The methodologies of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Models (SEM) were used to analyze the results. The findings of the research show that self-congruity influences the perceived social value; the perceived social value leads to satisfaction and the creation of interpersonal connections in virtual social networks; and the interpersonal connections in virtual social networks influence the use of these tools by Generation Y travelers.

To date, mother‐to‐fetus transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), responsible for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19) pandemic, remains controversial. ...Although placental COVID‐19 infection has been documented in some cases during the second‐ and third‐trimesters, no reports are available for the first trimester of pregnancy, and no SARS‐CoV‐2 protein has been found in fetal tissues. We studied the placenta and fetal organs from an early pregnancy miscarriage in a COVID‐19 maternal infection by immunohistochemical, reverse transcription quantitative real‐time polymerase chain reaction, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy methods. SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid protein, viral RNA, and particles consistent with coronavirus were found in the placenta and fetal tissues, accompanied by RNA replication revealed by double‐stranded RNA (dsRNA) positive immunostain. Prominent damage of the placenta and fetal organs were associated with a hyperinflammatory process identified by histological examination and immunohistochemistry. The findings provided in this study document that congenital SARS‐CoV‐2 infection is possible during the first trimester of pregnancy and that fetal organs, such as lung and kidney, are targets for coronavirus. The infection and multi‐organic fetal inflammation produced by SARS‐CoV‐2 during early pregnancy should alert clinicians in the assessment and management of pregnant women for possible fetal consequences and adverse perinatal outcomes.
This study presents a literature review and an empirical research to analyze the connection between self-congruity, perceived social value, and use of social media by Generation Y tourists. To ...contrast the hypotheses of the study, a quantitative research was carried out among young Spanish travelers. As a result, 444 valid surveys were collected during February of 2016. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to estimate the connection between the constructs. The results show that self-congruity leads to perceived social value and the use of virtual social networks. In addition, perceived social value leads to satisfaction, and satisfaction leads to revisit intention and positive WOM. Finally, positive WOM intention influences the intensity of the use of virtual social networks by Generation Y travelers. As a part of the conclusions, the article presents the managerial implications of these relationships.
Research on dark narratives has focused on various contexts and products. Different perspectives, theories and methods have been applied during the last twenty-five years. The multi-disciplinary ...nature of the studies and the different approaches lead to a need for research to clarify the definition, classify the types of dark narratives, recognize consumers’ motivations, and identify antecedents and consequent behavior. We conducted a systematic review of 128 published works on dark narratives. Based on the review, this paper presents a structured overview of research in different fields, the contexts where the consumption of dark narratives has been examined, and the theories and methods used. Based on this review, we provide a revised definition, a structured classification of dark narratives and a synthesis of prior findings. Finally, we present a future research agenda.
The increase in the luxury hospitality industry has led to a significant body of new research. Due to some constraints –discussed in detail in this paper–, there is a lack of consensus on the ...definition and the factors associated with luxury hospitality. This leads to further gaps. To shed some light, this paper presents a systematic review of the literature of 681 articles. Co-occurrence analysis indicates three main topics of research, associated with (1) consumer experience (mainly focused on satisfaction, service quality, and loyalty), (2) sustainability, and (3) recent research on the effects of Covid-19. Regarding the definition, the results show that it varies depending on the perspective taken (e.g., company vs. consumer). Additionally, the theories most frequently used are related to conspicuous consumption and social value. However, recent findings suggest that the hedonic value might be key in some contexts (e.g., seeking escapism), while for some segments (e.g., ultra-high-net-individuals) the functional value might be more important. Finally, the review reveals that new methods need to be applied, such as experimental designs, and research on individual differences (e.g., culture) is still limited. Based on the results, future research recommendations are presented.
Objective: To evaluate the short term effect over menopausal symptoms and quality of life (QoL) of monthly parenteral formulations of 17β-estradiol (E)/progesterone (P) non-polymeric microspheres.
...Methods: This is a secondary analysis of a multicenter, randomized, single-blinded study that included peri- and post-menopausal symptomatic women assigned to receive a monthly intramuscular injection of 0.5 mg E + 15 mg P (Group A, n = 34), 1 mg E + 20 mg P (Group B, n = 24), or 1 mg E + 30 mg P (Group C, n = 26) for 6 months. Intensity of menopausal symptoms was assessed before and after treatment with the Greene Climacteric Scale (GCS) and QoL with the Utian Quality of Life Scale (UQoLS).
Results: Menopausal symptoms improved for all groups at six months evidenced by lower cluster/sub-cluster GCS scores. Equally, there was an overall trend for QoL improvement for all groups evidenced by higher domain UQoLS scores at six months; but only significant for the emotional (Groups A and B) and occupational domains (Groups A and C).
Conclusion: The three low-dose continuous sequential intramuscular monthly formulations of E/P microspheres exerted a positive effect over menopausal symptoms and QoL. Long-term research is warranted with these formulations.

Information on stroke among severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccines remains scarce. We report stroke incidence as an adverse event following immunization (AEFI) among ...recipients of 79,399,446 doses of 6 different SARS-CoV-2 vaccines (BNT162b2, ChAdOx1 nCov-19, Gam-COVID-Vac, CoronaVac, Ad5-nCoV, and Ad26.COV2-S) between December 24, 2020, and August 31, 2021, in Mexico.
This retrospective descriptive study analyzed stroke incidence per million doses among hospitalized adult patients (≥18 years) during an 8-month interval. According to the World Health Organization, AEFIs were defined as clinical events occurring within 30 days after immunization and categorized as either nonserious or serious, depending on severity, treatment, and hospital admission requirements. Acute ischemic stroke (AIS), intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) cases were collected through a passive epidemiologic surveillance system in which local health providers report potential AEFI to the Mexican General Board of Epidemiology. Data were captured with standardized case report formats by an ad hoc committee appointed by the Mexican Ministry of Health to evaluate potential neurologic AEFI against SARS-COV-2.
We included 56 patients (31 female patients 55.5%) for an overall incidence of 0.71 cases per 1,000,000 administered doses (95% CI 0.54-0.92). Median age was 65 years (interquartile range IQR 55-76 years); median time from vaccination to stroke (of any subtype) was 2 days (IQR 1-5 days). In 27 (48.2%) patients, the event was diagnosed within the first 24 hours after immunization. The most frequent subtype was AIS in 43 patients (75%; 0.54 per 1,000,000 doses, 95% CI 0.40-0.73), followed by ICH in 9 (16.1%; 0.11 per 1,000,000 doses, 95% CI 0.06-0.22) and SAH and CVT, each with 2 cases (3.6%; 0.03 per 1,000,000 doses, 95% CI 0.01-0.09). Overall, the most common risk factors were hypertension in 33 (58.9%) patients and diabetes in 22 (39.3%). Median hospital length of stay was 6 days (IQR 4-13 days). At discharge, functional outcome was good (modified Rankin Scale score 0-2) in 41.1% of patients; in-hospital mortality rate was 21.4%.
Stroke is an exceedingly rare AEFI against SARS-CoV-2. Preexisting stroke risk factors were identified in most patients. Further research is needed to evaluate causal associations between SARS-COV-2 vaccines and stroke.
Objective: To analyze the short-term efficacy and safety over menopausal symptoms of three low-dose continuous sequential 17β-estradiol (E)/progesterone (P) parental monthly formulations using novel ...non-polymeric microspheres.
Methods: This was a multicenter, randomized, single blinded study in which peri- and postmenopausal women were assigned to receive a monthly intramuscular injection of 0.5 mg E + 15 mg P (Group A, n = 34), 1 mg E + 20 mg P (Group B, n = 24) or 1 mg E + 30 mg P (Group C, n = 26) for 6 months. Primary efficacy endpoints included mean change in the frequency and severity of hot flushes and the effect over urogenital atrophy symptoms at 3 and 6 months. Safety variables included changes in the rate of amenorrhea, endometrial thickness and histopathology, and local and systemic adverse events.
Results: Compared to baseline at month 6, the three treatment schemes significantly decreased the rate of urogenital atrophy symptoms and the frequency (mean number per day) and severity (mean number graded as moderate and severe per month) of hot flushes. No differences in studied efficacy parameters were observed between studied groups at baseline or at the end of the study. For all groups the most frequent adverse event was pain at the injection site; however they were all rated as mild. At the end of the study peri- and postmenopausal women displayed no significant changes in endometrial thickness or histopathology in all treated groups. The rate of amenorrhea at the end of the study decreased for all studied groups yet was less evident among postmenopausal women as compared to perimenopausal ones.
Conclusions: The three low-dose continuous sequential intramuscular monthly treatments of E/P using novel microsphere technology were effective at reducing menopausal symptoms at short-term with a low rate of adverse events. More long-term and comparative research is warranted to support our positive findings.
