır. Bunların dışında çeşitli vazifelerde de bulunmuş, en son 1899 yılında sırasıyla önce Anadolu sonra da Rumeli Kazaskerliği payesi ile taltif edilmiştir. 1901 yılında vefat eden müellif, İstanbul Aksaray’da defnolunmuştur.Ardında sarf, nahiv, edebiyat, sağlık, fıkıh, mantık, felsefe, tasavvuf ve kelâm alanında çoğu risale tarzında pek çok eser bırakan Çerkeşşeyhizâde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi, İslâm inancının en temel meselelerine dair görüş beyan etmiştir. Bu manada tevhîd konusunda da fikirlerini dile getirmiş-tir. O, tevhîde adeta giriş sadedinde önce birliğini ortaya koyacağı ilahın varlığını (isbât-ı vâcib) ispat etmeye çalışmış, bu manada açıklamalarını özellikle vâcib, mümkün ve mümteni kısımların-dan oluşan varlık mertebeleri üzerine yoğunlaştırmıştır. Bu kavramlardan hareketle oluşturduğu öncüllere bağlı olarak bir zorunlu varlığın gerekliliğini akli yoldan ispat etmiştir. Sonrasında evrendeki düzene delalet eden bir kısım âyetlerden yola çıkarak bir ilahın varlığının zorunlu olduğunu göstermeye çalışmıştır.Müellif, tevhîd konusunu işlerken onun mahiyeti, zat-sıfat ilişkisi, aklın tek başına bu ilkeye ulaş-masının imkânını ele almış, ayrıca filozofların sudur teorisinin tevhîd düşüncesi bağlamında bir değerlendirmesini yapmıştır. Bu meselelerle ilgili olarak o, tevhîdi, Allah’ın vâcibü’l-vücûd, yaratıcı ve ma‛bud olma hususunda birliği olarak açıklamıştır. Yine Allah’ın sıfatlarının O’nun zatının ne aynı ne de gayrı olduğunu ifade ederek tevhîd düşüncesinin zedelenmesinin önüne geçmeye çalışmıştır. Bu konuda İslâm filozoflarının sudur anlayışı çerçevesinde ortaya koydukları görüşlerin cisimlerin kadimliği düşüncesini beraberinde getirdiği için onların İslâm’ın tevhîd anlayışından uzaklaştıklarını savunmuştur. Onun bu konuda ilgisini yoğunlaştırdığı temel mesele ise şüphesiz tevhîd delilleri olmuştur. Bu manada öncelikle Allah’ın varlığını ispat aşamasında yer verdiği vâcib/zorunlu kavramından hareketle O’nun birliğini ortaya koymaya çalışmıştır. Bu aşamada önce âlemin mümkün varlık olmasından yola çıkarak onun zorunlu bir varlığa ihtiyaç duyduğunu ifade etmiştir. Sonra da O’nun yokluğunu tasavvur etmenin açmazlara neden olduğunu belirterek vâcib/zorunlu varlığın gerekliliğini göstermiştir. Bu noktada O’nun kendisi gibi ikinci bir farazi ilahın yokluğunu dü-şünmenin ise hiçbir sıkıntıya yol açmadığını ifade ile o vâcib varlığın bir olduğunun anlaşıldığını belirtmiştir.Çerkeşşeyhizâde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi, tevhîd delilleri içerisinde en çok burhân-ı temânuʽ delili üzerinde durmuştur. Kur’ân kaynaklı olması, selef ulemanın da ona ağırlık vermesi müellifin bu tercihinde etkili olmuşa benzemektedir. Bu delil, varlığı zorunluğu ilahın yanında farazi bir ilahın daha varlığının kabul edilmesi halinde, aralarında çıkacak bir ihtilaf ihtimali ve bunun neticesi üzerinden ortaya konan bir kanıttır. Müellif de bu minvalde delili aktarır. Buna göre ilahlardan biri, bir varlığın hareketini, diğeri onun sükununu murat ettiğinde, ikisinin de dediği olursa, bu bir şeyin aynı anda iki zıt niteliği üzerinde taşıması anlamı içereceği için mümkün değildir. İkisi-nin de dediği olmazsa ilahlığa zıt acizlik durumu ortaya çıkacağı için bu seçenek de söz konusu olamaz. Şayet sadece birinin dediği olursa, diğerinin yine acizliği ortaya çıkıp ilahlık iddiası orta-dan kalkacağı için dediği olan ilah olur ve bu ilahlığında tek kalmış olur. Müellif, bu konuda ilgili delili aktardığı gibi onun kesinlik bildirip bildirmediği hakkında da fikir beyan etmiştir. Ayrıca bu delili yanlış aktardığını düşündüğü bazı şahsiyetlere yönelik itirazlarını da dile getirmiştir.Müellifin bu konuda yer verdiği bir diğer tevhîd delili ise daha çok İmam Mâtürîdî ile özdeşleşen bir kanıttır. Buna göre bir olduğunu iddia eden ilahın peygamberi olan zatın, kendi davasını ispat için gösterdiği mucize, aynı zamanda o ilahın birliğinin de ispatı mahiyetinde iken, diğer farazi ilahın bu konuda sessiz kalması, ilahın bir olduğunu ispat eder. Müellif, birden fazla ilahın ayrı mülkler üzerinde ilahlık iddia etmesi halinde de ortaya çıkacak cehalet ve acizlik gibi birtakım açmazlardan hareketle ilahın bir olduğunu göstermeye çalışır. Yine birden fazla ilahın varlığını kabul halinde önce onlardan birinin diğerinden ya eksik ya da diğerine denk olacağı seçeneklerini ortaya koyar. İlk ihtimali eksik varlığın ilah olamayacağı teziyle devre dışı bırakır. Denk olması halinde ise, varlığını müşahede ettiğimiz âlemin ya varlık kazanamayacağını ya da olup da varlık kazanırsa bu kez ilahların arasında ihtilafın çıkacağını, bunun da âlemin nizamını ortadan kaldıra-cağı için onun da mümkün olmadığını ifade eder. Ona göre bunların neticesinde ilahın bir olduğu ortaya çıkar.Müellif, bu delillerin dışında tevhîde aykırı unsurlar barından tabiatçı anlayışı ve ilaha bir evlat isnat eden yaklaşımı da ele alıp inceler. Bu manada ilk yaklaşımı daha çok belirsizlik içeren tabiat kavramına büyük bir misyon yüklemeleri ve evrendeki düzeni ilim, idrak ve şuur gibi özelliklerden uzak olan tabiat ile açıklamaları üzerinden eleştirir. Allah’a isnat edilen evladı ise o, ister bir nutfe aracılığıyla isterse başka bir şekilde oluşsun, sonuç itibariyle burada mutlaka hâdisliğin gündeme geleceği teziyle tenkit eder.
Çerkeşşeyhizāde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi (Cherkessheyhi-Zāde Meḥmed Tawfīq Afandī), who is one of the important figures of the recent Ottoman ulama, was born in Ankara in 1242/1826 as the son of a family with knowledge and tasawwuf. After receiving his first education in the city where he was born, he moved to Istanbul, where he followed the lessons of scholars such as Vidinli Mustafa Efendi (Vidinli Muṣṭafā Afandī) and Hafız Seyyid Efendi (Ḥāfiẓ Sayyid Afandī) and received ijazat from them. He served as a Mawlawiyāt Qadi (the highest judge/qadi) in various parts of the empi-re, served as a qadi in Madinah, then returned to Ankara and became a professor. Apart from these, he also served in various positions, and was awarded with the rank of Anatolia and then Rumelia Qāḍī-‘askar (highest ranking qadi’s of the Ottoman judiciary) in 1899, respectively. He died in 1901 and was buried in Aksaray, Istanbul.Çerkeşşeyhizde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi, who left behind many works in the style of treatises in the fields of grammar (sarf), nahw (syntax), literature, health, fiqh, logic, philosophy, mysticism and kalām, expressed his views on the most fundamental issues of the Islamic faith. In this sense, he also expressed his opinions on tawḥīd. He tried to prove the existence of the God (ithbat al-wajib), which he will reveal in unity in the way of entry, in this sense, he focused his explanations especially on the rankings of existence consisting of necessary, possible and impossible. He pro-ved the necessity of a necessary being in a rational inferences by depending on the premises he created based on these concepts. After that, he tried to ground that necessity of the existence of a God, based on some verses that indicate the order in the universe. While examining the subject of tawḥīd, the he discussed its nature, the relation between dhāt (essence) and atributes, the possibility of the reason reaching this principle alone and also made an evaluation of the sudūr (emanation) theory of philosophers in the context of the idea of tawḥīd. Regarding these issues, he explained the tawḥīd as the oneness of Allah about being wajib al-wujûd, creator and maʽbood. He also tried to prevent the jeopardise of the doctrine of tawḥīd by expressing that the attributes of Allah are neither the same nor the informal of His dhāt. He argued that the views put forward by Muslim philosophers in the framework of the understanding of sudūr doctrine cause the idea of the eternal of objects, by doing so they have distanced themselves from the understanding of tawḥīd of Islam. The main issue on which he focused on was undoubtedly the proof of tawḥīd. In this sense, he first urged His oneness based on the concept of wajib, which he included at the stage of proving Al-lah’s existence. At this stage, first of all, he stated that the world needs a necessary being, consi-dering that it is possible being. He then demonstrated the necessity of the wajib being by stating that the idea of His absence causes the dilemmas. Then, he stated that assuming the absence of a second hypothetical deity did not lead to any dilemma, and that it was understood that the wajib being must be only one.Çerkeşşeyhizāde Mehmed Tevfik Efendi focused mostly on the burhān al-tamānuʽ (proof of al-tamānuʽ) among the proofs of tawḥīd. The fact that it originated from the Qur'an and that the predecessor scholars gave weight to it seems to have been effective in this preference. This proof is a arguing the possibility of a conflict between them and its outcome if the existence of a hypot-hetical deity is accepted in addition to the existence of God. The author conveys the proof in this manner. According to this, if one of the gods wants the movement of a being and the other wants its quiescent, and both say it, this is not possible because it involves the meaning of something to carry on two opposite qualities at the same time. If neither of said fulfilled, this option is out of the question, as there will be an insolvency contrary to divinity. The muhkam and mutashâbih, which have become a subject of the science of kalam as
well as the fields such as tafsir and usul al-fiqh, have been a subject that has been examined in different dimensions and discussed extensively in the Islamic World. Mutakallimûn
have been involved in this issue with more through khabarî attributes, in this sense, they
have also focused on their wisdom, apart from the description of the mutashâbihs and the
verses covered by them. While examining the question of the wisdom of this kind of verses
which united in his meaning is hidden, sometimes was resorted to known meaning and
unknown mutashâbih in the form of a classification and in some cases, such benefits have
been introduced without the need for such a system. Since the verses concerned cannot be
interpreted, the principle of wisdom, which is revealed by Salafiyya in the form of testing
with silence, was dealt with by the Mu‘tazila, who thought that they could be interpreted,
mainly through the benefit of promoting knowledge and preventing taqleed. The Ash‘ârite
and Mâturîdîte sects have followed a middle path on this subject and they have presented
a whole of wisdom, which varies according to the situation based on the fact that there are
mutashabih verses of both kinds.
In this study, we evaluated the frequency of euthyroid sick syndrome (ESS) among patients with childhood cancer and its association with the stage of disease, nutritional parameters and cytokines ...levels.
Eighty newly diagnosed children were included in the study. ESS was assessed in two different ways. According to criteria 1 ESS was present if free triiodothyronine (fT3) was below the lower limit and free thyroxine was within the normal or low limits, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) was in the normal range. According to criteria 2, in addition to the above, it was required that reverse triiodothyronine (rT3) be performed and was higher than normal limits.
Three of our pediatric patients had subclinical hypothyroidism and two had subclinical hyperthyroidism. Out of 75 patients, ESS was identified in 14 (17.3%) according to criteria 1 and in eight (10.6%) according to criteria 2. Only fT3 levels were significantly different in the ESS (+) and ESS (-) groups (p<0.05) according to criteria 1. A significantly negative correlation between interleukin (IL)-6 and fT3 was found, according to both sets of criteria. tumor necrosis factor alpha was negatively correlated with fT3 levels only in the criteria 1 group. There were no correlations between IL-1β and fT3, free thyroxine, rT3 and TSH levels.
ESS may occur in childhood cancer and thyroid function testing should be performed routinely when cancer is diagnosed.
The management of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) was investigated with the use of heliox in an experimental model.
To investigate whether heliox can be considered a new therapeutic ...approach in ARDS.
ARDS was designed in Wistar albino male rats, 250-300 g in weight, by intratracheal instillation of physiological saline solution. Anesthezied and tracheotomized rats with ARDS were pressure-controlled ventilated. At the end of 210 min, helium gas was tried. All rats were assigned to two groups: Group 1 (n = 10) was the control group, and was given no treatment; group 2 (n = 7) was given heliox (He: O(2) = 50:50). The heliox group received heliox for 1 h continously. Rats were continued to be kept on a ventilator through the experiment. Two hours after the last inhalation, both lungs of the rats were excised for both histopathological examination and immunohistochemical evaluation.
Histopathological grading were expressed as median interquartile range. Mann-Whitney U-test was used to assess the relationships between the variables.
The infiltation of neutrophils were decreased in rats treated with heliox. Edema in the interstitial and intraalveolar areas was less than that of the control rats. Also, the diminishing of perivascular and/or intraalveolar hemorrhage was apperant. Hyaline membrane (HM) formation decreased in the heliox group compared with the control group. Decreased inducible nitric oxide synthase expression was shown via immunohistochemical examination in the heliox group.
The present study histopathologically indicated the effectiveness of heliox in the decreasing of neutrophil infiltation, interstitial/intraalveolar edema, perivascular and/or intraalveolar hemorrhage and HM formation in ARDS. Besides the known effect of heliox in obstructive lung disease, inhaled heliox therapy could be associated with the improvement of inflamation in ARDS.
Abstract
Objectives
Recent studies have shown that the neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) is a new inflammatory marker that is effective in determining the prognosis of many solid tumors, ...chemotherapy responses, survival, and their recurrence rate. Therefore, we performed a retrospective study to investigate the effect of neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte and platelet‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (PLR) on risk factors and prognosis in these patients.
Materials and methods
In this study, 246 pediatric patients with neuroblastoma who were diagnosed, treated, and followed up during 2000–2021 in Division of Pediatric Oncology, Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, were included. Required information of patients was obtained from archive files, Mergentech hospital program, and E‐pulse system.
Results
Median value for NLR was found to be 1.06, for PLR it was found as 92. The relationship of NLR values with age, stage, risk group, and Shimada was found to be statistically signifıcant with

= .006) also depicted the signifıcant value. Likewise, the relationship of PLR values with age (

= .039) was found to be statistically significant as well. Survival analysis showed that no statistically significant difference was observed among the higher and lower values of NLR. Survival rates were noticed to be higher in the lower values of NLR (10‐year overall survival OS 55% vs. 49%, 10‐year event‐free survival (EFS) 54% vs. 43%), albeit nonsignificant.
Conclusion
Pretreatment evaluation of NLR and PLR values in patients with neuroblastoma may be instructive in respect of prognosis and risk group.
Purpose: The aim of this article is to show the expression and methylation levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) and vascular endothelial growth ...factor (VEGF)genes in patients diagnosed with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and their relationship with clinical findings.
Materials and Methods: In this study, we determined the expression level and methylation percentage of MMP2, MMP9, TIMP1, TIMP2 and VEGF-A genes between patients with childhood ALL and healthy children. Expression and methylation analyzes were performed by RT-PCR. The results of MMP2, MMP9, TIMP1, TIMP2, VEGF-A and other clinical parameters were compared between the two groups.
Results: The expression levels of MMP2 (2.55-fold), MMP9 (5.06-fold), TIMP1 (2.91-fold) and VEGF-A (4.76-fold) was significantly higher in the patients, but the same results were not found for TIMP-2. The methylation levels of MMP2 (29.74%), MMP9 (30.98%), TIMP2 (11.91%) and VEGF-A (6.55%) were significantly higher in the patients than in the controls. Conclusion: MMP2, MMP9 and VEGF-A genes have high expression and methylation levels. These results make this complex structure intriguing in childhood ALL for further studies and reinforce the emphasis that it should be investigated.
