ABSTRACTToday, expectations from textile products have increased and the comfort features of clothes have gained more importance, especially for leisure and sports clothes. Therefore, the liquid ...moisture transmission of clothes is quite important, which has a significant effect on the body's ability to cool itself and the user's feeling cold after sweating. A new test instrument “3D-MMD” (3 Dimension Moisture Mapping Device), that measures the liquid moisture transmission feature of the fabrics in multidirection is introduced in this paper. The developed system includes two thermal cameras that allow measurement below and above of the sample. When the test liquid is dropped on the sample, the heat transfer occurs and due to the heat transfer during the transmission of moisture, the surface temperature of wetted and non-wetted parts of the fabric changes. This change is detected in the form of infrared data with the help of thermal cameras and converted into an electronic image. The wet area can be easily created by processing the images of the color visuals coming instantly from the thermal camera. The patent for this new method has been registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office (TR2020/21004). Meanwhile, the international patent application process continues (PCT/TR2021/051223).
The usage of sails is increasing parallel to the sustainability initiatives in marine transportation not only for recreational
craft but also for large vessels carrying commercial goods and ...passengers. In this study, the marine environmental
degradation of the sailcloth which significantly shortens the lifetime of these materials was investigated experimentally.
Dacrons, which are relatively cheap, easy to form, and resistant to breakdown, but problematic to keeping their original
shape while subjected to wind loads, were selected as the sailcloth. The combined effect of seawater exposure,
temperature, UV, wet-dry cycle, water repellent treatment on the Dacron’s mechanical performance was measured by
tensile tests performed for the Dacron specimens with nine different areal weights and in two different fibre directions
(warp and weft) and by dynamical mechanical analysis for a representative Dacron sailcloth. The comparative results
show that the marine environment has significant degradation effects on the mechanical performance of sailcloths.
Acest studiu a fost conceput pentru a explora relația dintre expunerea la soare și proprietățile mecanice ale țesăturilor pentru parapante, care au diferite culori, densități, tipuri de finețe și ...materiale de acoperire. În acest studiu s-au prezentat 5 culori diferite de țesături pentru parapantă (roșu, turcoaz, albastru închis, portocaliu și alb) care au fost expuse la lumina puternică a soarelui, timp de 150 de ore în timpul verii, de la ora 9:00 până la 3:00 p.m., timp de 5 zile pe săptămână, 5 săptămâni. Înainte și după procesul de îmbătrânire din cauza radiațiilor UV, s-au efectuat testele de permeabilitate la aer, rezistență la tracțiune, rezistență la sfâșiere și rezistență la plesnire. Rezultatele testelor au fost, de asemenea, evaluate folosind metode statistice. Conform rezultatelor, s-a constatat că țesătura turcoaz a avut cel mai ridicat grad de estompare dintre țesăturile studiate. S-a constatat că există o scădere semnificativă a proprietăților mecanice ale țesăturilor după expunerea la soare. După îmbătrânire, țesăturile devin considerabil mai puțin rezistente în ceea ce privește proprietățile mecanice din cauza degradării atât a colorantului, cât și a structurii macromoleculare a fibrei.
This study was designed to explore the relationship between sunlight exposure and the mechanical properties of
paragliding fabrics which have different colors, densities, yarn counts, and coating ...materials. This study exposed
5 different colors of paragliding fabrics (red, turquoise, dark blue, orange, and white) to intense sunlight for 150 hours
during the summer from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for 5 days a week for 5 weeks. Before and after the UV radiation aging
process, the air permeability, tensile strength, tear strength, and bursting strength tests were performed. Test results
were also evaluated using statistical methods. According to the results, the fading of the turquoise fabric was found to
be the highest among the studied fabrics. It was determined that there is a significant decrease in the mechanical
properties of the fabrics after sunlight exposure. After aging, the fabrics become considerably weaker in the case of
mechanical properties due to the degradation in both the dyestuff and macromolecular structure of the fiber

In the production of acrylic fibers using wet-spinning method, fiber formation takes places in the coagulation bath. Therefore, physical properties of the fibers, produced by the wet-spinning method, is affected by coagulation bath conditions. For this reason, coagulation bath parameters have to be checked very well. In this paper, both the physical events such as diffusion and phase transition, occured in the coagulation bath, and some coagulation bath parameters that affect these physical events are studied. Furthermore, it is tried to express their affects on the physical characteristics of the fibers.
