Proteomes of pathogenic Leptospira interrogans and L. borgpetersenii and the saprophytic L. biflexa were filtered through computational tools to identify Outer Membrane Proteins (OMPs) that satisfy ...the required biophysical parameters for their presence on the outer membrane. A total of 133, 130, and 144 OMPs were identified in L. interrogans, L. borgpetersenii, and L. biflexa, respectively, which forms approximately 4% of proteomes. A holistic analysis of transporting and pathogenic characteristics of OMPs together with Clusters of Orthologous Groups (COGs) among the OMPs and their distribution across 3 species was made and put forward a set of 21 candidate OMPs specific to pathogenic leptospires. It is also found that proteins homologous to the candidate OMPs were also present in other pathogenic species of leptospires. Six OMPs from L. interrogans and 2 from L. borgpetersenii observed to have similar COGs while those were not found in any intermediate or saprophytic forms. These OMPs appears to have role in infection and pathogenesis and useful for anti‐leptospiral strategies.
The Triton X‐114‐based solubilization and temperature‐dependent phase separation of proteins is used for subcellular fractionation where, aqueous, detergent, and pellet fractions represents ...cytoplasmic, outer membrane (OM), and inner membrane proteins, respectively. Mass spectrometry‐based proteomic analysis of Triton X‐114 fractions of proteomic analysis of Leptospira interrogans identified 2957 unique proteins distributed across the fractions. The results are compared with bioinformatics predictions on their subcellular localization and pathogenic nature. Analysis of the distribution of proteins across the Triton X‐114 fractions with the predicted characteristics is performed based on “number” of unique type of proteins, and “quantity” which represents the amount of unique protein. The highest number of predicted outer membrane proteins (OMPs) and pathogenic proteins are found in aqueous and pellet fractions, whereas detergent fraction representing the OM has the highest quantity of OMPs and pathogenic proteins though lower in number than the aqueous and pellet fractions. This leaves the possibility of an upsurge in pathogenic proteins and OMPs on the OM under pathogenic conditions suggesting their potential use to combat leptospirosis. Further, the Triton X‐114 subcellular fractions are more correlated to enrichment of pathogenic proteins predicted by MP3 software than predicted localization.
Background: Corticotrophin-releasing hormone (CRH) is the major regulator of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) secretion from the anterior pituitary and acts via CRH-1 receptors (CRH-1R). ...Corticotropinoma though autonomous, still retain their responsiveness to CRH and hence, we hypothesize that in vivo detection of CRH-1 receptors on pituitary adenoma using Gallium-68 ( (68) Ga)-tagged CRH can indicate the functionality of adenoma, and combining it with positron emission tomographycomputed tomography (PET-CT) can provide requisite anatomical information. Methods: Subjects with ACTH-dependent Cushing's syndrome (CS) (n = 2 7, 24 with Cushing's disease CD, 3 with ectopic CS ECS) underwent (68) Ga CRH PET-CT. Two nuclear medicine physicians read these images for adenoma delineation and superimposed them on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sella. The information provided was used for intraoperative navigation and compared with operative and histopathological findings. Findings: .sup.68Ga CRH PET-CT correctly delineated corticotropinoma in all the 24 cases of CD, including the 10 cases with adenoma size < 6mm (4 cases were negative on MRI). Corticotropinoma location on .sup.68Ga CRH PET fusion images with MRI were concordant with operative findings and were further confirmed on histopathology. There was no tracer uptake in the pituitary in 2 patients with ECS, while, in another, the diffuse uptake in pituitary suggested ectopic CRH production. Conclusion: .sup.68Ga CRH PET-CT represents a novel, noninvasive molecular imaging, targeting CRH receptors that not only delineate corticotropinoma and provides the surgeon with valuable information for intraoperative tumor navigation, but also helps in differentiating a pituitary from an extra-pituitary source of ACTH-dependent CS. Second-generation bioenergy, a carbon neutral or negative renewable resource, is crucial to achieving India's net-zero emission targets. Crop residues are being targeted as a bioenergy resource as ...they are otherwise burned on-field, leading to significant pollutant emissions. But estimating their bioenergy potential is problematic because of broad assumptions about their surplus fractions. Here, we use comprehensive surveys and multivariate regression models to estimate the bioenergy potential of surplus crop residues in India. These are with high sub-national and crop disaggregation that can facilitate the development of efficient supply chain mechanisms for its widespread usage. The estimated potential for 2019 of 1313 PJ can increase the present bioenergy installed capacity by 82% but is likely insufficient alone to meet India's bioenergy targets. The shortage of crop residue for bioenergy, combined with the sustainability concerns raised by previous studies, imply a need to reassess the strategy for the use of this resource.

Abstract
Understanding the climate impact of residential emissions starts with determining the fuel consumption of various household activities. While cooking emissions have been widely studied, ...non-cooking energy-consumption activities in the residential sector such as heating and lighting, have been overlooked owing to the unavailability of data at national levels. The present study uses data from the Carbonaceous Aerosol Emissions, Source Apportionment and Climate Impacts (COALESCE) project, which consists of residential surveys over 6000 households across 49 districts of India, to understand the energy consumed by non-cooking residential activities. Regression models are developed to estimate information in non-surveyed districts using demographic, housing, and meteorological data as predictors. Energy demand is further quantified and distributed nationally at a 4 × 4 km resolution. Results show that the annual energy consumption from non-cooking activities is 1106 201 PJ, which is equal to one-fourth of the cooking energy demand. Freely available biomass is widely used to heat water on traditional stoves, even in the warmer regions of western and southern India across all seasons. Space heating (51%) and water heating (42%) dominate non-cooking energy consumption. In comparison, nighttime heating for security personnel (5%), partly-residential personal heating by guards, dominant in urban centers and kerosene lighting (2%) utilize minimal energy. Biomass fuels account for over 90% of the non-cooking consumption, while charcoal and kerosene make up the rest. Half of the energy consumption occurs during winter months (DJF), while 10% of the consumption occurs during monsoon, when kerosene lighting is the highest. Firewood is the most heavily used fuel source in western India, charcoal in the northern hilly regions, agricultural residues and dung cake in the Indo-Gangetic plains, and kerosene in eastern India. The study shows that ∼20% of residential energy consumption is on account of biomass-based heating and kerosene lighting activities.
Background:
Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH)-secreting pituitary adenoma (TSHoma) is the rarest functioning pituitary adenoma.
Methods:
A retrospective analysis of eight patients of TSHomas to ...highlight the presentations, diagnostic challenges, and treatment outcomes.
Results:
Median age at diagnosis was 42 years, median latency to diagnosis was 2.5 years, and thyrotoxic and compressive symptoms were the most common presenting symptoms. At presentation, three cases were plurihormonal, six cases were on medical treatment including thyroxine, and two cases were incidentally discovered. Imaging revealed macroadenoma in all cases. Seven cases underwent pituitary surgery, after which three achieved remission. Another case entered remission after adjunctive radiotherapy. Thyrotropin (TSH) immunostaining was demonstrated in six out of seven adenomas.
Conclusion:
TSHoma is a rare functioning pituitary tumor with both silent and symptomatic presentations. Diagnosis can be established with biochemical and imaging features, even without dynamic tests.

To help us in areas of need in order to educate the staff regarding the techniques of PPE ...and thus ensure patient and staff safety and care during the pandemic.
Method
Novel coronavirus 2019 was first described in December 2019 in Wuhan in China. Since those initial few cases, it has rapidly proliferated to a global pandemic, putting an inordinate amount of strain on healthcare systems around the world. We believe that the technique of donning and doffing if followed as per PHE guidelines would be of help in both preventing the infection and improve the care and safety of both patients and staff.
This Audit includes both In-patient and Out-patient units in Psychiatric services across North Wales. Data were collected from 19 units out of 39. We observed covertly 325 staff members belonging to various cadres. Apart from the Donning and Doffing techniques, we also observed the availability of designated areas for this purpose and the availability of PPE as well.
Data collection was by junior and senior doctors from various sites of the mental health unit in North Wales. A proforma was provided, the standards were based on PHE guidelines.
Result
It was noted that just about 50% of the staff followed donning as per guidance. Amongst all three sites, the Central team showed a better adherence with 85% of them donning PPE correctly. whereas only 22% adhered to donning in the West team.
Only 21% of them managed to doff PPE as per guidance amongst all 3 centres in North Wales.
It was also noted that there are no designated areas to Don and Doff in outpatient units. Staff, in general, seem to not adhere to the guidance of utilising a mask, especially when within 2 meters distance of other staff.
Conclusion
We will be presenting the Audit at the regional meeting. After discussion with the infection prevention control team and Health and safety lead, we intend to improvise the wards with designated areas for donning and doffing. Teaching sessions for the staff in all three sites, reminders in various areas of the community mental health units and inpatient units.
We are hoping that these recommendations will help us in achieving our aim of health and safety during this pandemic.
