This study investigates how the circular economy and business models are related in the current business and management literature. Based on bibliometric analytical procedures, 253 articles were ...retrieved from the Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect scientific databases. The articles were analyzed according to network analysis principles, and key terms were mapped into a network. We used VOSviewer to build the network, explore the most‐researched terms and their relationships, and identify less‐explored terms and research gaps. We furthermore conducted a qualitative review of selected publications to provide an illustration of quantitative results and delve deeper into the research topics. The main findings revealed the networks of current topics as they appear in the publications such as business models, the circular economy, circular business models, value, supply chain, transition, resource, waste, and reuse, and their most prevalent relationships. The results also highlighted several emerging topics such as those connected with managerial, supply‐side, demand‐side, networking, performance, and contextual considerations of circular business models.
The green growth paradigm has gained much attention in the last decade. Green growth not only protects the environment and human beings but also serves as a substitute for scarce natural assets. ...Governance institutions develop laws and policies for all industries in a country and are directly responsible for natural resource exploration and environmental protection or destruction. Pakistan is the fifth most vulnerable country to environmental hazards in the world. To address this issue, this study is the first to analyze the relations among governance indicators, ISO 14001 and green growth in Pakistan by using time-series data from 2000 to 2017. The study utilized advanced mathematical Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) models, namely, absolute grey relational grade (GRG), Deng's GRG, and Second Synthetic Degree of Grey Incidence Analysis (SSGIG) models, to capture the relations among the studied variables. The main results revealed that ISO 14001, with the highest GRA values of 0.8-0.9, proved to be effective in channeling green growth. Among all governance indicators related to green growth, the rule of law with the highest maximin criterion value of 0.644 was found to play a key role for Pakistan. The study findings provide insights into how good governance can contribute to accomplishing the objectives of environmental sustainability. They can also help legislators and organizations understand the importance of ISO 14001 certification to promote sustainable practices across sectors in Pakistan.

O objetivo deste artigo é o de apresentar como a EaD se tornou um objetivo nacional do governo moçambicano para assegurar o acesso à educação a um número cada vez maior de cidadãos e de melhorar a ...qualidade dos serviços prestados em todos os níveis e tipos de ensino. A partir da metodologia do estudo de caso, a pesquisa apresenta como principais resultados o fato de que a Educação a Distância é considerada uma das alternativas para atender as diferentes necessidades de formação superior face às evidentes dificuldades pelas quais Moçambique enfrenta no quesito formação em nível superior. O Instituto Superior de Ciências e Educação à Distância (ISCED) contribui para esse processo de elaboração de cursos a distância, cujos cursos se traduzem no desenvolvimento de um ambiente para suporte ao processo ensino/aprendizagem apoiado pelas novas tecnologias de informação e de comunicação, pressupondo um cuidadoso planejamento, que aponta para a necessidade de um enfoque sistêmico na produção de cursos, envolvendo uma equipe multidisciplinar, com habilidades e conhecimentos especializados. Conclui-se que o enfoque sistêmico de concepção, produção e implementação de programas à distância estão garantindo a realização do objetivo nacional do governo.
This study unfolds the nexus between green investment (GI), the sustainable business performance (SBP) of small‐ and medium‐sized enterprises by exploring the mediating role of corporate social ...responsibility (CSR), and green innovation (GIN) in the context of an emerging economy. A well‐structured questionnaire was used for data collection. A total of 556 valid responses from directors and managers were received and used for data analysis. The Smart PLS version 3.3.2 was employed to analyse and investigate the relationships between the constructs and the latent variables. Our findings provide an insight into how GI can boost SBP in the context of CSR and GIN partially mediating this relationship. This research implies that, businesses, which implement GI, GIN and CSR to promote bringing long‐term and sustainable benefits to businesses and stakeholders for SBP to help businesses, develop sustainably in the new context.
The Renewable Energy Plan for the period 2011–2020 established as a general goal to ensure that renewable sources represent at least 20% of final energy consumption in 2020, together with a minimum ...contribution of 10% from renewable energy sources in transportation for that year. Then, the goal of this research is to evaluate the effects of the regional production of clean energy, identifying the employment generated in the renewable sector. The adopted methodology was the shift-share analysis, frequently used by researchers to analyze territorial differences. Main results showed important differences, at regional level, in the production of this type of energy. Likewise, we used constant shift and constant share methodology to make a forecast on the evolution of the sector from the data of last published years. Pending the approval of the new Renewable Energy Plan for the period 2021–2030, the results obtained in this research allow the identification of the regions that showed a favorable evolution to the energy change and identifies the projects that generate employment and production in the sector.
Sustainable development is the process of reaching sustainability, and Stakeholder Value Creation (SVC) can foster urban sustainability. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are optimal tools for ...scrutinizing sustainable development processes. Although SVC and urban sustainability are clearly connected, the dyadic phenomenon of the contribution of SVC to achieving the SDGs is obscure. Thus, this study explores how SVC contributes to achieving the SDGs at the city level. We performed the Cross-Network Information Analysis protocol, which is properly designed for investigating dyadic phenomena. The main findings revealed that SVC contributes to most SDGs in cities, mainly 11, 17, 9, and 8. Consensus building, smart sustainable cities, and innovation ecosystems are central aspects of the SVC contribution to the SDGs in general. Other relevant aspects are: shared meaning, networking strategy, socio-spatial & cultural patterns, technology, circular economy, sharing economy, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, social bricolage, knowledge sharing, open innovation, ethics, and creativity. However, there has been no empirical evidence of SVC contribution to reaching the SDGs 5, 14, and 15. Policymakers, academics, and practitioners can address the lack of applied research on these last three SDGs by including non-human stakeholders, the environment, and gender diversity in organizational processes, organizational systems, and partnerships.

Marketing in a family firm context has been increasingly researched over the past years. This study reviews 104 publications at the intersection of marketing and family firms to identify their theoretical roots, research trajectories, and themes and to propose new research avenues. For this, we integrated three bibliometric analyses: co-citation analysis, historical direct citation analysis, and co-occurrence analysis. We also conducted a qualitative review to further examine the obtained quantitative results. The findings show that the theoretical roots in the marketing and family firm research domain are characterized by two groups of cited references: those representing the earlier (before 2010) and later (after 2012) periods. The two main research trajectories identified are developed under the influence of two pioneering studies. Moreover, five distinct research themes are identified: brand and image, resources and performance, reputation, market orientation, and marketing strategy of family firms. Our results also highlight avenues for further research.
The European Union (EU) has launched two regional investment programs of European Funds (FE) in the last decade. One covers the period of 2007 to 2013, and the second from 2014 to 2020. Among the ...goals contained in FE regulations is that of achieving sustainable growth through the conversion of fossil energy production systems to renewable energy. This research has had a goal to determine whether the countries of the Eurozone maintain homogeneous levels of efficiency in the use of these resources to improve the levels of environmental quality related to the use of this type of energy. The adopted research method for efficiency analyses was Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Findings revealed that the efficiency in the use of renewable energies is very uneven among the analyzed countries and that these differences are maintained throughout the analyzed period. These results suggest that the criteria for the distribution of the funds should be modified. The current distribution is mainly based on the per capita income of the countries and/or regions. In this way, compliance with the European Green Pact approved in September 2020 would be guaranteed.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) promote their alignment with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This ...convergence of standards and information is causing the selection of a certification body to register these sustainability standards to become more complicated. Therefore, this study fills a gap in the literature by developing a framework to prioritize the most critical attributes for selecting a certification body. Initially, we focus on seven attributes using the Grey Delphi method. Further, Grey Analytical Hierarchy Process (GAHP) is employed to find primary and sub-indicators relative importance. Finally, we used a novel Grey Absolute Decision Analysis (GADA) model to rank the widely adapted top six certification bodies. Results reveal that Reputation, Payment Method & Cost, and Quality of Auditors are significant indicators with weighted scores of 0.2120, 0.1704, and 0.1406. In contrast, the auditor's knowledge about the sustainability standards, and review of the meetings obtained the highest weight score 0.5009 and 0.4918 and are seen as essential amongst 35 sub-criteria. Within this study, we identify which ISO and GRI sustainability standards contribute to a given SDG. We also find Bureau Veritas and Société Générale de Surveillance are the best-suited certification bodies help to achieve SDGs as they obtained the highest weights 0.8731, and 0.7340. This study is amongst the first of its kind to address selecting the right certification body for aligning with the SDGs by using the integration of three novel grey models. Outcomes of this study can help assist scholars, managers, government agencies, and decision-makers in selecting certification bodies to achieve SDGs while simultaneously improving sustainability practices.
Management style and decision-making create an organization’s culture and influence its performance also in the pro-ecological dimension. Therefore, this paper’s originality lies in how it explores ...the effect of management style to inform our understanding of decision-making when using a sustainable approach. However, the cause-and-effect relations between decisions and management style remain vastly unexplored. The paper’s aim is to explore whether the management style serves as a basis for decision-making or if it is an effect of decisions. This research addresses a research question: is the management style a basis for decision-making or an effect of the decisions in a pro-ecological context? We used a comprehensive literature review by using inductive and deductive approaches to analyze the relations between decision-making and management style. The paper also illustrates how organizational culture images can inform accounts of business realities influencing organizations’ green strategies. The analogies followed relations between color symbol and guiding metaphor. The article presents a theoretical discussion on the influence of management style on decision-making in the organization, based on original literature research in pro-ecological strategy related decisions. As a result, a decision-making style model is proposed. This nonorthodox approach might open up new avenues of thought in the field of decision-making, management styles, and pro-ecological strategy. Theoretical and managerial implications and directions for future research are also addressed.
