This article tried to find out the hidden meaning in the song Kun Fa Yakoon, written by Mohammad bin Dhahi, one of the most popular songs in the Muslim world during the pandemic Covid-19, not only ...due to the imitation of one of the current most popular Western songs, Memories by Maroon, but the acapella is also interesting due to the overwhelming symbols within the lyrics. Thus, new meanings need to produce to comprehend the song and its cultural context. This article aimed to deepen the comprehension of the song's message to result in an increased appreciation for art and a better understanding of the circumstances during the difficult times of the pandemic. The type of research conducted is qualitative research. In analysis, researchers used Riffaterre's Semiotics theory by identifying the Semiotic elements of the song, such as the use of metaphors and repetitions, then conducting heuristic reading and interpretation, and producing meaning through hermeneutic reading. The research findings indicate the discovery of meaning shifts in the form of metaphors and the creation of meaning through repetitions. In the heuristic analysis, ungrammatical elements like "من" (who) interrogative in conjunction with "إلاّ" (except) yield a new meaning that signifies a firm statement: "I bear witness." The global situation currently being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic also generates the meaning of earnestness in prayer and the high demand placed upon it. This represents the songwriter's response to the anxiety prevailing in society and signifies an increase in faith.
This study was a multidisciplinary study to interpret symbols behind the words in the Sufism poems of Syaraf al-Din Umar Ibn al-Farid in his diwan, Nazm as-Suluk or at-Ta’iyyah al-Kubra and ...al-Khamriyyah. Ibn al-Farid resembled his love for his God in beautiful, imaginative, and meaningful poetry. This research used the semiotic literary reading method (al-qirâʻah al-simi'iyyah) to unveil the meaning of Ibn al-Fārid's Sufistic poetry which is not only about the genre of Sufism un sich, but also the language and literary styles and levels of imagination through heuristic and hermeneutic interpretations. The beauty of his words with its solid essence is very important to be studied, analyzed and conveyed to the public so that the universe of knowledge is exposed not only about the flow of Sufism un sich, but also language and literary styles and levels of imagination through heuristic and hermeneutic interpretations along with the search for matrices, models and variants in the framework of finding the theme, and the final steps is looking for common ground between the texts and the existing ones through the hypogram.
There frequently un-correspondences of word level, word unit, structure, and intra system in translation activities between those of the source language and those of the target language. This ...so-called shift of translation may also occur on the level of meaning, be it to the more specific meaning, to the more general meaning, or simply as the result of different nature between two languages. This phenomenon was also found by the researchers in the novel entitled “Para MujahidCinta” whichis the translated version from the Arabic of one of the most Egyptians best novelist Najīb Kīlānī, entitled Layālī Turkistān. The results of the research show that the translator, Shocheh Muhammad, employed such shift in his translation particularly in regards with the tarkīb iḍāfī, composite words with a solid meaning, to become reduced-adjective clause, reduced-adverb clause, or etcetera. Such changes in translation affirm that shifts may occur, not only by the need to deliver the meaning or message, but also –in a wider context- by the fact of different characteristics of languages. This is, to some extent, nothing to do with correspondence between two languages which is the basis of translation theories.
Zohair bin Abi Sulma was one of the most prominent ancient Arabic poets who received his competency by both nature and culture. By nature, he lived amongst poets’ family: his father and his two ...sisters were poets, and so was his father’s uncle, Busyâmah from whom he learned poetry making by culture. He casted his Odes, which is to be studied here, to two persons, Harum bin Sinân and Hârits bin Auf who had efforts to make reconciliation between tribes of ʻAbas and Dzubyân, by bearing the whole fines imposed for victims from both sides. This writing tries to grasp meanings contained within the Ode by inquiry upon the common lessons and opinions traced therein. In analysis, the writer employs the theory of Ricouer in Hermeneutics. Two steps of interpretation to conduct are: initial interpretation to the extents that the text may cover and further interpretation in regard with the contexts.
