The relevance of the Casimir effect, discovered in 1948, has recently been pointed out in studies on materials such as graphene and high-temperature superconducting cuprates. In particular, the ...relationship between Casimir energy and the energy of a superconducting condensate with anisotropy characterized by high bidimensionality has already been discussed in certain theoretical scenarios. Using this proposal, this work describes the relationship between the effective mass of the charge carriers (m⁎=αme) and the macroscopic parameters characteristic of several families of high-Tc superconducting cuprates (Cu-HTSC) that have copper and oxygen superconducting planes (Cu-O). We have verified that an expression exists that correlates the effective mass, the London penetration length in the plane λab, the critical temperature Tc and the distance d between the equivalent superconducting planes of Cu-HTSC. This study revealed that the intersection between the asymptotic behavior of α as a function of Tc and the line describing the optimal value of α≃2 (m⁎≃2me) indicates that a nonadiabatic region exists, which implies a carrier-lattice interaction and where the critical temperature can have its highest value in Cu-HTSC.

double perovskite is a spin-orbit-assisted Mott insulator with exotic magnetic properties, including a largely non-collinear Mn
spin arrangement and nearly orthogonal coupling between ...such spins and the much smaller Re 5
magnetic moments. Here, the electron-doped compound Ca
Y
MnReO
(
= 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3) is reported and a detailed investigation is conducted for
= 0.3. Neutron and x-ray powder diffraction confirm that nearly full chemical order is maintained at the Mn and Re sites under the Y substitution at the Ca site. X-ray absorption measurements and an analysis of the Mn-O/Re-O bond distances show that the Mn oxidation state remains stable at +2 whereas Re is reduced upon doping. The electron doping increases the magnetic ordering temperature from
= 121 to 150 K and also enhances significantly the ferromagnetic component of the Mn spins at the expense of the antiferromagnetic component at the base temperature (
= 3 K). The lattice parameter anomalies at
observed in the parent compound are suppressed by the electron doping. The possible reasons for the enhanced magnetism and the suppressed magnetoelastic coupling in Ca
Y
MnReO
are discussed.
Solid-state reactions carried out in a sealed quartz tube showed that the yttrium solubility limit in the ordered double perovskite Sr2YxCrReO6 is x = 0.2. Using X-ray diffraction analysis and ...Rietveld refinement, it was possible to confirm the existence of a solid solution with a maximum yttrium (at.%) content of 10%. The compound obtained, Sr1.8Y0.2CrReO6, exhibited a microstructure with grain sizes similar to those of Sr2CrReO6. However, it was noticed that the volume of the unit cell had increased by 0.2%. The compound Sr1.8Y0.2CrReO6 also exhibited an increase in magnetization of 10% with respect to that of Sr2CrReO6 without there being a change in the critical temperature (∼640 K) and with the characteristics of a structured crystalline solid solution being maintained. This suggested that Sr1.8Y0.2CrReO6 can be used for the development and fabrication of spintronics devices.
•Y solubility limit in double perovskite Sr2−xYxCrReO6 is found to be x = 0.2.•Existence of a solid solution with maximum Y (at.%) content of 10% is confirmed.•Sr1.8Y0.2CrReO6, exhibits grain sizes similar to those of Sr2CrReO6.•However, the volume of the unit cell increases by 0.2%.•Sr1.8Y0.2CrReO6 has higher magnetization without change in critical temperature.

Este trabalho investigou a estrutura magnética da perovskita dupla Ca2MnReO6 a partir de difração de nêutrons por pó. Até o presente trabalho, não havia estudos conclusivos acerca de sua estrutura magnética. Com o objetivo de esclarecer essa estrutura, amostras policristalinas desse composto foram produzidas em quantidades suficientes para realizar estudos de difração de nêutrons. Aproximadamente 10 g do composto foram sintetizados em lotes a partir de reação de estado sólido em um tubo de quartzo selado a vácuo. Medidas de difração de raios X constataram cristalinidade e qualidade dos lotes. Magnetização dc em = 0,1 T mostra uma transição paramagnética em = 121 K, uma frustração magnética na curva de magnetização ZFC e uma magnetização significante s 0,5 /f.u em FC. O ajuste da Lei de Curie-Weiss na região paramagnético em −1 teve como resultado = 70 K, indicando uma predominância de interações ferromagnéticas na rede. Histerese magnética ZFC em = 10 K mostrou;
que o composto apresenta um comportamento magnético duro e um = 4 T, indicando um acoplamento magneto-cristalino. O refinamento Rietveld dos espectros de difração de nêutrons frios em função da temperatura revelou que entre 75 K-120 K há uma expansão anômala do eixo e uma grande contração do parâmetro com o resfriamento, que podem estar relacionadas ao acoplamento magneto cristalino. A evolução dos momentos totais em função da temperatura mostrou que os seus valores chegam a zero próximo a , e que acima de = 80 K há um aumento da componente ferromagnética do Mn. Refinamento Rietveld dos espectros de difração de nêutrons térmicos mostrou que não houve transição de fase estrutural do composto em função da temperatura. Como conclusão deste trabalho, foi determinado de forma inédita que e;
o grupo magnético 21/ descreve a rede magnética do composto Ca2MnReO6. Tal conclusão baseou-se em uma análise cristalográfica detalhada dos picos puramente magnéticos dos espectros de difração de nêutrons frios em = 2 K, utilizando o vetor de propagação ⃗ = (0,0,0).;
Além disso, verificou-se que as sub-redes magnéticas do Mn e Re apresentam um ordenamento AFM-A com vetores magnéticos 2,41(3),±0,8(3), 3,53(3) e −0,16(4), 0, 0,15(4), respectivamente.;
Constatou-se também que o vetor magnético do Re faz um ângulo de 100º em relação ao vetor magnético do Mn em mesmo , revelando uma relação de ortogonalidade entre eles.;
O acoplamento magnético ortogonal entre os momentos do Mn e Re indica a predominância de uma interações de troca (exchange) antissimétrica (Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya) em comparação a interações de troca simétricas (Heisenberg). Esse acoplamento caracteriza o composto como um isolante de Mott assistido por acoplamento spin-orbita (spin-orbit-assisted Mott insulator), similar ao observado em Iridatos.

Foi realizado um análise da valência do Mn e Re em cerâmicas do tipo Ca2MnReO6 e Ca1,9Y0,1MnReO6 a partir do Modelo de Valência de Ligação (Bond Valence Model). O modelo em questão, relaciona a distância das ligações cátion-ânion com a valência total do cátion. As distâncias de ligação utilizadas para análise da valência foram de resultados dos refinamentos estruturais dos compostos a partir de medidas de difração de raios-X, realizados através do método de Rietveld, estes resultados se encontram presentes na literatura. As valências encontradas neste trabalho para as cerâmicas Ca2MnReO6 e Ca1,9Y0,1MnReO6, diferem das encontradas a partir de medidas de Absorção de raios-X na Borda LIII do Re. Diferença está relacionada com os parâmetros utilizados no modelo de valência (do e B). Considerando o Re um átomo com alta densidade eletrônica e o composto em questão como um óxido complexo, uma alteração nos parâmetros do e B deve ser proposta para tornar válido o Modelo de Valência de Ligação para o elemento Re nos compostos cerâmicos Ca2MnReO6 e Ca1,9Y0,1MnReO6.
