In recent years, several studies have analysed the skills and strategies that young people develop in digital environments and their relationship with cultural franchises within their transmedia ...universes. This article, clearly theoretical, aims to offer a critical analysis of the commodification of the creative work that young people produce on the web. Digital environments offer few possibilities for democratising public discourse. The online media production of teenagers is usually based on acts of false participation, since their possibilities of influence are very limited. At the same time, their actions in these digital environments are used to sustain a model of cognitive capitalism through processes of alienation and free labour that result in the advent of an information feudalism that transfers the goods of youth culture from the collective intellect into private hands. The idiopathic retinitis, vasculitis, aneurysms and neuroretinitis syndrome is a rare retinal vascular disorder characterized by multiple leaking aneurysmal dilations, retinal vasculitis, ...neuroretinitis and peripheral vascular ischemia. Visual loss mainly occurs due to the development of retinal neovascularization and/or exudative maculopathy. Although the treatment of choice has not yet been established, retinal photocoagulation seems to be the best option to control the disease and to prevent its progression. Herein, we report a case of idiopathic retinitis, vasculitis, aneurysms and neuroretinitis syndrome with both retinal neovascularization and macular exudation successfully managed with intravitreal ranibizumab (Lucentis®) as adjunctive therapy to retinal photocoagulation.
Background
To study the visual outcomes of neovascular AMD (nAMD) treated with anti‐vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs at national level.
Methods
Multicenter national database of nAMD ...eyes treated with anti‐VEGF intravitreal injections (ranibizumab, aflibercept, bevacizumab) in fixed bimonthly (FB) or treat‐and‐extend (TAE) regimens. Demographics, visual acuity (VA) in logarithm of the minimum angle of resolution (logMAR) ETDRS letters at baseline and subsequent visits, number of injections and visits data were collected using a validated web‐based tool (Fight Retinal Blindness!).
Results
1273 eyes (1014 patients) were included, 971 treatment naïve (TN) and 302 previously treated (PT). Baseline VA (mean ± SD) was 57.5 (±19.5) and 62.2 (±17) (p > 0.001), and 24 months final VA was 60.4 (±21.2) and 58.8 (±21.1) (p = 0.326), respectively. Mean VA change at 12/24 months was +4.2/+2.9 letters in TN eyes and +0.1/−3.4 letters in PT eyes (p < 0.001/p < 0.001). The percentage of ≥15 letters gainers/losers at 24 months was 24.8%/14.5% in TN, and 10.3%/15.7% in PT eyes. The median number of injections/visits at 12 months was 7/9 in TN and 6/8 in PT (p = 0.002/p < 0.001) and at 24 months was 11/16 in TN and 11/14 in PT (p = 0.329/p < 0.001). Study drugs included ranibizumab (39.5%), aflibercept (41.2%) and bevacizumab (19.3%).
Conclusion
Independent, large‐scale national audits are feasible if committed health care professionals are provided with efficient information technology systems to do them. The results described here represent an adequate measurement of the quality of care delivered nationwide and benchmark the clinical management of nAMD at a country level compared to other real‐world international cohorts.
Se presentan los resultados de una investigación de tipo transversal, que analizó la relación entre las conductas alimentarias de riesgo y el rendimiento académico en universitarios. Para esto se ...aplicó encuestas a estudiantes de la Universidad Católica del Norte (Coquimbo-Chile), y se realizaron mediciones de su indice de masa corporal. Los resultados del estudio sugieren que los estudiantes con mayor vulnerabilidad a la sensibilidad ante la recompensa presentaron niveles de sobrealimentación elevados, o tendencia a los atracones de comida. Además, estos estudiantes presentaron mayores niveles de preferencias por alimentos grasos y dulces. Estos constructos resultaron ser determinantes de un elevado índice de masa corporal, y además, de un rendimiento académico más bajo. Los resultados del estudio sugieren que estrategias para promover la alimentación saludable en estudiantes universitarios que presentan vulnerabilidad por sensibilidad ante la recompensa, deben ser más efectivas para mejorar el desempeño académico global.

El objetivo de este estudio fue detectar los motivos de práctica en jugadores regulares de pádel. Se accedió a un total de 77 participantes (43 hombres y 34 mujeres) de la Comunidad Autónoma de ...Extremadura (España). Se utilizó la versión validada al español de la escala de medida de los motivos para la actividad física, revisada (MPAM-R). Se realizaron cálculos de comparación de medias a través del anova de un factor para estudiar las diferencias dentro de cada género, y la t-Student para conocer las diferencias entre hombres y mujeres. Los resultados revelan diferencias en los motivos de práctica dentro del género femenino en relación con el rango de edad, tiempo de práctica, días de práctica y nivel de juego. Destacan las elevadas puntuaciones otorgadas a la competencia (F = 8.677; R 2adj = 0.48) y al aspecto social (F = 4.253; R 2adj = 0.28) en mujeres de más de 40 años, y al fitness/salud en jugadoras con una práctica regular de 6 meses a 3 años (F = 23.553; R 2adj = 0.73). Se observaron también diferencias entre hombres y mujeres, siendo relevantes las controversias en los motivos que mueven a practicantes con menos de 6 meses de experiencia. Dichos resultados ofrecen información relevante sobre los motivos de práctica del pádel, siendo de utilidad para el desarrollo de planes de actuación que potencien la adherencia al deporte, la mejora de la salud y calidad de vida de las personas, evitando el abandono de la práctica de actividad física y el sedentarismo, especialmente en adultos de más de 35 años.
The Ly\(\alpha\) emission is an important tracer of neutral gas in a circum-galactic medium (CGM) around high-z QSOs. The origin of Lya emission around QSOs is still under debate which has ...significant implications for galaxy formation and evolution. In this paper, we study Ly\(\alpha\) nebulae around two high redshift QSOs, SDSS J141935.58+525710.7 at \(z=3.218\) (hereafter QSO1) and SDSS J141813.40+525240.4 at \(z=3.287\) (hereafter QSO2), from the miniJPAS survey within the AEGIS field. Using the contiguous narrow-band (NB) images from the miniJPAS survey and SDSS spectra, we analyzed their morphology, nature, and origin. We report the serendipitous detection of double-core Ly\al\ morphology around two QSOs which is rarely seen among other QSOs. The separations of the two Ly\al~cores are 11.07 \(\pm\) 2.26 kpcs (1.47 \(\pm\) 0.3\(^{\prime\prime}\)) and 9.73 \(\pm\) 1.55 kpcs (1.31 \(\pm\) 0.21\(^{\prime\prime}\)) with Ly\(\alpha\)~line luminosities of \(\sim\) 3.35 \(\times 10^{44}\) erg s \(^{-1} \) and \(\sim\) 6.99 \(\times\) 10\(^{44}\) erg s \(^{-1}\) for QSO1 and QSO2, respectively. The miniJPAS NB images show evidence of extended Ly\(\alpha\) and CIV morphology for both QSOs and extended HeII morphology for QSO1. These two QSOs may be potential candidates for the new enormous Lyman alpha nebula (ELAN) found from the miniJPAS survey due to their extended morphology in the shallow depth and relatively high Ly\(\alpha\) luminosities. We suggest that galactic outflows are the major powering mechanism for the double-core Ly\(\alpha\) morphology. Considering the relatively shallow exposures of miniJPAS, the objects found here could be the tip of the iceberg of a promising number of such objects that will be uncovered in the upcoming full J-PAS survey and deep IFU observations with 8-10m telescopes will be essential for constraining the underlying physical mechanism that is responsible for the double-cored morphology.
Resumen Introducción y objetivos Estudiar la validez de la función SCORE original de bajo riesgo sin y con colesterol unido a lipoproteínas de alta densidad y SCORE calibrada en población española. ...Métodos Análisis agrupado con datos individuales de 12 estudios de cohorte de base poblacional. Se incluyó a 30.919 participantes de 40-64 años sin enfermedades cardiovasculares en el momento del reclutamiento, que se siguieron durante 10 años para la mortalidad cardiovascular contemplada en el proyecto SCORE. La validez de las funciones se analizó mediante el área bajo la curva ROC (discriminación) y el test de Hosmer-Lemeshow (calibración), respectivamente. Resultados Se dispuso de 286.105 personas/año. La mortalidad a 10 años por causas cardiovasculares fue del 0,6%. La razón de casos esperados/observados fue de 9,1, 6,5 y 9,1 en varones y de 3,3, 1,3 y 1,9 en mujeres con las funciones SCORE original de bajo riesgo sin y con colesterol unido a lipoproteínas de alta densidad y SCORE calibrada, respectivamente; diferencias estadísticamente significativas con el test de calibración de Hosmer-Lemeshow entre la mortalidad predicha con SCORE y la observada (p < 0,001 en ambos sexos y en todas las funciones). Las áreas bajo la curva ROC con SCORE original fueron 0,68 en varones y 0,69 en mujeres. Conclusiones Todas las versiones de las funciones SCORE disponibles en España sobreestiman significativamente la mortalidad cardiovascular observada en la población española. A pesar de la aceptable capacidad de discriminación, la predicción del número de acontecimientos cardiovasculares mortales (calibración) fue significativamente imprecisa.
