Suicide and suicidal behavior are one of the key issues for public policy and health care. Well-known American psychiatrist Somya Abubucker states that according to the WHO, a death by suicide occurs ...every 40 seconds in the world and “there are indications that for every adult person who died by suicide, there could be more than twenty others who attempted to commit it”. Restaurants remain a highly stressful environment, with the chef profession ranking among the top 10 most nerve-racking jobs in the world. The aim of the article is to present the life story and professional activity of the world’s most famous chefs and restaurateurs who committed suicide over the past 30 years, as well as the analysis of the probable reasons for their actions. To achieve the declared goal, the following research methods were used: historical, descriptive, comparative, systematization and generalization. The chefs in question used to work in the best restaurants in the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Switzerland, Great Britain and Australia. They made a significant contribution to the development of world gastronomy, their establishments have been transformed into truly cult locations, awarded stars from «Michelin» and evaluations from «Gault & Millau», which have been operating for several decades and offering the most exquisite dishes. It was established that the reasons for their suicides were mostly depression, emotional exhaustion and burnout, economic crisis, a drop in profits and lower ratings, loss of a loved one / close person, influence of reality shows, constant pressure, irregular work schedule, unjustified accusations. It was found that among the methods of suicide, it is, in particular, hanging, use of firearms, drowning and suffocation, medicine and drug overdose. The motives of the actions of some of them remained a mystery, since not even suicide notes were found. Priorities for suicide prevention include increasing specialized mental health programs, restricting access to weapons, and strengthening surveillance to detect signals / reports / information that a person is exhibiting suicidal intent. The obtained results make it possible to supplement and expand specialized training courses in higher education institutions of Ukraine, where personnel are trained for the field of tourism, hotel and restaurant industry, as well as medicine (in particular, psychology, psychiatry, addictionology and rehabilitation).
The article analyses the peculiarities of teaching French as a foreign language for students of physical and occupational therapy faculties in higher educational institutions in Ukraine. One of the ...most important aspects in the training of such specialists is the knowledge of foreign languages. It gives opportunities to communicate freely with foreign colleagues, to do internships abroad, to read professional scientific literature, to participate in international conferences. The study of French as a foreign language during bachelor and master programs should be holistic, comprehensive and dynamic, with clear requirements, based on the useof modern educational literature and Internet resources. Language practice is one of the most important components in the training of a qualified specialist. French as a Foreign Language program for physical therapists and occupational therapists should be logically structured, balanced, aimed at preparing for Professional French Diploma in Health Care, and contain a set of interdisciplinary knowledge on health care system in France.
The research is dedicated to professional preparation of physical education students to health-related activity. The purpose of the research is to work out formation and content of author's model of ...the professional training of future physical education and sport specialists to health-related activity. The objectives of the research are to study structure of professional preparation model and to define the levels of readiness to health-related activity. The studies have been executed according to Lviv State University of Physical Culture named after Ivan Boberskij research plan (State registration number 0117U 003040). The latest studies have shown that the parameters of physical development of children with hearing loss are attracting the attention of the scientific community. However, there are few studies that ...investigate changes in the physical condition of deaf children after improving physical education. The purpose of this work is to study the physical condition of deaf primary school-age children and develop a corrective program using methods of physical education. The study included 72 deaf children (to the experimental nEG=37 and the control group nCG=35) and 28 primary school-age children with normal hearing. The choice of research sample was random and the age of the children ranged from 6-10 years old. The physical condition of the schoolchildren was determined using a set of medical and biological methods: blood pressure measurement, heart rate calculation according to the electrocardiogram R-R interval, spirometry, electrocardiography, echocardiography, physical work capacity (PWC150) test, measurement of catecholamines using E. Matlina’s method, and anthropometry. The experimental physical education program consisted of a set of physical, breathing and posture exercises as well as physical games. Games were divided by complexity, level of perception, physical intensity, and impact on the body. It was determined that deafness negatively affects anthropometric indicators, the respiratory system, and the functional condition of the sympathoadrenal system, but does not affect the morpho-functional values of cardiac performance in primary school-age children. The study proves the effectiveness of adopting exercise programs based on physical games as a means of correcting the physical condition of deaf children. The study confirmed that the implementation of exercise programs for the correction of the physical condition of deaf primary school-age children by means of physical education based on physical games in the daily routine of special boarding schools has a positive effect on the children’s respiratory, cardiovascular and sympathoadrenal systems.
Today, there are certain contradictions between the modern requirements of the labor market and the learning outcomes of future managers of physical culture and sports in Ukraine. The purpose of the ...study is to expand the pedagogical tools for teaching disciplines, which would contribute to the formation of professional competence of future managers and develop in them the desire for self-improvement, training, interest in innovations in the field of physical culture and sports. The theoretical (analysis, systematization and generalization, content analysis), empirical (questionnaire) and statistical (descriptive statistics) research methods were used. A survey of the faculty of higher educational institutions of Ukraine was conducted, which are directly involved in the preparation of future managers of physical culture and sports and students studying at the second (master) level of higher education. A total of 93 teachers and 189 students of four higher educational institutions were surveyed. It was determined that 56% of students want to gain knowledge and practical experience through the use of innovative teaching methods and the creativity of teachers. Surveys of teaching staff showed a positive trend towards the active use of innovative teaching methods to form the professional competence of future managers of physical culture and sports, in particular, teachers periodically use training lectures (70%), discussion lectures (81%), business and role-playing games (73%), case method (50%), facilitation (38%) and coaching (35%). The study showed that the opinions of two categories of respondents (96% of teachers and 90% of students) about the relevance of the profession of manager of physical culture and sports and the desirability of training such specialists in particular coincide.
