In the rapidly evolving landscape of social media, the demand for precise sentiment analysis (SA) on multimodal data has become increasingly pivotal. This paper introduces a sophisticated data lake ...architecture tailored for efficient multimodal emotion feature extraction, addressing the challenges posed by diverse data types. The proposed framework encompasses a robust storage solution and an innovative SA model, multilevel spatial attention fusion (MLSAF), adept at handling text and visual data concurrently. The data lake architecture comprises five layers, facilitating real-time and offline data collection, storage, processing, standardized interface services, and data mining analysis. The MLSAF model, integrated into the data lake architecture, utilizes a novel approach to SA. It employs a text-guided spatial attention mechanism, fusing textual and visual features to discern subtle emotional interplays. The model’s end-to-end learning approach and attention modules contribute to its efficacy in capturing nuanced sentiment expressions. Empirical evaluations on established multimodal sentiment datasets, MVSA-Single and MVSA-Multi, validate the proposed methodology’s effectiveness. Comparative analyses with state-of-the-art models showcase the superior performance of our approach, with an accuracy improvement of 6% on MVSA-Single and 1.6% on MVSA-Multi. This research significantly contributes to optimizing SA in social media data by offering a versatile and potent framework for data management and analysis. The integration of MLSAF with a scalable data lake architecture presents a strategic innovation poised to navigate the evolving complexities of social media data analytics.
Perovskite solar cells based on two-dimensional/three-dimensional (2D/3D) hierarchical structure have attracted significant attention in recent years due to their promising photovoltaic performance ...and stability. However, obtaining a detailed understanding of interfacial mechanism at the 2D/3D heterojunction, for example, the ligand-chemistry-dependent nature of the 2D/3D heterojunction and its influence on charge collection and the final photovoltaic outcome, is not yet fully developed. Here we demonstrate the underlying 3D phase templates growth of quantum wells (QWs) within a 2D capping layer, which is further influenced by the fluorination of spacers and compositional engineering in terms of thickness distribution and orientation. Better QW alignment and faster dynamics of charge transfer at the 2D/3D heterojunction result in higher charge mobility and lower charge recombination loss, largely explaining the significant improvements in charge collection and open-circuit voltage (V OC) in complete solar cells. As a result, 2D/3D solar cells with a power-conversion efficiency of 21.15% were achieved, significantly higher than the 3D counterpart (19.02%). This work provides key missing information on how interfacial engineering influences the desirable electronic properties of the 2D/3D hierarchical films and device performance via ligand chemistry and compositional engineering in the QW layer.
The traditional A* algorithm suffers from issues such as sharp turning points in the path, weak directional guidance during the search, and a large number of computed nodes. To address these ...problems, a modified approach called the Directional Search A* algorithm along with a path smoothing technique has been proposed. Firstly, the Directional Search A* algorithm introduces an angle constraint condition through the evaluation function. By converting sharp turns into obtuse angles, the path turning points become smoother. This approach reduces the occurrence of sharp turns in the path, resulting in improved path smoothness. Secondly, the algorithm enhances the distance function to strengthen the directional guidance during the path search. By optimizing the distance function, the algorithm tends to prefer directions that lead towards the target, which helps reduce the search space and shorten the overall path planning time. Additionally, the algorithm removes redundant nodes along the path, resulting in a more concise path representation. Lastly, the algorithm proposes an improved step size adjustment method to optimize the number of path nodes obtained. By appropriately adjusting the step size, the algorithm further reduces the number of nodes, leading to improved path planning efficiency. By applying these methods together, the Directional Search A* algorithm effectively addresses the limitations of the traditional A* algorithm and produces smoother and more efficient path planning results. Simulation experiments comparing the modified A* algorithm with the traditional A* algorithm were conducted using MATLAB. The experimental results demonstrate that the improved A* algorithm can generate shorter paths, with reduced planning time and smoother trajectories. This indicates that the Directional Search A* algorithm, incorporating the angle constraint condition in the evaluation function and the direction-guided strategy, outperforms the traditional A* algorithm in path planning and provides better solutions to the existing issues.
The present study evaluated the effects of dapagliflozin, a SGLT2 inhibitor, or dapagliflozin plus metformin versus metformin monotherapy in patients with metabolic syndrome. This study included ...patients who admitted in Jiangxi Provincial People's Hospital from January 1, 2017 to December 31, 2019 and were diagnosed with metabolic syndrome. A total of 248 participants were randomly assigned to divide into three groups: dapagliflozin group; metformin group; dapagliflozin in combined with metformin group. Dapagliflozin group and metformin group were associated with similar improvements in components of metabolic syndrome. Relative to dapagliflozin or metformin monotherapy, dapagliflozin combined with metformin provided greater improvements in components of metabolic syndrome. So did HOMA-IR scores, fasting plasma insulin and inflammatory indicators (hsCRP, PMN/HDL-C and Monocytes/HDL-C). Dapagliflozin improved all components of metabolic syndrome in patients with metabolic syndrome. Furthermore, dapagliflozin combined with metformin showed more meaningful improvements in any of components of metabolic syndrome than dapagliflozin or metformin monotherapy.
Single-cell metabolomics can be used to study cell diversity and how cells respond to environment. There is an urgent need to develop effective detection methods for single-cell metabolomics. ...Microchip electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence detection (MCE-LIFD) is a powerful tool to detect metabolites at the single-cell level. However, the existing one-laser excitation and one-color fluorescence collection in MCE-LIFD is not sufficient for the simultaneous detection of multiple small molecules with wide variations in their fluorescence excitation and emission spectra. In this manuscript, we describe a multicolor fluorescence detection-based microfluidic device (MFD-MD) for single-cell metabolomics research. We selected primary liver cells from acute ethanol-stimulated mice as the model cells and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), glutathione (GSH), and cysteine (Cys) as representative small-molecule metabolites for single-cell analysis. The microfluidic chip enabled accurate single-cell manipulation and effective electrophoresis separation. The new multicolor fluorescence detection permitted simultaneous analysis of H2O2, GSH, and Cys. Ethanol exposure induced an increase in H2O2 and a decrease in GSH and Cys. Obvious cell heterogeneity was observed. These results provide insights regarding the intracellular oxidative/antioxidative molecular mechanism in response to external stimuli. The MFD-MD provides a new opportunity for simultaneous single-cell analysis of multiple metabolites.
The electronic conductivities of ferroelectric domain walls have been extensively explored over the past decade for potential nanoelectronic applications. However, the realization of logic devices ...based on ferroelectric domain walls requires reliable and flexible control of the domain-wall configuration and conduction path. Here, we demonstrate electric-field-controlled stable and repeatable on-and-off switching of conductive domain walls within topologically confined vertex domains naturally formed in self-assembled ferroelectric nano-islands. Using a combination of piezoresponse force microscopy, conductive atomic force microscopy, and phase-field simulations, we show that on-off switching is accomplished through reversible transformations between charged and neutral domain walls via electric-field-controlled domain-wall reconfiguration. By analogy to logic processing, we propose programmable logic gates (such as NOT, OR, AND and their derivatives) and logic circuits (such as fan-out) based on reconfigurable conductive domain walls. Our work might provide a potentially viable platform for programmable all-electric logic based on a ferroelectric domain-wall network with low energy consumption.
The current study evaluated the effect of SGLT-2 inhibitor, empagliflozin, on blood pressure reduction in Chinese elderly hypertension patients with type 2 diabetes and investigated its possible ...mechanisms. 124 patients were randomized to receive 25 mg empagliflozin QD, or placebo double blind for 12 weeks. Patients underwent 24-h ABPM. Endothelial function and arterial stiffness were also measured prior to randomization and at week 12. At week 12, adjusted mean difference versus placebo in change from baseline in mean 24-h SBP was - 8.14 mmHg (95% CI - 10.32, - 3.96, P = 0.005). At week 12, adjusted mean difference versus placebo in change from baseline in mean 24-h DBP was - 5.27 mmHg (95% CI - 8.19, - 1.35, P < 0.001). Changes in office BP were consistent with ABPM. Empagliflozin was well tolerated. Empagliflozin was associated with significant and clinically meaningful reductions in BP versus placebo in Chinese elderly patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertension. The underlying mechanisms possiblely at least in part were the improvements of endothelial function and arterial stiffness associated with empagliflozin.Registration number: ChiCTR2100054678, Registration date: December 23, 2021.

Image deblurring is a fundamental problem in imaging field which often needs to recover the important structure of images. This paper addresses the image deblurring problem by considering an image as ...a combination of its cartoon (the piecewise smooth part of the image) and texture (the oscillation part of the image) components. To recover both of these parts, we propose the use of coupled analysis-based sparse representations to regularize the cartoon structure and the texture part of the image. We apply anisotropic total variation with a quadratic term to enhance the edges existing in the cartoon part. Furthermore, we develop a multivariable Bregman optimization method to solve the proposed image restoration model by combining the alternating minimization method and the split Bregman iteration. The experiments show that the proposed algorithm not only performs well for image decomposition, but also outperforms the previously established methods in terms of the visual residual error, the structure similarity index and the peak signal-to-noise ratio for image deblurring.
For molecular engineering of organic luminogens, the utilization of different substituents is a common approach to tune their light emission properties. Unlike the well-recognized influence of ...aromatic substituents furnishing electron push-pull properties or steric hindrance on the luminescence properties, alkyl groups have attracted much less attention in most cases, regardless of their greater and greater importance to molecular packing appearing in recent years. In this review, we will give a summary of recent advances in organic luminogens modified with alkyl groups and their corresponding fluorescence, phosphorescence and/or mechano-responsive properties. Through systematical investigation of the relationship of the chemical structure-molecular packing-luminescence properties, some guidance is proposed for the rational molecular design of organic luminescent materials.
