Development of manufacture trend for TFTs technologies has focused on improving electrical properties of films with the cost reduction to achieve commercialization. To achieve this goal, ...high-performance sub-50 nm TFTs-based MOSFETs with ON-current (I
)/subthreshold swing (S.S.) of 181 µA/µm/107 mV/dec and 188 µA/µm/98 mV/dec for NMOSFETs and PMOSFETs in a monolithic 3D circuit were demonstrated by a low power with low thermal budget process. In addition, a stackable static random access memory (SRAM) integrated with TFTs-based MOSFET with static noise margins (SNM) equals to 390 mV at V
= 1.0 V was demonstrated. Overall processes include a low thermal budget via ultra-flat and ultra-thin poly-Si channels by solid state laser crystallization process, chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP) planarization, plasma-enhanced atomic layer deposition (ALD) gate stacking layers and infrared laser activation with a low thermal budget. Detailed material and electrical properties were investigated. The advanced 3D architecture with closely spaced inter-layer dielectrics (ILD) enables high-performance stackable MOSFETs and SRAM for power-saving IoT/mobile products at a low cost or flexible substrate.
Patients with primary aldosteronism (PA) have cardiac remodeling due to hemodynamic and non-hemodynamic causes. However, component analysis of cardiac remodeling and reversal in PA patients is ...lacking. We investigated components of cardiac remodeling and reversal after adrenalectomy in patients with aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA).
This study prospectively enrolled 304 APA patients who received adrenalectomy and 271 with essential hypertension (EH). Clinical, biochemical and echocardiographic data were collected in both groups and 1 year after surgery in the APA patients. The hemodynamic and non-hemodynamic components of left ventricular (LV) remodeling were represented by predicted left ventricular mass index (LVMI) (pLVMI) and inappropriately excessive LVMI (ieLVMI, defined as LVMI-pLVMI).
After propensity score matching, 213 APA and 213 EH patients were selected. APA patients had higher hemodynamic (pLVMI) and non-hemodynamic (ieLVMI) components of LV remodeling than EH patients. In multivariate analysis, baseline pLVMI was correlated with systolic blood pressure (SBP) and serum potassium, whereas ieLVMI was correlated with log plasma aldosterone concentration but not blood pressure. Post-operative echocardiography was available in 207 patents and showed significant decreases in both pLVMI and ieLVMI after adrenalectomy. In multivariate analysis, ΔpLVMI was correlated with SBP, ΔSBP, and pre-operative pLVMI, whereas ΔieLVMI was correlated with Δlog aldosterone-to-renin ratio (ARR) and pre-operative ieLVMI.
This study concluded that extensive cardiac remodeling in APA patients occurs through hemodynamic and non-hemodynamic causes. Adrenalectomy can improve both hemodynamic and non-hemodynamic components of LV remodeling. Regressions of pLVMI and ieLVMI were correlated with decreases in blood pressure and ARR, respectively.
ABSTRACT
Seismoelectric coupling in an electric isotropic and elastic anisotropic medium is developed using a primary–secondary formulation. The anisotropy is of vertical transverse isotropic type ...and concerns only the poroelastic parameters. Based on our finite difference time domain algorithm, we solve the seismoelectric response to an explosive source. The seismic wavefields are computed as the primary field. The electric field is then obtained as a secondary field by solving the Poisson equation for the electric potential. To test our numerical algorithm, we compared our seismoelectric numerical results with analytical results obtained from Pride's equation. The comparison shows that the numerical solution gives a good approximation to the analytical solution. We then simulate the seismoelectric wavefields in different models. Simulated results show that four types of seismic waves are generated in anisotropic poroelastic medium. These are the fast and slow longitudinal waves and two separable transverse waves. All of these seismic waves generate coseismic electric fields in a homogenous anisotropic poroelastic medium. The tortuosity has an effect on the propagation of the slow longitudinal wave. The snapshot of the slow longitudinal wave has an oval shape when the tortuosity is anisotropic, whereas it has a circular shape when the tortuosity is isotropic. In terms of the Thomsen parameters, the radiation anisotropy of the fast longitudinal wave is more sensitive to the value of ε, while the radiation anisotropy of the transverse wave is more sensitive to the value of δ.
Abstract β- Elemene, a natural plant drug extracted from Curcuma wenyujin, has been used as an antitumor drug for different tumors, including glioblastoma. However, the mechanism of its anti-tumor ...effect is largely unknown. Here we report that anti-proliferation of glioblastoma cells induced by β-elemene was dependent on p38 MAPK activation. Treatment of glioblastoma cell lines with β - elemene, led to phosphorylation of p38 MAPK, cell-cycle arrest in G0/G1 phase and inhibition of proliferation of these cells. Inhibition of p38 MAPK reversed β - elemene-mediated anti-proliferation effect. Furthermore, the growth of glioblastoma cell-transplanted tumors in nude mice was inhibited by intraperitoneal injection of β-elemene. Taken together, our findings indicate that activation of p38 MAPK is critical for the anti-proliferation effect of β-elemene and that p38 MAPK might be a putative pharmacological target for glioblastoma therapy.
The study investigated the viability of 3D-printed zirconia specimens created using solvent-based ceramic slurry stereolithography (3S), focusing on their utility in dental ultra-thin laminate ...veneers. Solvent debinding was employed to minimize defect risks, with the debinding process designed based on thermogravimetric analysis. The study evaluated how solvent debinding affected the microstructural and mechanical properties of the zirconia specimens. Optical properties of 0.1 mm and 0.3 mm thick ultra-thin veneers were characterized, focusing on color parameters and relative translucency (RTP00) values. Following solvent debinding, the green bodies exhibited noticeable surface pores, although this did not compromise density or dimensional accuracy. The sintered specimens treated with solvent debinding showed a slight increase in tetragonal phases, a significant reduction in surface roughness, and improvements in Vickers hardness and flexural strength. Cell viability tests confirmed more than 90% viability for NIH-3T3 cell lines, highlighting excellent biocompatibility. Veneers with a 0.1 mm thickness demonstrated RTP00 values between 16.57 and 19.38, and the shade of the dental substrate notably influenced their color. The study demonstrated that the solvent debinding process effectively reduced porosity, consequently improving the mechanical properties of specimens fabricated using the 3S technique. Ultra-thin zirconia veneers produced by this method exhibited high RTP00 values, indicating their potential suitability for anterior dental applications. Notably, the substrate shade emerged as a critical factor in achieving optimal aesthetic results.
Primary aldosteronism is the most common form of secondary hypertension and induces various cardiovascular injuries. In aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA), the impact of KCNJ5 somatic mutations on ...arterial stiffness excluding the influence of confounding factors is uncertain. We enrolled 213 APA patients who were scheduled to undergo adrenalectomy. KCNJ5 gene sequencing of APA was performed. After propensity score matching (PSM) for age, sex, body mass index, blood pressure, number of hypertensive medications, and hypertension duration, there were 66 patients in each group with and without KCNJ5 mutations. The mutation carriers had a higher aldosterone level and lower log transformed brachial–ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) than the non-carriers before PSM, but no difference in log baPWV after PSM. One year after adrenalectomy, the mutation carriers had greater decreases in log plasma aldosterone concentration, log aldosterone–renin activity ratio, and log baPWV than the non-carriers after PSM. Only the mutation carriers had a significant decrease in log baPWV after surgery both before and after PSM. KCNJ5 mutations were not correlated with baseline baPWV after PSM but were significantly correlated with ∆baPWV after surgery both before and after PSM. Conclusively, APA patients with KCNJ5 mutations had a greater regression in arterial stiffness after adrenalectomy than those without mutations.
Adult sporadic Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is a rare but highly aggressive subtype of lymphoma which lacks its own unique prognostic model. Systemic inflammatory biomarkers have been confirmed as ...prognostic markers in several types of malignancy. Our objective was to explore the predictive value of pretreatment inflammatory biomarkers and establish a novel, clinically applicable prognostic index for adult patients with sporadic BL.
We surveyed retrospectively 336 adult patients with newly diagnosed sporadic BL at 8 Chinese medical centers and divided into training cohort (n = 229) and validation cohort (n = 107). The pretreatment inflammatory biomarkers were calculated for optimal cut-off value. The association between serum biomarkers and overall survival (OS) was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier curves and Cox proportional models. The risk stratification was defined based on normal LDH level, Ann Arbor stage of I and completely resected abdominal lesion or single extra-abdominal mass < 10 cm.
Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that platelets< 254 × 10
/L, albumin< 40 g/L, lactate dehydrogenase≥334 U/L independently predicted unfavorable OS. We used these data as the basis for the prognostic index, in which patients were stratified into Group 1 (no or one risk factor), Group 2 (two risk factors), or Group 3 (three risk factors), which were associated with 5-year OS rates of 88.1, 72.4, and 45%, respectively. In the subgroup analysis for high-risk patients, our prognostic model results showed that high-risk patients with no more than one adverse factor presented a 5-year survival rate of 85.9%, but patients with three adverse factors had a 5-year survival rate of 43.0%. Harrell's concordance index (C-index) of the risk group score was 0.768. Therefore, the new prognostic model could be used to develop risk-adapted treatment approaches for adult sporadic BL.

X-linked lymphoproliferative disease type 1 (XLP1) is a rare primary immunodeficiency characterized by a clinical triad consisting of severe EBV-induced hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, B-cell ...lymphoma, and dysgammaglobulinemia. Mutations in SH2D1A gene have been revealed as the cause of XLP1. In this study, a pregnant woman with recurrence history of birthing immunodeficiency was screened for pathogenic variant because the proband sample was unavailable. We aimed to clarify the genetic diagnosis and provide prenatal testing for the family. Next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based multigene panel was used in carrier screening of the pregnant woman. Variants of immunodeficiency related genes were analyzed and prioritized. Candidate variant was verified by using Sanger sequencing. The possible influence of the identified variant was evaluated through RNA assay. Amniocentesis, karyotyping, and Sanger sequencing were performed for prenatal testing. We identified a novel de novo frameshift SH2D1A pathogenic variant (c.251_255delTTTCA) in the pregnant carrier. Peripheral blood RNA assay indicated that the mutant transcript could escape nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) and might encode a C-terminal truncated protein. Information of the variant led to success prenatal diagnosis of the fetus. In conclusion, our study clarified the genetic diagnosis and altered disease prevention for a pregnant carrier of XLP1.

Knowledge of early life histories of scleractinian corals is essential for ecological studies (e.g., larval dispersion and connectivity) and development of aquaculture techniques. The present study ...documents cellular and biochemical changes during early development of a scleractinian coral, Fimbriaphyllia ancora (Order Scleractinia, Family Euphyllidae). Observations of spawning revealed that F. ancora releases positively buoyant eggs. No fertilization membrane surrounded fertilized eggs, which developed into swimming planula larvae within 48 h after fertilization. Lipid content analysis showed that eggs are rich in wax esters, and that the wax ester concentration decreases significantly in planulae. Sugar content analysis revealed that the eggs are also rich in glycogen, and that the glycogen concentration increases as development progresses. Free glucose was not detected in samples that we analyzed. Moreover, a settlement assay showed that F. ancora planulae prefer to settle on dead coral debris, compared to other substrate materials, such as plastic, microscope slides, ceramics, and crustose coralline algae.
