Currently, many equipment manufacturing enterprises in China lack effective management integration. While research on total factor productivity measurement and influencing factors exists, there is a ...lack of systematic research from the perspectives of different stakeholders, both inside and outside the enterprise market and government. To address this gap, this study examines the differences in demands for integrated management among enterprises of different ownership and sizes. Using the theory of value cocreation and Internet of Things technology, 273 enterprises in 16 cities in Shandong Province were sampled. The study also compares the impact of market fiscal and tax incentives on enterprise resource allocation and innovation performance, as well as the differences between "tangible and intangible" means of the market and government. The Internet of Things technology is utilized to build integrated management systems and verify the mechanisms of market incentives and government policies. Results reveal that market incentive policies have a differential effect on enterprises of different ownership and sizes, and the total factor productivity of sample enterprises is significantly and positively correlated with the strength of market incentive policy. Moreover, there are noticeable differences in the impact of government subsidy policies on enterprises of different sizes. Small and medium-sized enterprises do not respond significantly to fluctuations in government subsidy policies, while large enterprises are more sensitive to such fluctuations.
Biopolymers produced in near-surface soils by living organisms, including microbial extracellular polymeric substances and plant mucilage, offer enhanced moisture retention and protection from dry ...environments, lubricate roots to allow penetration through soil, and link soil grains together physically to form soil aggregates. At the aggregate scale their effects and behaviour are known and significant, but their impact on geotechnical behaviour of shallow soil bodies at the mesoscale and beyond is largely unexplored, including their response to the moisture cycling typical in vadose zone soils. In this work we explore the effects of moisture conditions, including multiple dry–wet cycles, on the shear behaviour of sand amended with xanthan gum as a model biopolymer. Drying causes a significant improvement on shear strength, even at low concentrations of biopolymer, but this is largely lost upon wetting. The extent of shear strength improvement is dependent on the moisture path taken (i.e., the wetting–drying history) and deteriorates over a number of moisture cycles. We present a conceptual model that poses redistribution of the biopolymer around the sand grains as the cause of the observed behaviour and demonstrate that biopolymers can provide a significant although transient enhancement of shear strength of sand in near-surface conditions.

This paper presents a comprehensive review of retinal blood vessel segmentation based on deep learning. The geometric characteristics of retinal vessels reflect the health status of patients and help ...to diagnose some diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. The accurate diagnosis and timing treatment of these diseases can prevent global blindness of patients. Recently, deep learning algorithms have been rapidly applied to retinal vessel segmentation due to their higher efficiency and accuracy, when compared with manual segmentation and other computer-aided diagnosis techniques. In this work, we reviewed recent publications for retinal vessel segmentation based on deep learning. We surveyed these proposed methods especially the network architectures and figured out the trend of models. We summarized obstacles and key aspects for applying deep learning to retinal vessel segmentation and indicated future research directions. This article will help researchers to construct more advanced and robust models.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the use of three-dimensional (3D) printing models for preoperative planning in cases of complex fracture.
In total, 48 patients with AO type C ...fractures of the distal radius were enrolled in the study between January 2014 and January 2015. They were divided randomly into 3D model (n = 23) and routine treatment (n = 25) groups. A 3D digital model of each distal radius fracture in the former group was constructed. The model was exported to a 3D printer for construction of a full solid model. During each operation, the operative time, amount of blood loss, and frequency of intraoperative fluoroscopy were recorded, which were regarded as primary outcome measures. Patients were followed to evaluate surgical outcomes by Gartland-Werley scores, radiological evaluation, and range of motion of wrist, and these were regarded as the secondary outcome measures. In addition, we invited surgeons and patients to complete questionnaires.
The treatment of complex fractures using the 3D printing approach reduced the frequency of intraoperative fluoroscopy, blood loss volume, and operative time, but did not improve postoperative function compared with routine treatment. The patients wanted the doctor to use the 3D model to describe the condition and introduce the operative plan because it facilitated their understanding. The orthopaedic surgeons thought that the 3D model was useful for communication with patients, but were much less satisfied with its use in preoperative planning.
Our study revealed that 3D printing models effectively help the doctors plan and perform the operation and provide more effective communication between doctors and patients, but can not improve postoperative function compared with routine treatment.

Particle surface morphology is an important factor influencing sand structure and mechanical properties. In this study, the effect of sand particle sphericity on sand direct shear performance is ...investigated by using the discrete element method (DEM). Two ways are adapted to simulate different approaching methods from round particles to irregular sand. The macroresponse shows that irregular sand has a higher shear strength at lower normal stress than round particles. The shape of the particle has less influence on shear strength at higher normal stress. The irregular shape of sand leads to an increase in the shear band proportion. However, the shear band proportion is not related to the sphericity. Under all conditions, particles within the shear band have a larger average rotation angle than those outside the shear band. When the particle shape approaches round (regardless of the round particle proportion and particle shape), the average rotation angle of particles within and without shear bands increase, while the coordinate number and contact anisotropy decrease.

SW480 cells with stably expressing enhanced green fluorescence protein were xenografted to BALB/c-nu mice to observe the growth of tumors. Liver metastasis was observed by injection of MC38 cells beneath the splenic capsule of mice. Protein expression was determined by immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and western blot.
Consolidated in vitro results indicate that resibufogenin has anti-proliferative activity on CRC cells. PI staining and transmission electron microscope imaging suggest that the cell death induced by resibufogenin are mainly through necrosis, which is further confirmed by the ineffectiveness of z-VAD, a pan-caspase general inhibitor. In particular, resibufogenin induced necrosis is substantially abrogated in receptor-interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3) knockout mouse embryo fibroblasts. The RIP3-dependent necrosis has been classified as necroptosis. Resibufogenin triggeres necroptosis through upregulating RIP3 and phosphorylating mixed lineage kinase domain-like protein at Ser358. Resibufogenin also activates the expression of PYGL, GLUD1 and GLUL in a RIP3-dependent manner. Resibufogenin exerts cytotoxic effect by inducing reactive oxygen species accumulation which can be neutralized by N-acetylcysteine. Remarkably, resibufogenin significantly suppresses liver-metastasis from spleen implantation. The anti-neoplastic effect of this compound can be abrogated by RIP3 knockdown.

There is a growing consensus that impulsivity is a multifaceted construct that comprises several components such as impulsive choice and impulsive action. Although impulsive choice and impulsive ...action have been shown to be the common characteristics of some impulsivity-related psychiatric disorders, surprisingly few studies have directly compared their neural correlates and addressed the question whether they involve common or distinct neural correlates. We addressed this important empirical gap using an individual differences approach that could characterize the functional relevance of neural networks in behaviors. A large sample (n=227) of college students was tested with the delay discounting and stop-signal tasks, and their performances were correlated with the neuroanatomical (gray matter volume, GMV) and functional (resting-state functional connectivity, RSFC) measures, using multivariate pattern analysis (MVPA) and 10-fold cross-validation. Behavioral results showed no significant correlation between impulsive choice measured by discounting rate (k) and impulsive action measured by stop signal reaction time (SSRT). The GMVs in the right frontal pole (FP) and left middle frontal gyrus (MFG) were predictive of k, but not SSRT. In contrast, the GMVs in the right inferior frontal gyrus (IFG), supplementary motor area (SMA), and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) could predict individuals' SSRT, but not k. RSFC analysis using the FP and right IFG as seed regions revealed two distinct networks that correspond well to the “waiting” and “stopping” systems, respectively. Furthermore, the RSFC between the FP and ventromedial prefrontal cortex (VMPFC) was predictive of k, whereas the RSFC between the IFG and pre-SMA was predictive of SSRT. These results demonstrate clearly neural dissociations between impulsive choice and impulsive action, provide new insights into the nature of impulsivity, and have implications for impulsivity-related disorders.
•Neural substrates underlying impulsive choice and impulsive action were compared.•Large sample and MVPA were used on GMV and resting state functional connectivity.•The GMV in rFP and rFP–VMPFC connectivity predicted individuals' impulsive choice.•The GMV in rIFG and rIFG–SMA connectivity predicted individuals' impulsive action.•These results provide new insights into the multifaceted construct of impulsivity.
Recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified multiple risk loci that show strong associations with schizophrenia. However, pinpointing the potential causal genes at the reported loci ...remains a major challenge. Here we identify candidate causal genes for schizophrenia using an integrative genomic approach. Sherlock integrative analysis shows that ALMS1, GLT8D1, and CSNK2B are schizophrenia risk genes, which are validated using independent brain expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) data and integrative analysis method (SMR). Consistently, gene expression analysis in schizophrenia cases and controls further supports the potential role of these three genes in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. Finally, we show that GLT8D1 and CSNK2B knockdown promote the proliferation and inhibit the differentiation abilities of neural stem cells, and alter morphology and synaptic transmission of neurons. These convergent lines of evidence suggest that the ALMS1, CSNK2B, and GLT8D1 genes may be involved in pathophysiology of schizophrenia.
Implant choice for the fixation of femoral neck fracture is one of the most important management controversies. This study aims to evaluate and compare the short-term outcomes associated with the use ...of the Femoral Neck System (FNS), Multiple Cancellous Screws (MCS), and Dynamic Hip Screws (DHS) in treating femoral neck fractures in a young patient population.
From June 2018 to June 2021, a total of 120 surgeries for a primary femoral neck fracture were retrospectively analyzed. This review encompassed demographic details of the patients and the mechanisms behind the injuries. Key surgical parameters such as operation duration, intraoperative blood loss, fluoroscopy duration, and hospital stay were meticulously documented. The employed surgical technique was described. All patients were followed up at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months postoperatively. Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (AVN), nonunion, malreduction, implant failure or other complications were noted. The functional status at the last follow-up was assessed using the Harris functional scoring criteria.
There were 90 males and 30 females, with a mean age of 40.4 years. As to patient characteristics, there were no significant differences between the three groups. DHS group showed longer operation time(52.15 ± 4.80 min), more blood loss(59.05 ± 5.87 ml) and longer time of hospitalization(7.6 ± 0.90 d) than FNS group (39.65 ± 2.84 min, 45.33 ± 9.63 ml and 4.87 ± 0.48 d) and MCS group (39.45 ± 3.10 min, 48.15 ± 7.88 ml and 5.04 ± 0.49 d) (p < 0.05). In addition, the time of fluoroscopy in FNS group (15.45 ± 3.67) was less than that in MCS group (26.3 ± 4.76) and DHS group (27.1 ± 5.67) (p < 0.05). The cost of FNS group(44.51 ± 2.99 thousand RMB) was significantly higher than the MCS and DHS groups. The FNS, MCS and DHS groups showed a similar mean length of femoral neck shortening (LFNS) and Harris score. The FNS, MCS and DHS groups showed a similar mean rate of AVN and internal fixation failure.
Following successful fracture reduction, FNS, MCS, and DHS are effective for in the young femoral neck fractures. No difference was found in complications between the three groups. However, the reduced fluoroscopy time associated with FNS contributes to shorter operation durations. The adoption of minimally invasive techniques correlates with decreased blood loss and shorter hospital stays. Nevertheless, these advantages may be offset by the potential economic burden they impose.

Previous studies showed sanguinarine induced apoptosis in CRC cells but did not define the underlying mechanisms. The purpose of this work was to determine the in vivo and in vitro effects of ...sanguinarine on CRC tumors and to elucidate the mechanism in regulating the intrinsic apoptosis.
Cell viability of CRC cell lines treated with sanguinarine was measured by MTT assay. Apoptotic cells stained with Annexin V and 7-AAD were detected by flow cytometry. Mitochondrial membrane potential and reactive oxygen species (ROS) were analyzed by JC-1 and DCFH-DA staining, respectively. The in vitro kinase activity of MELK was analyzed by using HTRF
KinEASE™-STK kit. The expression of proteins were determined using Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. Co-immunoprecipitation and immunofluorecence were used to study the interaction between STRAP and MELK. The anti-neoplastic effect of sanguinarine was observed in vivo in an orthotopic CRC model.
Sanguinarine decreased the tumor size in a dose-dependent manner in orthotopical colorectal carcinomas through intrinsic apoptosis pathway in BALB/c-nu mice. It significantly increased cleavage of caspase 3 and PARP in implanted colorectal tissues. Sanguinarine increased mitochondrial ROS and triggered mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization in multiple colorectal cancer (CRC) cell lines. NAC pretreatment lowered ROS level and downregulated apoptosis induced by sanguinarine. The intrinsic apoptosis induced by sanguinarine was Bax-dependent. The elevated expression and association between serine-threonine kinase receptor-associated protein (STRAP) and maternal embryonic leucine zipper kinase (MELK) were observed in Bax positive cells but not in Bax negative cells. Sanguinarine dephosphorylated STRAP and MELK and disrupted the association between them in HCT116 and SW480 cells. The expression and association between STRAP and MELK were also attenuated by sanguinarine in the tumor tissues. Importantly, we found that STRAP and MELK were overexpressed and highly phosphorylated in colorectal adenocarcinomas and their expression were significantly correlated with tumor stages. Furthermore, the expression of MELK, but not STRAP, was associated with lymph node metastasis.
Sanguinarine dephosphorelates STRAP and MELK and disassociates the interaction between them to trigger intrinsic apoptosis. Overexpression of STRAP and MELK may be markers of CRC and their disassociation may be a determinant of therapeutic efficacy.
