This paper aims to validate five determinants of service quality and to examine the service quality-customer satisfaction link in the port logistics service industry of a developing and transitional ...economy. First, the research reviews literature pertinent to service quality and customer satisfaction. Second, it uses both qualitative and quantitative methods through focus group discussion and direct interviews with 212 respondents who are the employees of firms that have been using port logistics service provided by Cat Lai Port, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Finally, the multivariate analysis is subsequently employed to analyze data obtained from surveys by structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. Findings indicate that port logistics service quality is positively determined by five factors including responsiveness, assurance, reliability, tangibles and empathy. In addition, port logistics service quality exerts positive influence on customer satisfaction. Most noticeably, as embedded in the tangibles component, technological advancements appear to enhance service quality which ultimately satisfies customers in the port logistics service industry.
Information security is a fundamental and urgent issue in the digital transformation era. Cryptographic techniques and digital signatures have been applied to protect and authenticate relevant ...information. However, with the advent of quantum computers and quantum algorithms, classical cryptographic techniques have been in danger of collapsing because quantum computers can solve complex problems in polynomial time. Stemming from that risk, researchers worldwide have stepped up research on post-quantum algorithms to resist attack by quantum computers. In this review paper, we survey studies in recent years on post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and provide statistics on the number and content of publications, including a literature overview, detailed explanations of the most common methods so far, current implementation status, implementation comparisons, and discussion on future work. These studies focused on essential public cryptography techniques and digital signature schemes, and the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) launched a competition to select the best candidate for the expected standard. Recent studies have practically implemented the public key encryption/key encapsulation mechanism (PKE/KEM) and digital signature schemes on different hardware platforms and applied various optimization measures based on other criteria. Along with the increasing number of scientific publications, the recent trend of PQC research is increasingly evident and is the general trend in the cryptography industry. The movement opens up a promising avenue for researchers in public key cryptography and digital signatures, especially on algorithms selected by NIST.

The development of smart homes involves multiple technological aspects, which include big data, mobile networks, cloud computing, Internet of Things, and even artificial intelligence. Digital information is the main component of signal control and flow in a smart home, while information security is another important aspect. In the event of equipment failure, the task of safeguarding the system’s information is of the utmost importance. Since smart homes are automatically controlled, the problem of mobile network security must be taken seriously. To address these issues, this paper focuses on information security, big data, mobile networks, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. Security efficiency can be enhanced by using a Secure Hash Algorithm 256 (SHA-256), which is an authentication mechanism that, with the help of the user, can authenticate each interaction of a given device with a WebServer by using an encrypted username, password, and token. This framework could be used for an automated burglar alarm system, guest attendance monitoring, and light switches, all of which are easily integrated with any smart city base. In this way, IoT solutions can allow real-time monitoring and connection with central systems for automated burglar alarms. The monitoring framework is developed on the strength of the web application to obtain real-time display, storage, and warning functions for local or remote monitoring control. The monitoring system is stable and reliable when applying SHA-256.
Nowadays, cryptographic algorithms are widely used to build safety mechanisms for specific objects in security services. Nevertheless, these algorithms are implemented in the hardware or software of ...the physical devices. Consequently, attackers will exploit physical information leakages, such as the device's power consumption, and use them to get secret keys. The correlation power analysis (CPA) attack is a powerful and efficient cryptographic technique. The evaluation method, however, takes time because many traces are necessary to overcome designs protected by different countermeasures. Therefore, this article proposes a new technique to reduce the computation time by extracting the point of interest (POI) with an interpolation method. The proposal uses the local extreme value and two adjacent samples around it to interpolate the actual peak amplitude. Compared to the conventional CPA, the execution time in our solution is decreased by approximately <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">9.55\times </tex-math></inline-formula>, with only 53.32% of the given power traces used for attacking the masking design. Moreover, this technique can deal with the public desynchronized ASCAD database and has better results than recent alignment preprocessing methods. We apply the proposal in the preprocessing step before performing the previously non-profiled deep learning-based attacks. Our suggestion requires only 5000 traces, while the reported attacks fail or require more traces to recover the correct subkey.
Diarrheal disease is a complex syndrome that remains a leading cause of global childhood morbidity and mortality. The diagnosis of enteric pathogens in a timely and precise manner is important for ...making treatment decisions and informing public health policy, but accurate diagnosis is a major challenge in industrializing countries. Multiplex molecular diagnostic techniques may represent a significant improvement over classical approaches. We evaluated the Luminex xTAG gastrointestinal pathogen panel (GPP) assay for the detection of common enteric bacterial and viral pathogens in Vietnam. Microbiological culture and real-time PCR were used as gold standards. The tests were performed on 479 stool samples collected from people admitted to the hospital for diarrheal disease throughout Vietnam. Sensitivity and specificity were calculated for the xTAG GPP for the seven principal diarrheal etiologies. The sensitivity and specificity for the xTAG GPP were >88% for Shigellaspp.,Campylobacterspp., rotavirus, norovirus genotype 1/2 (GI/GII), and adenovirus compared to those of microbiological culture and/or real-time PCR. However, the specificity was low (∼60%) for Salmonella species. Additionally, a number of important pathogens that are not identified in routine hospital procedures in this setting, such as Cryptosporidiumspp. and Clostridium difficile, were detected with the GPP. The use of the Luminex xTAG GPP for the detection of enteric pathogens in settings, like Vietnam, would dramatically improve the diagnostic accuracy and capacity of hospital laboratories, allowing for timely and appropriate therapy decisions and a wider understanding of the epidemiology of pathogens associated with severe diarrheal disease in low-resource settings.
This paper proposes a new approach of digital predistortion (DPD) technique based on the adaptive indirect learning architecture (ILA) by using a recursive prediction error minimization (RPEM) ...algorithm for linearizing radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers (PAs) in emerging wideband communication systems. In the proposed RPEM-based linearization approach, the forgetting factor varies with time and is less sensitive to noise. Therefore, the predistorter (PD) parameter estimates become more consistent and accurate in steady state so that the mean square errors can be reduced. Both the error vector magnitude (EVM) and the adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR) are used to evaluate the DPD technique in RF PAs employing the proposed linearization. The efficiency validation of the proposed method is based on a simulated PA Wiener model. The simulation results have clarified the improvement of the proposed adaptive ILA-based DPD with RPEM algorithm in terms of both EVM and ACPR.
Along with the development of the Internet of Things (IoT), waste management has appeared as a serious issue. Waste management is a daily task in urban areas, which requires a large amount of labour ...resources and affects natural, budgetary, efficiency, and social aspects. Many approaches have been proposed to optimize waste management, such as using the nearest neighbour search, colony optimization, genetic algorithm, and particle swarm optimization methods. However, the results are still too vague and cannot be applied in real systems, such as in universities or cities. Recently, there has been a trend of combining optimal waste management strategies with low-cost IoT architectures. In this paper, we propose a novel method that vigorously and efficiently achieves waste management by predicting the probability of the waste level in trash bins. By using machine learning and graph theory, the system can optimize the collection of waste with the shortest path. This article presents an investigation case implemented at the real campus of Ton Duc Thang University (Vietnam) to evaluate the performance and practicability of the system’s implementation. We examine data transfer on the LoRa module and demonstrate the advantages of the proposed system, which is implemented through a simple circuit designed with low cost, ease of use, and replace ability. Our system saves time by finding the best route in the management of waste collection.
Detection of vehicles on the road can contribute to the establishment of an intelligent transportation management system to allow smooth transportation and the reduction of road accidents. Thus far, ...an efficient and low-cost polymer flexible pressure sensor for vehicle detection is lacking. This paper presents a flexible sensor for vehicle sensing and demonstrates a wireless system for monitoring vehicles on the road. A vehicle sensor was fabricated by sandwiching a polyurethane material between aluminum top/bottom electrodes. The sensing mechanism was based on changes in capacitance due to variation in the distance between the two electrodes at an applied external pressure. A clear response against a pressure load of 0.65 Mpa was observed, which is the same pressure as that of the car tire area in contact with the road. Significantly, the sensor was easy to embed on the road line due to its mechanical flexibility and large size. A field test was carried out by embedding the sensor on the road and crossing the sensor with a car. Moreover, the signal displayed on the tablet indicated that the sensing system can be used for wireless detection of the axle, speed, or weight of the vehicle on the road. The findings suggest that the flexible pressure sensor is a promising tool for use as a low-cost vehicle detector in future intelligent transportation management.
Shigella sonnei is a human-adapted pathogen that is emerging globally as the dominant agent of bacterial dysentery. To investigate local establishment, we sequenced the genomes of 263 Vietnamese S. ...sonnei isolated over 15 y. Our data show that S. sonnei was introduced into Vietnam in the 1980s and has undergone localized clonal expansion, punctuated by genomic fixation events through periodic selective sweeps. We uncover geographical spread, spatially restricted frontier populations, and convergent evolution through local gene pool sampling. This work provides a unique, high-resolution insight into the microevolution of a pioneering human pathogen during its establishment in a new host population.
This paper proposes a novel all-digital background calibration technique for gain and timing mismatches in Time-Interleaved Analog-to-Digital Converters (TIADCs) using adaptive noise canceller (ANC). ...The error signals due to the gain and timing mismatches are expressed in linear regression terms, producing the estimation problem of ANC. The gain and clock skew coefficients are estimated by maximizing the output signal-to-noise ratio in ANC system. The correction is simple by subtracting the re-constructed errors from the TIADC output. The proposed calibration technique eliminates the input spectrum constants as well as removes high-pass filters, which are required in the conventional free-band based calibration technique. In order to validate the proposed approach, simulations are carried out for an 11-bit, 2.7GS/s four-channel TIADC for various input signals. Results show that the proposed calibration produces excellent performance in terms of mismatch distortion suppression. It achieves the SNDR and SFDR improvement of 19dB and 49dB, respectively. Moreover, the synthesized design with hardware co-simulation on Xilinx Kintex-7 field-programmable gate array (FPGA) platform consumes only 7.36% of the hardware resources of the FPGA chip and reduces the mismatch tone level up to -87dB.
