Five years ago, the left internal thoracic artery free segment was used as a coronary-coronary bypass over a single, distal lesion of the large left anterior descending coronary artery in a patient ...with triple vessel disease. The patient has recently been readmitted, complaining of chest discomfort. Although he was scheduled for percutaneous coronary intervention due to disease progression on the circumflex coronary artery, the perfect angiographic patency of the arterial coronary-coronary conduit has been confirmed.
Differentiation of the oxidase positive staphylococci,
Staphylococcus sciuri,
Staphylococcus lentus,
Staphylococcus vitulinus and
Staphylococcus fleurettii, based on tributyrin, urease, caseinase, ...gelatinase and DNase activity is described. These tests may be used for preliminary identification of oxidase positive isolates of staphylococci resulting in more accurate identification of these species.
Abstract
Titanium dioxide is a photocatalyst, known not only for its ability to oxidize organic contaminants, but also for its antimicrobial properties. In this article, significant enhancement of ...the antimicrobial activity of TiO
2
(up to 32 times) was demonstrated after its activation by ball milling. The antimicrobial activity was analyzed for one fungal and 13 bacterial ATCC strains using the microdilution method and recording the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values. In order to further investigate the correlation between the mechanical activation of TiO
2
and its antimicrobial activity, the structure, morphology and phase composition of the material were studied by means of Electron Microscopy, X‐ray diffraction and nitrogen adsorption‐desorption measurements. UV‐Vis diffuse reflectance spectra were recorded and the Kubelka‐Munk function was applied to convert reflectance into the equivalent band gap energy (
E
g
) and, consequently, to investigate changes in the
E
g
value. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy was used to analyze the influence of mechanical activation on the Ti 2p and O 1s spectra. The presented results are expected to enable the development of more sustainable and effective advanced TiO
2
‐based materials with antimicrobial properties that could be used in numerous green technology applications.

The results on multiplicity and transverse momentum fluctuations significantly deviate from expectations for the independent particle production. They also depend on charges of selected hadrons. do not describe the data. The scaled variance of multiplicity fluctuations is significantly higher in inelastic p+p interactions than in central Pb+Pb collisions measured by NA49 at the same energy per nucleon. This is in qualitative disagreement with the predictions of the Wounded Nucleon Model. Within the statistical framework the enhanced multiplicity fluctuations in inelastic p+p interactions can be interpreted as due to event-by-event fluctuations of the fireball energy and/or volume.

This paper presents measurements of production cross sections and inelastic cross sections for the following reactions: 60 GeV/c protons with C, Be, Al targets and 120 GeV/c protons with C and Be ...targets. The analysis is performed using the NA61/SHINE spectrometer at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. First measurements are obtained using protons at 120 GeV/c, while the results for protons at 60 GeV/c are compared with previously published measurements. These interaction cross section measurements are critical inputs for neutrino flux prediction in current and future accelerator-based long-baseline neutrino experiments.

In this study, we report the influence of vanadium oxide (VO), as a photosensitive component, on the photoactivity of TiOsub.2 nanotubes (TNTs). A series of TNTs of varying tube diameter were ...synthesized by the anodization of titanium foils at different voltages, while vanadium oxide was deposited on TNTs by wet chemical deposition. An improvement in the optical properties of nanotubes was observed after the deposition of vanadium oxide. An improvement in the optical properties (redshift in UV-Vis spectra) of TNTs and TNT/VO was noted. The photocatalytic activity was improved with increasing tube diameter, while it was weakened after the deposition of VO. Furthermore, photoactivity was investigated in photodiodes based on TNTs or TNT/VO and single crystals of CHsub.3NHsub.3PbIsub.3. The photoelectric measurement revealed that different TNT diameters did not influence the I-V characteristic of the photodiodes, while the deposition of VO improved the photocurrent for smaller TNTs.
