We analyze detailed atmospheric gas/aerosol composition data acquired during the 2008 NASA ARCTAS (Arctic Research of the Composition of the Troposphere from Aircraft and Satellites) airborne ...campaign performed at high northern latitudes in spring (ARCTAS-A) and summer (ARCTAS-B) and in California in summer (ARCTAS-CARB). Biomass burning influences were widespread throughout the ARCTAS campaign. MODIS data from 2000 to 2009 indicated that 2008 had the second largest fire counts over Siberia and a more normal Canadian boreal forest fire season. Near surface arctic air in spring contained strong anthropogenic signatures indicated by high sulfate. In both spring and summer most of the pollution plumes transported to the Arctic region were from Europe and Asia and were present in the mid to upper troposphere and contained a mix of forest fire and urban influences. The gas/aerosol composition of the high latitude troposphere was strongly perturbed at all altitudes in both spring and summer. The reactive nitrogen budget was balanced with PAN as the dominant component. Mean ozone concentrations in the high latitude troposphere were only minimally perturbed (<5
ppb), although many individual pollution plumes sampled in the mid to upper troposphere, and mixed with urban influences, contained elevated ozone (ΔO

v/v). Emission and optical characteristics of boreal and California wild fires were quantified and found to be broadly comparable. Greenhouse gas emission estimates derived from ARCTAS-CARB data for the South Coast Air Basin of California show good agreement with state inventories for CO
2 and N
2O but indicate substantially larger emissions of CH
4. Simulations by multiple models of transport and chemistry were found to be broadly consistent with observations with a tendency towards under prediction at high latitudes.
There is an urgent clinical need for safe and effective treatment agents and therapy targets for estrogen receptor negative (ER-) breast cancer. G protein-coupled receptor 30 (GPR30), which mediates ...non-genomic signaling of estrogen to regulate cell growth, is highly expressed in ER--breast cancer cells. We here showed that activation of GPR30 by the receptor-specific agonist G-1 inhibited the growth of ER--breast cancer cells in vitro. Treatment of ER--breast cancer cells with G-1 resulted in G2/M-phase arrest, downregulation of G2-checkpoint regulator cyclin B, and induction of mitochondrial-related apoptosis. The G-1 treatment increased expression of p53 and its phosphorylation levels at Serine 15, promoted its nuclear translocation, and inhibited its ubiquitylation, which mediated the growth arrest effects on cell proliferation. Further, the G-1 induced sustained activation and nuclear translocation of ERK1/2, which was mediated by GPR30/epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signals, also mediated its inhibition effects of G-1. With extensive use of siRNA-knockdown experiments and inhibitors, we found that upregulation of p21 by the cross-talk of GPR30/EGFR and p53 was also involved in G-1-induced cell growth arrest. In vivo experiments showed that G-1 treatment significantly suppressed the growth of SkBr3 xenograft tumors and increased the survival rate, associated with proliferation suppression and upregulation of p53, p21 while downregulation of cyclin B. The discovery of multiple signal pathways mediated the suppression effects of G-1 makes it a promising candidate drug and lays the foundation for future development of GPR30-based therapies for ER- breast cancer treatment.
With increasing wind energy integrated into power systems, the topic of economic dispatch (ED) becomes more important. In this paper, a risk constrained ED (RCED) model is proposed, which aims to ...obtain the optimal dispatch solution to balance the economic gain and the economic risk brought by uncertain wind power. Then Pareto-based multi-objective optimization approach is applied to optimize the gain and risk under the uncertain environment, simultaneously. Afterwards, an improved optimization algorithm, chaotic group search optimizer with multiple producers (CGSOMP) is used for solving this complex problem. Simulation studies are conducted on a modified IEEE 30-bus power system, and results verify outperformance of the RCED model, compared with the traditional ED approach.

Introduction
Prior studies show promising results of the gastric peroral endoscopic pyloromyotomy (G-POEM) procedure for treatment of refractory gastroparesis. One major technical challenge involved ...in this procedure is identifying the pyloric muscular ring (PMR). The aim of this study is to establish a reliable method for identification of the PMR during G-POEM.
Methods
Fluoroscopy-guided G-POEM was performed by placing an endoclip at the 9 to 11’o clock position at the pylorus for identification of PMR. Conventional G-POEM was performed by observation of blue colored mucosa at the pylorus area as an indirect marker for PMR. The degree of the PMR identification was graded into well identified, identified, and not identified based on the appearance of the PMR. Procedure times were accurately documented. Gastroparesis cardinal symptoms index and gastric emptying scintigraphy were evaluated before and after the procedure.
Results
Fourteen patients were studied, seven underwent fluoroscopy-guided G-POEM, and seven patients underwent conventional G-POEM. All procedures achieved technical success and no adverse events occurred. In the seven patients who underwent fluoroscopy-guided G-POEM, the PMR was well identified in four patients and identified in three patients. In the seven patients who underwent conventional G-POEM, the PMR was identified in four patients and not identified in three patients. The average time to complete the fluoroscopy-guided G-POEM was significantly shorter than that of the conventional G-POEM.
Conclusions
Fluoroscopy-guided G-POEM by placement of an endoclip at the pylorus was a reliable and safe method to direct the orientation of the submucosal tunnel, to facilitate the location of the PMR, and to shorten the procedure time.

Such plasmons commonly occur in metals, but many metals have high plasmonic loss in the optical range, a main issue in current plasmonic research. Here, we discover an anomalous form of tunable correlated plasmons in a Mott-like insulating oxide from the Sr
Nb
O
family. These correlated plasmons have multiple plasmon frequencies and low loss in the visible-ultraviolet range. Supported by theoretical calculations, these plasmons arise from the nanometre-spaced confinement of extra oxygen planes that enhances the unscreened Coulomb interactions among charges. The correlated plasmons are tunable: they diminish as extra oxygen plane density or film thickness decreases. Our results open a path for plasmonics research in previously untapped insulating and strongly-correlated materials.
Abstract The purpose of this study was to clarify the correlation between pre-treatment anterior disc displacement and mandibular stability after orthognathic and orthodontic treatment among patients ...with a skeletal class II malocclusion and without pre-treatment condylar resorption. Thirty-seven patients were included (7 male, 30 female). The mean length of follow-up was 6.76 ± 3.06 years. Patients with condylar resorption before treatment were excluded. Magnetic resonance images and lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken before treatment (T0), after treatment (T1), and at follow-up (T2). Patients were classified according to the degree of disc displacement: −10–10° ‘normal’, 11–50° ‘slight to mild’, ≥51° ‘moderate to severe’. Results showed the condyle moved posterosuperiorly after treatment, and then moved anteriorly to a more concentric location during the long follow-up period. Condylar movement was found not to correlate with disc displacement. The degree of disc displacement before treatment did not correlate with the post-surgical mandibular positional change in either the sagittal or vertical direction. To conclude, the mandibular bilateral sagittal split ramus osteotomy was stable in the long-term after orthognathic and orthodontic treatment. In the absence of pre-treatment condylar resorption, the degree of initial anterior disc displacement did not have a significant influence on the stability of mandibular advancement.
The Tibetan Plateau exerts a major influence on Asian climate, but its long-term environmental history remains largely unknown. We present a detailed record of vegetation and climate changes over the ...past 1.74 million years in a lake sediment core from the Zoige Basin, eastern Tibetan Plateau. Results show three intervals with different orbital- and millennial-scale features superimposed on a stepwise long-term cooling trend. The interval of 1.74-1.54 million years ago is characterized by an insolation-dominated mode with strong ~20,000-year cyclicity and quasi-absent millennial-scale signal. The interval of 1.54-0.62 million years ago represents a transitional insolation-ice mode marked by ~20,000- and ~40,000-year cycles, with superimposed millennial-scale oscillations. The past 620,000 years are characterized by an ice-driven mode with 100,000-year cyclicity and less frequent millennial-scale variability. A pronounced transition occurred 620,000 years ago, as glacial cycles intensified. These new findings reveal how the interaction of low-latitude insolation and high-latitude ice-volume forcing shaped the evolution of the Tibetan Plateau climate.
OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of photobiomodulation (PBM) on the drainage of brain interstitial fluid (ISF) and to investigate the possible mechanism of the positive effect of PBM on Alzheimer's ...disease (AD). METHODSTwenty-four SD male rats were randomly divided into PBM group (n=12), sham PBM group (n=6), and negative control group (n=6). According to the injection site of tracer, the PBM group was further divided into PBM-ipsilateral traced group (n=6) and PBM-contralateral traced group (n=6). Rats in the PBM group and the sham PBM group were exposed to the dura minimally invasively on the skull corresponding to the frontal cortical area reached by ISF drainage from caudate nucleus region.
