We report on a search for eleven lepton-number violating processes B + → X − ℓ + ℓ ' + with X − = K − , π − , ρ − , K * − , or D − and ℓ + / ℓ ' + = e + or μ + , using a sample of 471 ± 3 million B ¯ ...B events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e + e − collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We find no evidence for any of these modes and place 90% confidence level upper limits on their branching fractions in the range ( 1.5 - 26 ) × 1 0 − 7 .
Governments face enormous challenges in managing escalating expenditures under their prescription drug plans while providing access to new, cost effective therapies. Strategies to address cost ...pressures must be considered carefully, however, to ensure the achievement of optimum health outcomes. Alberta has adopted an inclusive approach in addressing utilization and cost issues through a variety of advisory processes and initiatives supported by the Minister of Health and Wellness. The Expert Committee on Drug Evaluation and Therapeutics advises the Minister on Alberta's government-sponsored drug programs and related policy matters. The Alberta Management Committee on Drug Utilization, co-chaired by the Alberta Medical Association and the Pharmacists Association of Alberta, is mandated to oversee the implementation of a number of drug utilization initiatives. The Pharmaceutical Information Network is the cornerstone project of Alberta Wellnet, supported by a unique multistakeholder task force that includes physicians, pharmacists, representatives from health regions and government. Recent successful program launches in Alberta include a palliative drug program, trial prescription program and the multiple sclerosis drug program. Successes in Alberta reinforce the importance of government's role in achieving optimum pharmacotherapy. This role can only be undertaken in collaboration with key stakeholders.
We measure the direct C P violation asymmetry, A C P , in B → X s γ and the isospin difference of the asymmetry, Δ A C P , using 429 fb − 1 of data collected at Υ ( 4 S ) resonance with the BABAR ...detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e + e − storage rings operating at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. B mesons are reconstructed from ten charged B final states and six neutral B final states. We find A C P = + ( 1.7 ± 1.9 ± 1.0 ) % , which is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction and provides an improvement on the world average. Moreover, we report the first measurement of the difference between A C P for charged and neutral decay modes, Δ A C P = + ( 5.0 ± 3.9 ± 1.5 ) % . Using the value of Δ A C P , we also provide 68% and 90% confidence intervals on the imaginary part of the ratio of the Wilson coefficients corresponding to the chromomagnetic dipole and the electromagnetic dipole transitions.
We search for the decay Υ ( 1 S ) → γ A 0 , A 0 → g g or s ¯ s , where A 0 is the pseudoscalar light Higgs boson predicted by the next-to-minimal supersymmetric Standard Model. We use a sample of ( ...17.6 ± 0.3 ) × 10 6 Υ ( 1 S ) mesons produced in the BABAR experiment via e + e − → Υ ( 2 S ) → π + π − Υ ( 1 S ) . We see no significant signal and set 90%-confidence-level upper limits on the product branching fraction B ( Υ ( 1 S ) → γ A 0 ) ⋅ B ( A 0 → g g or s ¯ s ) ranging from 10 − 6 to 10 − 2 for A 0 masses in the range 0.5 - 9.0 GeV / c 2 .

We report a measurement of the D 0 meson mass using the decay chain D ∗ ( 2010 ) + → D 0 π + with D 0 → K − K − K + π + . The data were recorded with the BABAR detector at center-of-mass energies at ...and near the Υ ( 4 S ) resonance, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of approximately 477 fb − 1 . We obtain m ( D 0 ) = ( 1864.841 ± 0.048 ± 0.063 ) MeV , where the quoted errors are statistical and systematic, respectively. The uncertainty of this measurement is half that of the best previous measurement.
We report a measurement of the branching fraction of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decay B+ --> omega l+ nu, where l is either an electron or a muon. We use samples of B+ mesons tagged by a ...reconstructed charmed semileptonic decay of the other B meson in the event. The measurement is based on a dataset of 426.1 fb-1 of e+e- collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- storage rings. We measure a branching fraction of BF(B+ --> omega l+ nu) = (1.35 +/- 0.21 +/- 0.11) x 10(-4), where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. We also present measurements of the partial branching fractions in three bins of q2, the invariant-mass squared of the lepton-neutrino system, and we compare them to theoretical predictions of the form factors.
We describe searches for B meson decays to the charmless vector-vector final states ω ω and ω ϕ with 471 × 1 0 6 B ¯ B pairs produced in e + e − annihilation at √ s = 10.58 GeV using the BABAR ...detector at the PEP-II collider at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We measure the branching fraction B ( B 0 → ω ω ) = ( 1.2 ± 0.3 + 0.3 − 0.2 ) × 10 − 6 , where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, corresponding to a significance of 4.4 standard deviations. We also determine the upper limit B ( B 0 → ω ϕ ) < 0.7 × 10 − 6 at 90% confidence level. These measurements provide the first evidence for the decay B 0 → ω ω , and an improvement of the upper limit for the decay B 0 → ω ϕ .
We report on a search in e + e − annihilations for new π 0 -like particles produced in association with a τ -lepton pair. These objects, with a similar mass and similar decay modes to π 0 mesons, ...could provide an explanation for the non-asymptotic behavior of the pion-photon transition form factor observed by the BABAR Collaboration. No significant signal is observed, and limits on the production cross section at the level of 73 fb or 370 fb, depending on the model parameters, are determined at 90% confidence level. These upper limits lie below the cross section values needed to explain the BABAR form factor data.
