The art and science of dentistry is steeped in tradition and customs that sometimes thwart changes to commonly held beliefs, even in the face of new interpretations of ethical and legal issues, as ...well as in relation to emerging scientific information. Unfortunately, unwillingness to change established practices can put the practitioner in legal jeopardy and may even place the patient at risk of experiencing an adverse event during a dental procedure. Here, Gary and Glick detail some issues of medical clearance.
