The effect of the rolling temperature and strain on the structure and the properties of corrosionresistant austenitic–martensitic 14Kh15AN4M steel is studied. The steel is shown to exhibit high ...ductility: upon rolling in the temperature range 700–1100°C at a reduction per pass up to 80%, wedge steel specimens are uniformly deformed along and across the rolling direction without cracking and other surface defects. Subsequent cold treatment and low-temperature tempering ensure a high hardness of the steel (50–56
HRC
). Austenite mainly contributes to the hardening upon rolling in the temperature range 700–800°C at a reduction of 50–70%, and martensite makes the main contribution at higher temperatures and lower strains. Texture does not form under the chosen deformation conditions, which indicates dynamic recrystallization with the nucleation and growth of grains having no preferential orientation.
The Founder and Publisher became aware of a potential apparent conflict of interest – it is assumed that it is not entirely correct to continue to be the Editor-in-Chief at the “Epilepsy and ...Paroxysmal Conditions” Journal, being a member of the founders of an organization that has registered another journal with similar name. Therefore, the Founder of the “Epilepsy and Paroxysmal Conditions” Journal was forced to refuse further cooperation with the Editor-in-Chief. Information about a new Editor-in-Chief will be brought in a separate order. Also, informational support of any public organizations by the journal is suspended until the situation is clarified. The entire cycle of editorial processes is now fully controlled by the Irbis LLC. No changes in the operating team occurred. The “Epilepsy and Paroxysmal Conditions” Journal continues to be published as usual.
Gallium-containing chlorite, mica, and magnetite (up to 14, 13, and 5–7 wt % of Ga) along with Ga hydroxides (oxyhydroxides?) were found for the first time in massive sulfide deposit in the Urals. ...The minerals identified within the cement of chalcopyrite–sphalerite breccias of the Shemur copper–zinc–massive sulfide deposit (Northern Urals) are associated with Ga-enriched sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and, less commonly, pyrite (33–364, 67–363, and 4–230 g/t, respectively).

Preeclampsia (PE) is a multisystemic disease that has been recorded as a complication in up to 15 % of pregnancies being lead cause of maternal mortality worldwide. Despite that PE pathophysiology ...has not been fully elucidated, it is currently believed that the endothelial dysfunction and pro-inflammatory status play a key role in its development, which account for impaired implantation processes as well as trophoblast invasion during placentation. Altogether, it results in developing generally accepted clinical symptoms “triad”: arterial hypertension, proteinuria, and edema. PE is also characterized by clotting disorders that cause an increased risk of maternal venous thromboembolism. It should be remembered that the related risk may be markedly elevated in the postpartum period. The mechanisms underlying the development of thrombosis high risk remain to be fully investigated, albeit upregulated expression of procoagulant factors, endothelial dysfunction, compromised endogenous anticoagulant activity, and increased platelet activity result in prothrombotic predisposition.
We report the clinical case of esophageal cancer development in the patient who previously underwent bilateral lung transplantation. The oncological disease was characterized by extremely rapid ...growth; despite the regular post-transplant examination, esophageal cancer was diagnosed in IV stage (liver metastases). The tumor was complicated by recurrent massive bleeding. For that reason, according to vital indications, a subtotal esophagectomy with a plasty by wide gastric tube was performed. The postoperative period was uneventful. The postoperative chemotherapy was carried out and stabilization achieved.
Purpose
: to determine the main characteristics of the mydriatic effect of drug formulations of phenylephrine, containing and not containing hypromellose, hyaluronic acid as an auxiliary component, ...in a comparative in vivo study, as well as to study their local bioavailability and the effect on the mucous membrane of the eye.
Materials and methods
. The studies were carried out on 40 adult male Soviet Chinchilla rabbits. The research model involved the mydriatic impact and the local irritant effect of the drug when instilled into the awake rabbit’s conjunctival sac. The peak concentration of phenylephrine, which is part of all formulations studied, was determined in the aqueous humor of the anterior chamber of the animal's eye at the 5-minute point by high-performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometric detection.
Results
. A single instillation of 1 drop of a 2.5% solution of phenylephrine hydrochloride containing hypromellose as an excipient is superior in depth, rate of reaching the maximum mydriatic effect and its duration to the formulation that does not contain hypromellose as an excipient. Only in a few cases, drug formulations containing hypromellose caused an insignificant weak reaction of eyelid closure, in contrast to a moderate local irritant reaction of the rabbit's eye occurring when phenylephrine solution without hypromellose is instilled. Peak concentrations of phenylephrine in the aqueous humor of the anterior chamber of the eye determined 5 minutes after instillation of 1 drop of 2.5% phenylephrine solutions containing hypromellose significantly exceed those occurring when phenylephrine drugs of the same concentration that do not contain hypromellose are instilled.
Conclusion
. The inclusion of hypromellose as an auxiliary substance into the formulation of phenylephrine eye drops optimizes the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of the active substance due to faster penetration into the eye anterior chamber aqueous humor, increasing local bioavailability and prolonging the exposure time. In addition, the absence of a local irritating effect of such forms on the eye tissues may also be explained by the presence of hypromellose.

Assessment of fetal cardiac function is one of the essential components of fetal echocardiography. Functional impairment is associated with a high risk of adverse perinatal outcomes and even ...antenatal death. Prenatal detection of hemodynamics changes requires immediate prenatal actions to identify the causes and eliminate the consequences that may require conservative treatment, intrauterine surgical treatment, and early delivery in perinatal centers.
The effect of a cerebroprotective agent magnesium bis-aminoethanesulfonate (laboratory code FS-LKhT-317) on intracellular calcium concentration was studied by the fluorescent imaging technique on ...neuroglial cell culture from Spraque-Dawley rat hippocampus. The substance produced a pronounced inhibitory effect and suppressed NMDA receptor activity in concentrations of ≥50 μM. The observed effects were reversible or partially reversible and were detected by a decrease in Ca
2+
signal amplitude in neurons in response to NMDA applications in a Mg
2+
-free medium and by inhibition of Ca
2+
pulses in magnesium-free medium (elimination of magnesium block).
Microinclusions of ore minerals were found and studied in grains of native gold for characterization of the mineralogy of placer gold of the South Urals. One hundred ten unrounded and poorly rounded ...grains with a size of 1–2 mm from eight placer zones were studied. Microinclusions of ore minerals were detected in six placers of the Miass zone. The list of minerals includes sulfides, arsenides, Cu-bearing Au, and PGEs. All microinclusions show links to certain deposits of ore gold and chromite occurrences. It is suggested that the northern flanges of the Talovsky and Nurali massifs containing gold placers with PGEs require a search for PGE mineralization.
—The aquatic surface microlayer at the interface between the atmosphere and the hydrosphere occupies 70% of the Earth’s surface, covering all water bodies. The surface microlayer is about 50 μm ...thick. The special microbial community formed here is referred to as neuston. The total bacterial abundance in the surface microlayer (SML) and underlying waters (UW) of Lake Baikal was studied by epifluorescence microscopy. The physicochemical features of the surface microlayer of Lake Baikal have been established for the first time. SML was sampled throughout all of Lake Baikal in May–June of 2013–2016 and in August of 2013, 2015, and 2016. SML samples were taken from a boat with Garret’s metal mesh screen (26.5 cm in diameter) mostly in calm weather. The average values of total bacterial abundance in SML varied from year to year within the range of (0.93–1.49) × 10
6
cells/mL in May–June and (1.73–2.24) × 10
6
cells/mL in August; in the UW (at a depth of about 15–20 cm), these values were 0.79–0.89 × 10
6
cells/mL in May–June and 1.15–1.4 × 10
6
cells/mL in August. There was a significant difference and direct relationship between the total abundances of neuston and plankton bacteria of Lake Baikal in the summer period. The differences in chemical composition between the surface microlayer and the subsurface water layer were revealed in all the seasons under study. The surface microlayer was enriched in
, total organic carbon, and suspended particulate matter compared to the underlying water layers. There was a direct relationship between bacterial numbers in the surface microlayer and the concentration of suspended particulate matter.
