The main purpose of this study was to explore the predictive utility of demographic, social and lifestyle variables in psychological well-being. The participants were 410 pre-service teachers in ...Turkey. Three research instruments were utilized in the current study: Psychological Well-Being Scale, Lifestyle Inventory and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. Both social support and lifestyle variables accounted for the additional variance in psychological well-being above and beyond the effects of demographic variables. Purpose in life was best predicted by being-married; lifestyle variables made the most contribution to autonomy; and social support-friend were found to be the best predictor of positive relations with others. It seems that demographic, social support and lifestyle variables play a differential role in psychological well-being.
In this study, it was investigated the behaviors of primary and secondary school students were perceived as problematic by teachers and whether or not teachers' burnout situations are influencing ...this perception. 188 teachers which of 112 females (60%) and 76 males (40%) constituted the sample group. Maslach Burnout Inventory and a short questionnaire form were used for data collection. It has been shown that the decrease in the level of burnout of teachers leads them to be more sensitive to their students and to prefer more constructive and humanist methods to correct the behaviors of the students they perceive as problematic. It was also found that the increase in the burnout level of the teachers led to more disciplinary attitudes towards the students.
The aim of this study was to identify how factors related students, their families and school (the teachers) have an effect on the failure of the students in primary and secondary schools. The ...study sample composed of a total of 755 students from 10 primary schools and 8 secondary schools in province of Balıkesir. Of 755 students, 358 students are from primary schools whereas 397 students are from secondary schools. Findings of this research showed that students are more likey to see themselves as the cause of their failures. Students have also indicated some other factors caused by their families, schools and teachers as the causes of failure although these factors have less effect than those caused by the students themselves. ÖzetBu çalışmanın amacı ortaokul ve liselerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin başarısızlık durumlarına etki eden (kendisinden, ailesinden ve okuldan-öğretmenden kaynaklı) faktörlerin neler olduğunun belirlenmesidir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Balıkesir il merkezinde bulunan 10 ortaokul ve 8 lisede okuyan toplam 755 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu öğrencilerin 358’i ortaokul, 397’si de liselerde öğrenim görmektedir. Bu araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular değerlendirildiğinde öğrencilerin yaşadıkları başarısızlıklara neden olarak daha çok kendisinden kaynaklı durumları görme eğiliminde oldukları saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin aileden, okul ve öğretmenden kaynaklı birçok durumu da kendisinden kaynaklı nedenler kadar olmasa da başarısızlık nedeni olarak gösterdikleri görülmüştür.

olarak insanların strese karşı gösterdikleri farklı davranışları ölçen
Başa Çıkma Stratejileri (COPE) ölçeği ile bireylerin yaşam kalitesini ölçmeye
yarayan Dünya Sağlık Örgütü Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği Kısa Formu (WHOQOL-BREF-TR)
kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi sonucunda boşanmanın bireylerin yaşam
kalitesini etkilediği, cinsiyete göre yaşam kalitesi düzeylerinin farklılaştığı
ve eğitim seviyesinin boşanma ile baş etmede belirleyici bir değişken olduğu
saptanmıştır.
In this study, it is aimed
to reveal the multidimensional effect of divorce on separated couples. In
this respect, it is examined what strategies individuals use to cope with the
divorce process and what psychological problems they have experienced after
divorce. 149 separated (divorced) individuals participated in the study. Of
these, 132 (88.6%) were female and 17 (11.4%) were male.
As data collection tool in
this study, Coping Strategies Scale (COPE) and the World Health Organization
Quality of Life Questionnaire-Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF-TR) were used.
Coping Strategies (COPE)
scale, which measures the different behaviors they show people against stress.
The World Health Organization Short-Form of Quality of Life Scale
(WHOQOL-BREF-TR) is used to measure the quality of life of individuals.
As a result of the analysis
of the data, it was determined that the divorce affected the quality of life of
the individuals, the level of quality of life according to the sex
differentiated and the educational level was a decisive variable in coping with
the divorce.
► Music therapy that uses Ney music has a considerable and positive effect on reducing the participants’ anger and psychological symptoms. ► Through introducing a new application of Ney music from ...non-western culture, the current study proposes a different method for the treatment of anger in the field of music therapy. ► The current study seems to be the first study which examined the role of music therapy on reducing anger.
The current study investigated whether music therapy carried with the Ney (a wind instrument used in classical Turkish music) has a positive effect on decreasing people's anger and psychological symptoms. The Ney is a Turkish folk instrument and known as a great symbol of Sufi music. In Mevlana philosophy, the Ney makes people feel at ease, and make them feel closer to God. The participants were 14 university students, who were randomly assigned to two groups. This experimental group received music therapy sessions twice a week during 7 weeks, resulting in a total of 14 sessions. The control group did not receive any therapy. The research instruments were administered as a pre-test, a post-test, and a follow-up test. The findings revealed that music therapy carried with Ney music has a considerable long term effect on reducing the participants’ anger and psychological symptoms.

amacı öğretmenlerin sınıf yönetimi stillerini belirlemek için geliştirilen
Sınıf Yönetimi Stilleri Ölçeği’nin (SYSÖ) Türkçeye uyarlanmasını yapmaktır. Uygun
örnekleme yöntemi ile ...belirlenen Millî Eğitim Bakanlığında farklı kurumlarda ve
branşlarda olan toplam 306 öğretmen katılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında ölçme
aracı Türkçeye çevrilerek psikometrik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Ölçme aracının
yapı geçerliliği Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA) ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA)
ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Faktör analizi öncesinde, analiz için gerekli olan
eksik, hatalı değerler, normallik varsayımları test edilmiştir. Elde edilen
bulgulara göre DFA ile test edilen 12 maddelik ve dört boyutlu ölçeğin yeterli
uyum iyiliği indekslerine sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Madde analizleri yapılan
ölçeğin maddelerinin yeterli ayırt edicilik gücüne sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.
SYSÖ alt boyutları arasındaki ilişkiler için Pearson Korelasyon Katsayısı,
ölçeğin iç tutarlılık katsayısının belirlenmesinde ise Cronbach Alpha katsayısı
kullanılmıştır. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık düzeylerinin alt boyutlar ve genel
düzeyde kabul edilebilir aralıklarda olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this study is to adapt Inventory of Classroom Management Style (ICMS), a scale used to determine classroom management style of teachers, into Turkish. 306 teachers, who currently work under Ministry of National Education in Turkey, have participated in the study where appropriate sampling was used. Within the scope of the study, the aforesaid inventory was translated into Turkish and psychometric aspects were investigated. Construct validity of the inventory was determined by Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Any incomplete or inaccurate values as well as normality assumptions required for analysis were tested prior to conducting factor analysis. Based on the findings, it was found that the inventory, containing12 items and four dimensions, had sufficient goodness of fit indices. Item analysis was performed for the items of the scale and it was found out that the items were capable for sufficient distinctiveness. Pearson correlation coefficient was used for correlations between sub-dimensions of ICMS whereas Cronbach’s alpha was used to determine internal consistency (i.e. reliability) of the scale. Internal consistency levels of the scale were found to be within the acceptable limits in terms of sub-dimensions and general level.
Bu çalışmada eğitim kurumlarında görev tüm eğitimcilerin (öğretmen,yönetici, psikolojik danışman) sık karşılaşılan öğrenci problemlerine yönelikfarkındalıkları ve bu problemlerin çözümüne ilişkin ...yaklaşımlarının nelerolduğunu belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Etkili bir öğretme-öğrenme ortamı geliştirenöğretmenler, eğitim faaliyetlerinden, öğrencilerin tanınmasından ve öğrencilerinproblemlerinin çözülmesinden sorumludur. Bu nedenle öğretmenlerin öğrenciproblemleri ve gelişim düzeyleri hakkında yeterli bilgiye sahip olmasıgerekmektedir. Öğrenci problem alanları olarak beden ve sağlık, okul-öğretmenders,ev-aile, toplumsal ilişkiler, meslek seçimi ile kişilikle ilgili problemlerincelenecektir. Çalışmada, 28 ortaokuldan 3445 öğrenci ve 9 liseden 3792öğrenciden toplamış olduğu veriler ile belirlenen problem alanları ile ilgili tespitedilen bulgulardan faydalanılmıştır. Bu çalışmada kullanılan görüşme formuaraştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilmiş ve veriler toplanmıştır. Toplam 55 eğitimçalışanı ile görüşme yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizinde içerik analiziyöntemi kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak eğitim çalışanlarının öğrencilerin sorunlarınailişkin farkındalık düzeylerinin yüksek ve önemli çalışmalar yaptıkları ancak yeterli olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrenci problemlerine yönelik yenilikçiönleyici bakış açıları geliştiremedikleri belirlenmiştir.
