Increasing the efficiency of production planning is a very hot topic from the perspective of introducing lean production into manufacturing. Simulation study dealing with simulation application for ...production planning support is a fundament for enhancing production systems and reduction of bottleneck occurrences. The article describes the possibilities of using computer simulation during production scheduling. A developed simulation model is adapted for dynamic loading of production plans for a given time period. Based on the simulation output, it is possible to verify production process and conduct additional simulation experiments. Changes in simulation model inputs result in changes on simulation (production) outputs, these can be easily compared with outputs of the original versions of production plans due to their archiving. The aim was to develop a simulation model which, after consequent adapting, will be used for creation of production plans in the future. The created model is ready for swift loading of incoming data and their consecutive evaluation through simulations with subsequent imaging diagram and output statistics. The developed simulation model can be fully controlled via a GUI (Graphical User Interface) which is fully opened for implementation of further optimization and scheduling algorithm with the aim of future enhancement of the simulation model. The simulation was created in collaboration with INNOV8 Ltd. via Plants Simulation software.
The article deals with integrating the inertial navigation unit implemented into the system of controlling the robot. It analyses the dynamic properties of the sensors of the inertial unit, for ...example, gyroscopes and accelerometers. The implementation of the original system of controlling the mobile robot on the basis of autonomous navigation systems is a dominant part of the article. The integration of navigational information represents the actual issue of reaching higher accuracy of required navigational parameters using more or less accurate navigation systems. The inertial navigation is the navigation based on uninterrupted evaluation of the position of a navigated object by utilizing the sensors that are sensitive to motion, that is, gyroscopes and accelerometers, which are regarded as primary inertial sensors or other sensors located on the navigated object.
Calculation of complex curves with high accuracy is challenging. The curve is approximated by segments of straight lines and carried out smoothing. A new method of analytic geometry to calculate the ...trajectories of mechatronic systems and CAD/CAM is offered. The theoretical basis of the method is symmetries in the Euclidean plane. The method can accurately calculate the trajectory for the centrally symmetric conic sections and, in some cases, arbitrary differentiable planar curves. The method gives an accurate analytical solution without using radicals. This allows you to find the formulaic dependencies for further calculations. The existence of Lissajous figures allows assuming the presence of a universal method of calculation of complex trajectories based on planar differentiable curves. Some examples of the design of the kinematic mechanisms are presents additionally.
A haptic interface is a kinaesthetic link between a human and some real or virtual environment. In this article, we discuss whether the haptic technology (virtually touching objects and feeling ...forces) could be effectively implemented in the industrial applications. As an example, we will examine the virtual wall which is a fundamental component of almost all virtual objects. Typically, it is based on a simple spring and damper model with constraints that allow the user to make contact with an object. Various factors lead to an unstable behaviour in a controlled system such as the virtual wall. Main causes of disturbances are the sensor (e.g. the signal resolution) and the actuator (e.g. the dynamics of the system which are not covered by the controller design). Some of these disturbance mechanisms can be excluded by mechanical design, and others are more difficult to eliminate – following two are discussed in the article: First one is the zero-order hold effect caused by sampling and the second one is the shifted synchronization of the wall threshold crossings with the sampling times. Both have unwanted effects on the sampled data within the virtual wall system.
The paper presents the results of a numerical analysis of the stress-strain state of a rope strand with linear contact under tension and torsion loading conditions. Calculations are done using the ...ANSYS software package. Different approaches to calculation of the stress-strain state of ropes are reviewed, and their advantages and deficiencies are considered. The analysis of the obtained results leads us to the conclusion that the proposed method can be used in engineering calculations.
The subject of this paper is the solution to specific problems in the measurement of the coefficient of the sliding friction of material pairs using a variable incidence tribometer. The aim of this ...work was to solve the questions of the measurement of the static coefficient of friction using a variable incidence tribometer from the perspective of metrology. In particular, we intended to research the expression of the credibility of this measurement and the possibility of increasing the credibility of the measurement. Another problem that needs to be solved is the method of carrying out the measurement, which has an impact on its achieved uncertainty. Sliding friction is a phenomenon that depends on many material properties such as contact area roughness, moisture, lubricants, temperature, and relative motion velocity. If environmental conditions are defined, the main input parameter is the relative motion velocity. For this input quantity, friction force becomes a symmetrical problem, and it is only necessary to explore this phenomenon for positive values of velocities. Symmetry in this area simplifies the research of this science topic.
This paper presents the technology of production of synthetic fibrous materials from PET-raw by vertical blowing method. Fibre production by vertical blowing method is accompanied by complex and ...specific phenomena; therefore, development of new progressive technologies, high-performance machines and units for producing such materials is impossible without process modelling, which can significantly reduce the number of natural tests, cost and designing time and select optimal operating modes. Molten material motion in the melting unit of the hydrostatic type is determined by means of Poiseuille formula. Furthermore, the paper has proven that the melting unit has the greatest impact on process productivity by means of outlet radius and the pressure change of compressed air acting on the molten material surface. Increase in the height of the molten material column in the main cylindrical chamber of melting unit also leads to an increase in process productivity.
